As a few have noted in the Aussie Sales topic, the group that owns the LEGOLAND parks, Merlin Entertainments now own Sydney Aquarium. As a possible precursor to this deal, in late October a new sub attraction called LEGO on the Loose appeared at Sydney Wildlife World and Sydney Aquarium. I just moved to the area at the time so I didn't have time to go, but today I went to the Sydney Aquarium and to my surprise the attractions are still there. Does this bode well for a future Sydney LEGOLAND or at least an official store? I'd like to think so! In any case, here are the photos!

Vandalism (or old age) highlights how these are made...

Lots of great stuff, a non-AFOL friend of mine from Sydney sent me some photos of these a couple of weeks ago, and it's nice to see some more shots of these fantastic builds. I really like that massive LEGO Great White Shark! Thanks for sharing these photos Sieggy!

They all look amazing!

The mosaics definitely are my favourite cause they look so life like.

But I dont think Zeus's abs look good in Lego. Though Lego would probably guarantee they are rock hard.

Thanks for posting these mate  Looks really nice and as you mentioned, hopefully bodes well for the future of a store. Apparently the Melbourne Myer is huge and has the first PAB in Aus as well, so maybe, just maybe we are growing enough.

Thanks. I saw this when I was in Sydney a few weeks ago, but gave it a miss as I've always found the Aquarium to be a tad expensive for what it is, so I'm pleased to see what they've got in terms of models.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :sweet:

I was there today and saw all the huge models, I wonder if the models are hollow or solid?

I believe a mix of both; ones such as the scuba diver I suspect has a very solid internal frame. I doubt any are 100% solid LEGO thought, but we do have a few people on this forum who work, or have worked, at the parks who would have a more accurate answer.

Well I have two kids so it was a new experience for them. I wouldn't go by myself... certainly not to see a few models!

I think he's Poseidon or Neptune.
