Talking about impulse building, and just a tease photo at the moment till I do more interior work and finish exterior blue tiling.

New Mannum Ford doesn't sell too many cars, but also is a tractor and farm machinery dealer too.....so you might guess at how big this MOC might end up being !

I do have two other photos, but where I'm at the moment - upload speed is snail's pace ! :hmpf_bad:

More to come later, comments welcome and keep on watching everyone ! :sweet:

Thank you 'Vincent' for your kind comment, originally I tried the 6 wide trans-clear panel but it wasn't tall enough for the effect.

Anyway, I have been able to upload on to Brickshelf the two photos I was talking about.

Off to a great start 'Lt' I too am planning a dealership. No name brand just for the 'Small Car' collection almost complete... Will there be enough room for a car in the show room? Can't wait to see more progress :classic:

Thanks 'LGG' for your kind comments, hopefully I will design a 6 wide short wheel base vehicle ....my town are not really fans of 4 wide !

Keep on watching everyone !

I gotcha on that, everyone has there own preference. Especially if there would only be a few (4w), sticking out like soar thumbs

My 4w outnumber 6w, 4 to 1. Love the classics :sweet:

I like both 4w and 6w, depending on if I'm building classic or modern.

Anyway, I'll be doing some interior work tonight, i.e. start work on the spare parts counter.

Keep on watching !

Great start lightningtiger your design style is obvious already. Will you be sharing the technique used to create the angle of the window?

Thanks 'redcross', oh.....the window trick I learn't from a city coast guard set a few years back using 2x1 hinges.

More updates tomorrow everyone......keep on watching ! :sweet:

In the US dealerships have several cars inside the showroom; you'd have to build it a lot larger for that. Looking good so far and that angled window technique, which is a very simple thing, looks surprisingly good; a variation of it is used on the Queen Anne's Revenge and it makes the rear look so much better.

Thanks 'gotoAndLego', 'AJ' and 'Fuzzy', for your comments, etc., now size....well in Australian country towns car dealers are generally small...rarely displaying more than one to three cars in the showroom. The reason is that the dealer also sells other products to keep the cash comming in....i.e. farm equipment sales, auto accessories....sometimes tyre/battery sales, tools, etc., the list goes on. Now by the size of the base board there will be stuff on the outside of the building.....so keep on watching !

Do the lime green RS version.

Thanks for the suggestion, the mags might be an issue because I'm planning on using the narrow tyres from the jeep and postial service car of 2008. I have already started rough drawings of the front end and side view of the car. Once I have built a prototype then I'll worry about what colour I'm doing. (note I don't think I have any lime green doors ? )

Keep on watching everyone !

Incredible job LightningTiger, I've been following you New Mannum Project quite closely and may I say what a stunning job you've been doing. Your use of decals may be a bit extensive, but it gives incredible reality to you MOCs. Keep the New Mannum MOCs coming!

Thank you 'Captain Bayonet' for your kind words, I should have the showroom/spare parts counter finished today and starting on the car in the showroom as well. I will say now I'm also planning a 4x4 on a ramp to go in the yard and maybe at the rear of the yard....the service department (well a small at least  ).

Keep on watching everyone !

This building sounds like it will shape to be one of, if not the, best you've made. It is quite stunning already. You are probably one of the most skilled small scale town MOCers who's work I have ever seen.

Keep on Brickin'

Shows that small Ford dealers look the same the world over! I can think of a few small UK dealerships that look a bit like that (well, slightly larger but one has to scale down for Lego).

One tip if you have the capability to produce transparent stickers (they are available from specialist mailorder companies) would be to signwrite the windows with the latest promotions.

And, being a garage, it would be interesting to see some wrecked vehicles awaiting repair (eg missing a wing or a door).

Thanks for the comments and suggestions 'Legoless' and again from 'Captain Bayonet', now the workshop won't contain wrecked vehicles but most likely a modern service lift and not the kind from 7642 though.

Brick on watching !

I have followed your town for quite some time now - The way you come up with details for the interior in each of your buildings is a joy to watch :)

I like the simple yet detailed and genuine exterior look to your buildings

Thanks 'jonwil' and 'Lorentzen' for your kind comments, now a Falcon...hmm, a second hand one maybe I'll see after I make that small car for the showroom.

Still more to come.....Brick On !
