What about one if those machines for putting tyres back onto a rim? Should be quite easy?

Well thank you for you comments and suggestion for a tyre fitting machine....I made one of those in the Bridgestone MOC of over a year ago. If I make another in would go in the Michelin Tyre store I have already posted. My car is getting serviced today, so guess what ? I'm going to have a good look around.....I wonder how hard it would be to make a large tension wrench ?

Ah, my friend 'Legostein', I have started vehicle designing but have struck problems so the cab-chassis and a larger car will be the way I'll be going and the showroom will have more gear on display like mug wheels and roo bars.

That will be up tomorrow and I hope for the two vehicles as well....yes, the larger car will be a Falcon and cab-chassis will be the Ranger.

I'm liking the truck 'lightningtiger'.

I think the back is abit high up (in my opinion) Maybe lowering it by one stud would make it look better.

But still the overall design is great and the ford garage is look nice

Thanks for the comments 'TYB', height issue eh ? problem is mounting the tray which is 7 wide and most of these fit by the dealer trays have mudguards which are missing on the other older Aussie Holden ute. See I had to make one of each to keep all the Aussie's happy !

I'll look into a slight redesign today, after checking a few website's belonging to manufacturers of these tray tops.

I haven't followed this thread since it's beginning. But now I thought it was time to take a look at it again. And as ususally, I could see one of your incredible MOCs, LT. Small enough to go for being a classic town building, but yet so detailed. Where other people would just make a building with large windows and a "Ford" sign on the facade, you have gone all the way with the blue edge and signs - and of course - interior. - Keep on... doing the things with the bricks

Thank you 'Iaka' for those very kind words. Now with this vehicle built I can get on with the hardest part of this MOC - the hoist. Why, you may ask ? Well, I'm going for realistic on two points....looks and worse, it will operate like a real one. Ah, you see how much trouble I'm causing my self to make one of these.

Thanks, I have actually worked out that it has too be in two parts - the posts and sliding into those posts the hoist component. The problem will be making it work and stop at a given two preset heights. One for wheel changing and the other for lube/under-vehicle servicing.

The hoist is comming along nicely the only problem is it might not be able to be geared to operate. So I might have to leave it static in the air for display purposes. Oh and it looks a little like the one in the above image of the red car hoist.

When I'm happy with the design today I'll upload fresh pictures and post them here. Any other suggestions for the workshop, feel free to say.

Could you cheat a little and have the uprights extent into the roof, hiding an axle running across the top out of view with wheels and string, or even pulleys with the winding mechanism elsewhere? That way the hoist can be raised both sides simultaneously, possibly with some simple mechanism to stop it at set points? Nothing very technical necessarily. But it would probably pay to weigh the lifting arms down a little for smooth operation (a vehicle should do it- you could always hide something inside- but do give it 50/50 weight distribution to stop the runners from binding from the load twisting).

This dealership is really coming along- I was worried that it would be too small but you've managed to make it big enough I think to convey a sense of being a representative small town local Ford garage.

And don't forget to include a couple of young (or not so young) utterly clueless grease monkeys. This is a Ford garage after all.

This will do the moment, I still have to make the ramps for it though but I think I hit the bullseye on this mini-creation of mine !

Thats to bad, maybe a later mod then? It looks like rearranging those bluish grey tech pins and possibly switching a few others out would be a quick fix. Only speculating, as I can't see all the details of its build. I does, however, inspire me to try and build one. I don't think I could make it in one uniform color but, a prototype seems possible. Do you BL or PAB for the majority of your parts or do you dismantle sets?
