Cecilie Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Anyone remember the video of Kai starting his spinjitsu training from the Ninjago movie? (If not, you can see it here: ). Needless to say, I have watched this little clip more than once over the past weeks, as my entry is heavily inspired by this .So I present, the Spinjitsu Training Temple. The following two pictures have the spinning center thing removed to get a clearer picture. And with the spinning center back in place: The inside of the temple, viewed from the back: This set comes with 5 minifigs, Kai in his blacksmith clothes, Cole, Zane and Jay in their black ninja clothes (as in this clip: ) and Sensei Wu. This set has lots of play features. All the training equipment spins and moves (except for the pillars in front of the gate), and there are 3 sliding doors (double in the front and one on each side). I have uploaded a video showing all the moving bits here: The set is also modular in the way that each of the 4 baseplate-sections can easily be detached from the rest. More pictures in my flickr stream. I had a lot of fun making this, hope you like it . Quote
quy Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 This is one of my favorite entries. I actually do recognize this from some reference material on the Ninjago website. There is lots of nice playability, and the layout is just fantastic. Some of the tiling is unnecessary (as it is not very visible). I particularly like the idea of splitting it into four modules. badboytje88 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Wow, this has to be one of my favorites. I like how you used the official video as reference. It looks just like the real deal! Quote
Oky Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 That looks great! Very accurate, right down to Sensei Wu's tea set! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Great work, Cecilie! All the equipment looks spot-on, yet very playable. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Excellent entry Cecilie! Now that's a complete training temple! Total enclosure and fully-furnished with the required training equipment/modules (which reminds me of Kung Fu Panda ). Great job and best of luck! Quote
lego-maniac Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Well Done . I've try to build it at the beginning but from bricks to bricks it bas evolued. Nice entry, I wish you good luck, the duel between Dojo's will be hard ! Quote
Cecilie Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, I'm glad you like it. Some of the tiling is unnecessary (as it is not very visible). Not quite sure what tiling you're talking about. The tiling of the inside is necessary to hide the dbg floor (which would have been really ugly, and it is viewable from 3 of the 4 sides ), and the tiling outside isn't really tiling, it's the floor boards (there aren't plates underneath more than just the connection points). It looks just like the real deal! That was my intention . right down to Sensei Wu's tea set! I was hoping someone would notice that . (which reminds me of Kung Fu Panda ) Haha, I didn't think of that I wish you good luck, the duel between Dojo's will be hard ! Thanks, I'm ready for battle! Quote

WhiteFang Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I watched the animated cartoon earlier and to my surprise, your entry with regards to the spinjitsu training is deadly accurate. It is great to see it in LEGO bricks. Good luck! Quote
