Hrw-Amen Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Hello, At last I have enough bits to have a go at making something. I have made a small fishing boat similar to what are found in my local harbour. I used a spare minifig series 3 fisherman as well as a normal town man as crew. I aslo made a small fire engine that carries two firemen. Comments welcome as long as they are not rude. Thanks. Quote
Rufus Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 For a first MOC, the fire truck is not bad at all, Hrw-Amen! You've got the essence of the LEGO City van down perfectly, and added a few nice touches - I like the way you've done the roof with the red bow pieces. You've also got the SNOT front and rear nicely - and although these figure commonly in CITY vehicles, it's by no means a simple technique. The overall design is cute and yet you've managed to pack in features like the opening doors, the hose-reel and ladder. Great stuff, I look forward to more. I can't really comment so much on the boat - maybe some more views would help here? Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Both of these are great MOC's but could you possible post some more pictures of the boat The fire truck is great, nice and modern. Great work Hrw-Amen. Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 The boat (what I can see of it ) is not bad....need a front and side view. Now the fire truck is very good, the use of the hinge drop-sides is very clever and on the left side of the truck totally works with that little 2x2 post box ! The roof is also very original....excellent designing and Brick On 'Hrw-Amen' ! Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Very nice work there! Don't worry EB won't be rude to your Mocs. The boat looks very cool and much like a fishing or boat. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 Thank you. Perhaps I should have put the fishing boat in a different thread. I tried to upload some more photos after cropping them and reducing the image quality so they were very small I am still getting the message 'Error This file was too big to upload.' I am not sure why, they are only around 27K and smaller than the fire engine photos which went up no problems. I've just tried again and got the same message. I'll have to try and fiddle with them to get them smaller. I did want to make the fire engine a little longer but I was limited by the bricks I had. I'd like a bigger ladder as well, but overall I think it looks good and I can always add a bigger ladder later if I get one. Thanks for the comments. Quote
