I Scream Clone Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Damn Jelly Blubbers! Intrepid diver Kath Hansi thought it would be a simple reconnaissance mission, but girl was she wrong! It seems she has come across a "Damn Jelly Blubber!" Tales state that this jellyfish has a penchant for human flesh and sucking on nitrogen air tanks, but no one ever wants to get close enough to find out! Full Set on MOCPages 4th Wall stuff: Special thanks to my mates Hansi for his guidance on all things UV, and El Barto for all his help with Photoshop, I am slowly learning tricks as I progress and I think my pictures are better for it. Note I had a crack at a few UV lighted pictures which seemed to work out ok. Cheers ISC. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Great work with the transparent jellyfish, ISC! It's obviously the star of the scene, but I also really like the way you've done the leaves as seaweed. Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Great build! The jelly fish is really cool, I really liked the rock wall and the plant life. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Wow, you have done it again ISC! I'm lovin' that giant trans-jelly fish, the base build looks great too with that mini-rock arch formation and the surrounding aquatic plant-life. Excellent work as always mate! Quote
Pandora Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Such a great scene! The jellyfish is brilliant and the UV lighting has paid off in the photo - there's a real deep-sea iridescence to it! I don't recognise the trans-pink parts , where are they from? The stone arch is beautifully made; it reminded me of the arches goldfish swim through in goldfish bowls but it's still very clearly a deep-sea scene. Yet another fabulous MOC! Quote
Rufus Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 That's lovely, ISC! Your imagination is second to none, and you always make a stunning scene from it. I recently grabbed a load of 1x2 trans-clear plates from the PaB wall, but I'd never have thought to make a jellyfish out of them! And I love that arch. I'd be interested to hear how you used the UV light. I think the fluorescent 'glow-in-the-dark' bricks also glow when used with blue LED light (at least, I found that with green lightsaber blades). Thanks, the UV lighting really lends itself to undersea action I feel. The tran's-pink pieces are jellyfish from the Sandy Spongebob set, Rocket Ride. I really should have bought some SB sets, so cutesy. Seems you get one in a current SB set too, 3834 That's lovely, ISC! Wish we had a store in Aus, let alone PAB. Though I did stock up in Chicago last year, but you can never have enough of anything really. I think the blue LED's must have some portion of UV in their spectrum as well to work. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I even made two blue clams in there if anyone can see them. I can see one under the small leaf/seaweed on the right side of the stone arch, but I can't see the second... Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 My apologies, its on this pic [snip] Ah. Those look good. They capture the shape of clams well. Quote
AppleLEGO Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 great work ! i love that crystal-like jellyfish Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I Scream Clone, you have done it again. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Thanks again for the nice comments, had a blast building Atlantis. Hopefully more undersea creatures coming soon. Quote
Blackknight112 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Great work, the jellyfish is amazing! I like how you made it look like it's underwater, by making the fish "swim". Keep up the good work Quote
Legostein Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Hello! Creating realistic-looking underwater scenes is quite difficult in my eyes. You did an excellent job with your big transparent jellyfish. The way you build it really creates the illusion that it's floating through the water layers smoothly. A nice underwater diorama! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote

Ecclesiastes Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I can tell why you'll have to flee for that jelly! Quote
