Oky Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I don't understand the humor of the last one. Why is Emmet there, and is Maggie really being accused of being a dwarf? LEGO isn't all about proportions, but I don't think that's really funny. Perhaps Emmet is the insensitive jerk in this (and the "bad guy" of the funny), but the joke itself seems bad. The other two are great, though. As Tolkien explained, since Maggie is the first Lego baby, Emmet doesn't know what a baby is and naturally assumed she was a dwarf. So to Marge, he may seem like an insensitive jerk, but in reality, he just doesn't know any better. There is a bug. If TLM was composed by the time after Simpsons, Maggie might have been known in LEGO world. Well, the Simpsons did exist in The Lego Movie (Millhouse was one of the Master Builders), but remember that all the themes were cut off from each other and Emmet didn't even know that the other themes existed, so this is what might happen when he meets the other Simpsons minifigs after the events of the movie. Hey Oky, when people start arguing about the continuity in your comics, it might be time for a reboot alá infinite crisis / crisis on infinite earths Might as well start building an Anti-Monitor now, to save time later Haha! Nah, it's fine because these are all Elseworld scenarios. Quote
Artanis I Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 "What's a baby?" says Emmet? How about step 9... Quote
Oky Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 "What's a baby?" says Emmet? How about step 9... Well... he doesn't have a family, so he wouldn't know... yeah, let's go with that. Quote
Robert8 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 "What's a baby?" says Emmet? How about step 9... Lol. That's a creepy baby... His/her head is as big as the rest of the body. Even Emmet is like wtf?! Quote
Artanis I Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Well... he doesn't have a family, so he wouldn't know... yeah, let's go with that. That pic is step 9 from "the instructions" (eat a complete breakfast with all the special people in your life) ... so he's definitely seen it. Lol. That's a creepy baby... His/her head is as big as the rest of the body. Even Emmet is like wtf?! Babies' heads are proportionally huge compared to adults! Quote
Dorayaki Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) My earlier memory for official LEGO babies was Padme giving birth in SW games though Emmet doesn't have to remember that. Whatever, it's mostly that babies are just have nowhere to fit in any corner of LEGO world. Belville and Duplo introduced baby figures to add nursing uses, but nursing seem not necessary for any LEGO minifigure (and current Friends minidolls) theme. Maggie's body doesn't look appropriate for a normal minifigure head too. Edited September 11, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Oky, you have caused a rift in the space-time continuum! Quick, we have to go back! Quote
Thelegomaster Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Oky, What have you done?!?!? There's a black hole right beside m- *gets sucked into the black hole* Quote
Dorayaki Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Recently it's been proven that Maggie Simpsons is not the very first LEGO Maggie. I hate to dissapoint Lisa, but this question is difficult. Congrats on LEGO for bring back the animal welfare issue. Edited September 13, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Dorayaki, I don't understand the first and last of your funnies. Sorry. Quote
Oky Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hehe, good ones, Dorayaki! Dorayaki, I don't understand the first and last of your funnies. Sorry. I understand your confusion. The first one is referring to the fact that that Friends character's name is also Maggie, so when Marge is looking for her baby, Ms. Stevens thinks she means her. It's a somewhat obscure reference and especially hard to get since the actual Maggie Stevens doll isn't used. The third one is unfortunately a bit hard to understand due to the broken English. Basically, Rocket is mad that Wiley is wearing a raccoon skin cap. Quote
Dorayaki Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) Hehe, good ones, Dorayaki! The third one is unfortunately a bit hard to understand due to the broken English. Okay, I know my English never works . If you don't mind, thanx for coming up with a new dialogue. Edited September 13, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote

Dorayaki Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Seemed fine to me! Very funny, nicely done! Thanx! Now since Mr Oky is busy making magnificent Exo Suits, I'll continue with some Hobbit things. Nothing wrong or funny in this family photo. Move on. Grandma Visitor would eventually be taller than this hunter. Wands are pretty common in another world, sadly. Seriously LEGO, STOP IT!!!!!!!!! Edited September 26, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
Jared Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Thanx! Now since Mr Oky is busy making magnificent Exo Suits, I'll continue with some Hobbit things. That last one is especially accurate! Wonderful job! Quote

Haha, thanks for keeping the thread going in my absence with these great funnies! Now that the Exo Suit challenge is over, I can get back to making funnies! Here is some more with the GotG. And yes, the first two are actor references. TheLegoDr Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I agree on the Pie Maker bit. Great show. I haven't seen GotG yet, so I didn't know Lee Pace was in that. Good deal. I may have to look into it sometime. I didn't realize Groot's hands were that big. Makes sense though. I should probably buy these sets sometime, huh... Quote
