I am trying to stack parts on top of flat tiles yet I have not figured out how to get LDD to do it. Is it possible.

For example, I would like to put the two parts together (the right one is upside down).

Hi Nicolas

There is not way to directly add a brick like you want to since there is not connectivity. Like Brickdoctor says, you need to add some scafolding, remove a 1x2 tile, put the piece in place, remove the scafolding and the put back the 1x2 tile. Illustrations below. (maybe there is an easier way, but it was the methods I thought of first)

Just to clarify, this is what I was talking about:

Of the middle row of pieces, only the blue 1 x 2 is a plate, the others are still tiles. Once this connection is made, delete the blue piece and put the red 1 x 2 Tile on the side back.

Well, it seems I was all wrong about this, and Brickdoctor was correct :blush:

I had thought the same as you and only realized what he wanted right before i posted my solution, which incidentally...

Was better than yours :tongue::wink:

Mr. Convuluted :tongue:

But yeah, nicholas, either do it like brickdoctor said or just put a brick in the middle of there, connect and delete:

Smaller range of viewing angles for connecting but all in all you have less steps.

Bonus: "exploded assembly view" (lifted out to display nesting function):
