Rick Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Well, that's good to hear. Good for you, Ricey! See, there's something you definitely did right. I need to learn to watch voting patterns. I don't play that way yet. I always mean to, but I get distracted by the other aspects. Voting...pffft. Does it really mean anything? Yeah, what good is voting in a mafia game when you can give almost everyone night actions? This was so frustrating for me. I thought Ricey would be an easy target, to buy Scouts some more time before he was accused. And then Ricey had to ruin it all by voting badboy and gaining enough trust to become a lower priority. Ugh. Yeah, you weren't pushing for him in PMs at all from day 1. Ricey and Inky indeed saved their megablocks by their voting behavior on badboytje and Scouts. And badboytje was really suspicious to you from early on as well for some strange reason. And I should have known better when you finally started fishing about whether I thought Scouts was suspicious. But in general, your PMs didn't make you look really trustworthy or suspicious. You're great at being a 'neutral' player, really hard to read.
Eskallon Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Pennie Pig - Spring Haven Mayor - The Village - murdered on Night 4. played by Eskallon Role: Protector - They thought you were the investigator! Sorry to lose you so quickly. You were protecting the in-crowd...again...so you contacted the right players and they trusted you. You're always underestimated but you know how to play behind the scenes. Too bad the scum knew you had a night action or you would've last longer. You were a good candidate for flying under the radar in this one. Nice work, too short of a game. Yeah, I can agree with everything you said here, every bloody time I get in touch with the right people but it has normally been bad luck that I end up dead, like with this that they found out I had a night action. Oh well, next game maybe. I would love to see a The Forest Mafia 2, I think that it would be interesting and if you corrected the mistakes made in this one, it could turn out to be a really awsome game.

Dragonator Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Sorry I'm late everyone! Portal 2 has been a bit of a distraction. I really enjoyed this game. Even though I died on the first night (surprise surprise ), I was very happy to come back and get to do a bit of good for the town side. Although, I must say that I do dislike the use of resurrections in Mafia games, especially when the resurrected person is confirmed innocent. And Stash got a pretty easy win out of that too. But, all in all, a very well run game Hinck, thanks for letting me play. -Oh Draggy!! Will you never learn? Blabbing about your role in IRC will only get you killed. What? I did no such thing, I blabbed my role to Shadows in private. Silly. Here is my role if anyone is interested: Dragonator - Booker Bear – Village – Cult Leader In this game of wits and strategy you are playing the character of Booker Bear, the Spring Haven Garbage Man. Not many people give you a chance, since you smell so bad. You are friendly and care deeply about Spring Haven, but people just can’t get past the fact that you smell horribly. Perhaps if you would just get a wheelbarrow to cart people’s trash away instead of picking through it, eating what you want and rolling in the rest. The Baker and his wife have trusted you with the task of forming a trusted society of innocent Villagers. You are the Head Monk of the Masonic Temple. You are allowed to recruit one member to the temple every night. If you recruit a Villager your alignment will be verified to that Villager and yours to them. However, if you attempt to recruit a member of The Demon Legion, you will be told their allegiance and they will be told your role… Once a Villager becomes a monk, they can trade their magical gifts (Night Actions) with other people in the Temple. In addition to this task, The Baker and his wife have entrusted you with a magical orb that protects those around it. You and the other monks will be protected at night from evildoers who wish to harm you. However, the orb is rather ancient and it doesn’t always work…

Stash2Sixx Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Stash 2 Sixx - Wendell Walrus – Village – Reviver In this game of wits and strategy you are playing the character of Wendell Walrus, the Spring Haven Librarian. You love your books and keep to yourself for the most part. Not a lot of people know who you are and some are disgusted by the way you gorge on river fish and then bask in the sun, farting. Nevertheless, you love Spring Haven and would do anything to protect it from the evil that is currently threatening it. You have been given the magical power of Re-Animation. You’ve been given a bag of Magic Re-Animation Powder. When you sprinkle it on a dead or lynched player, that player will come back to life. This bit of magic has a nasty side effect: In order to Re-Animate your target, your life is taken in return. Remember that if your character is lynched or killed during the night, you should not assume your game is over and do not discuss the game with anyone until the conclusion is reached. Your win condition is different from the other Villagers. You win if the town wins, and you successfully use your night action. Best of luck! So now you all know why I ended up a winner in this one. I always enjoy the amount of work I have to put into these mafia games. Like badboy said, I too always learn something from every game I play. This one was frustrating though. Once I read my character bio, I knew I wasn't going to last long. This was a metagamers paradise!!! This many egos in one game, a few people were going to get taken out right away; I knew I would be out in the first few days. Point made when someone (Kovacs) decided to off me at night! My biggest concern was bringing a scum back to life, but once Dragonator was confirmed, I saw this as my best option. Suicide from the get go, yes. But, I knew Draggy was a stronger player than me. That being said, Dragonator, you can kiss my megablocks! This is the second time you caved to Shadows now. Had I known you opened your mouth on IRC and blabbed, your megablocks would still be on fire! Suck it Draggy. Suck it long and suck it hard! Look, no smiley face. I'm really actually pissed at you!!! Cornelius, the way you kept fishing for info in pms, I had to be careful with you. I didn't want to really give much of anything away until I knew for sure what side you were on. To the rest of the surviving town members, great job. I was rooting for you and almost got a little worried near the end there. Getting Scouts and finding out he was the crow finally helped me to relax a bit. Arjay and your evil crew, way to hang on until the very end. You guys were methodical and it was actually cool to sit on the outside and simply watch you guys pick people off one at a time. I do have one issue though...maybe I'm missing something...Why/How did the Mason's get the ability to recruit members in? Was this a change of your's Hinck? I thought the Mason's were an established group and started off the game already knowing who each other were? Did the Mason's just decide "Hey, we like this cat, let's let her join our secret club!"
def Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Speaking of the walrus, I have a question too... If night actions didn't count on nights you were killed, why was Stash able to use his night action before Kovacs killed him, but I wasn't able to use my night action before I was killed? In looking at the roles (trying to answer that question above by myself), one role I really liked was the poison killing. It's far more disconcerting to have someone die mid-day, it's a nice twist on the night kill

Killing, blocking, protecting were successful. Why? Because it's too tempting for the dead to pass on their info. Will I answer this question again? No.

Hinckley Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 I'm so sorry It's quite all right. I love you anyway.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Cornelius, the way you kept fishing for info in pms, I had to be careful with you. I didn't want to really give much of anything away until I knew for sure what side you were on. Um, I don't think telling me you had an important night action in your first message back to me was being very careful. I trusted you, though, mostly from your actions in the first day Whitefang vote. I even told Walter that I thought you weren't scum when he asked what I thought about you.
Zepher Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 One other thing I sent Shadows right before I died and just remembered: I'd love to know what swayed you so suddenly. I really have been honest and open, all my stories have been verified by sources, and, well, I'm dead, so nothing to do. Just be careful my friend. Don't burn down the town while I'm gone I was just ambigously calling him the arsonist because I just felt like it, and had a random hunch. I was right and I didn't even know it.
smittyfan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Amazing game Hinkley!! it's been great following along! I'd just love to see a second Forest Mafia. Seeing Shadows get brought back and modkilled over and over, and then get a statue erected for the 'Tree Stump' was hilarious.
