dels_tesis Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Ola ! Can't you just place the questions here ? that's a bit easier than a word document. ( I can't open it either ) thnx, Saint Sure!! Here are the questions: Questionnaire Lego Community Three objectives have to be found out in this thesis partially through interviews in a chosen Lego online community. First, the meaning of techniques, namely building techniques for Lego users, second the importance of these techniques for Lego users and their MOCs and finally how innovation takes place when lead users innovate building techniques in a Lego community. That is to say the role of user innovation by innovating techniques within an online community, more precisely in a Lego online community. Techniques Innovation 1. What are the characteristics of building techniques? Please describe what you consider to be the crucial characteristics that make an action / a thing / a combination of LEGO elements a building technique. _________________________________ 2. When or in what situations do you consider the use of Building Techniques useful? ________________________________ 3. How many and which Building Techniques do you use to develop your MOCS? ________________________________ Online community as a medium of Techniques Innovation 4. Are Building Techniques a reason why you participate in this community? No___________ a. Which are your reasons otherwise? ________________________________ Yes___________ b. Why are they reasons for you to participate? ________________________________ 5. How much information and knowledge do you receive and share about Building Techniques within the community? ____________________________ 6. Which building techniques do you know that AFOLs have either improved or developed themselves? ________________________________ 7. How many hours per week do you spend in the community? ________________________________ Basic Information 8. What is your Nickname? ________________________________ 9. What is your age and gender? ________________________________ 10. How many years have you been actively involved in the LEGO hobby? ________________________________ Sure, why not, I'll do this. yeiiii thank you!!! it´ll help a lot Sent my answers. fred67 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Just try!! There is no right or wrong, just your honest answer. And please don´t hesitate to ask if you want me to clarify some questions. The problem is I can't get past the first few questions. Everything is a building technique... from simple stacking of bricks to SNOT to illegal connections to modifying bricks. Which ones do I use? It depends on the MOC... they're all different and require different methods. I guess the problem is that my interests are so broad; I don't just build technic vehicles, I don't just build buildings, I don't just build bridges, I don't just build simple little scenes... perhaps I'm over thinking it. Or, from an engineering perspective, are you asking about engineering techniques, like cantilevers and trusses? Quote
Enpaz Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I've just sent you my answers for your questions. I took my time and filled in the questionnaire to the best of my knowledge. Hope it helps. Cheers Enpaz Quote

Or, from an engineering perspective, are you asking about engineering techniques, like cantilevers and trusses? You don´t have to overthink that som much or be so specific (however I appreciate that you try to do your best)... I what I want to know what a technique for you is... not for anybody else but for you, which elements do you combine?, is it a process? is it a combination of elements? if yes which elements?? is a building technique something so precise or is it just an advice of how to do it? All this methods for different types of MOCs are in general building techniques for MOCs... Try to explain how you will explain to your grandma ... You can be so specific as you want but you don´t have to be... you are the expert so try to explain it to a totall inexpert (like me) I've just sent you my answers for your questions. I took my time and filled in the questionnaire to the best of my knowledge. Hope it helps. Cheers Enpaz Got them!! Thanks!!! Me 3 2 !! got them 2...or 3 ?? Thanks a lot ! =) Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I believe the prizes are doing their job Also, we may use some typical LEGO words in our answers (as I did with SNOT). Here is a glossary so you can find out about words like that. Good luck with the research project! Quote
