lightningtiger Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Thanks for the comments and suggestions 'Redcross', a dirty floor....already there, it's an early police station driveway baseplate which has seen better days stains and all. Of course there will be more photos of everything when it's finished. Oops, I forgot I must build a realistic John Deere tractor ! Keep on watching everyone.....oh, customers will come after the MOC is done and man, including Mega-MOC there will be lots of customers - dam, I must stop giving out clues it might wreck the surprise ! 5150 Lego Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 G'day everyone, I need some different advice on this MOC now.....what staff do I need here...numbers and who ? At the moment I know I need a spare parts person and at least one mechanic....but who else ? Once the workshops and figures are done, then the tractor sales yard gets done at the same time as Mega-MOC gets off the ground - fingers crossed I actually get a serious start on some of it's buildings tomorrow ! How about a service writer? This is the guy that writes up all the vehicles that come in for repairs and service. And of course some salesmen. And not sure if you have provisions of this in your dealer, but what about a receptionist? Quote

Thanks '5150 Lego', the dealer principal will do most of the selling at the beginning - his daughter will be the receptionist/coffee maker/and the to shock them all...spare parts expert...as on weekends works on an old Customline belonging to her grandfather. Her boyfriend is head mechanic and tractor sales manager. In a country town you have to be a specialist in more than one thing ! I should have these three custom minifigs done by the end of the day.....oh, crap my wife has the camera again ! Updated pictures A.S.A.P ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 A written update, flooring done, interior wall reinforced plus wash-up vanity and spare parts racks. Custom figures and workshop equipment will be done tomorrow. Plus slowly starting to piece together parts of Mega-MOC....new pay-phone, another ATM, working on a set of shop fittings and reception counter.....any guesses what I'm working on next. Keep on watching ! Quote

AussieJimbo Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I was thinking theatre until you said shop fittings. We haven't seen your pub yet have we? (Though that wouldn't really have shop fittings either) :classic: Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 'jonwil' is the closest so far but which one.....note reception desk....not in a store but somewhere.....come fly me.....sailing, we are sailing.....ride on time and a Madonna song of 27 years ago....we need a ......! Keep on watching everyone ! Quote
jonwil Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I think its either a shopping mall with a travel agent or its a transit hub (airport, bus station, boat terminal etc) Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 I think its either a shopping mall with a travel agent or its a transit hub (airport, bus station, boat terminal etc) Okay ! Entrance and first two shops comming soon. Keep watching ! Quote
lego king Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 What other cars are you going to make. (I would love to see a Minifigure scale mustang) Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 What other cars are you going to make. (I would love to see a Minifigure scale mustang) Vehicles are not my strong point and take too long to get right....hence I love building shops and offices...more fun I say ! Though I'm planning a police 4x4 wagon like this at some stage soon ! But before that, the Ford Dealer needs to be done and dusted, plus the Mega-MOC too...as well as a Pub !!! (Don't worry I have not forgotten) ! Keep watching everyone ! Quote
lego king Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Well I am certanly looking foward to seeing the finished model. Great work already. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 Well I am certanly looking foward to seeing the finished model. Great work already. Thanks 'lego king', add up all my MOC's and it's alot and worse it's still growing ! I'm going to try and get the camera back for updates plus a few surprises. Keep watching ! Quote
jonwil Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I built a police wagon like that a while back (although mine was based off a WA police paddy wagon with a cage on the back covered in blue canvas) I am also in the planning stages for a dark blue version of the paddy wagon to represent the railway police vehicle I saw (and photographed) a while back (hopefully I now have enough dark blue to pull it off, plus I still have to figure out what color to use for the base and wheel arches since the wheel arches dont come in dark blue. Thinking black might work for that) Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 Well, I can use either black or DBG for whhel arches, etc., I'll also use the Ranger design -modify to look-holdenish ! Man, there will be no end to this......when Train Show 2013 comes around (the show is every two years) my layout might be the biggest ! Keep on waiting. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2011 Author Posted May 16, 2011 How about a Mad Maxmobile? Ah, the Road Warrior eh ? Well, handy if I'm building a police dog box....just right for Mel if he causes trouble ! Updates....A.S.A.P. ! Quote
LegoCityMann Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 LightningTiger, I can't wait to see the rest of the "Tools" and details. I love the coffee machine you built for the showroom. These are the little detailed things that make Lego so fun. You are one of the people here that inspire me. ~LCM Quote

lightningtiger Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Now quickly, I actually didn't do any work on the Ford Dealership at all today......I did get a good start on MEGA-MOC though....entrance complete, first business finished minus custom figures/stickering, pay-phone installed and so too another ATM.....uploading photos hopefully tomorrow (as long as my wife lends me the camera ! ). I'll be working on both Ford and Mega-MOC's tomorrow too ! Keep on waiting....for those dam photo's....sorry again ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Yeah, I got the camera back for the day......it's update time. Only the tractor yard to be done now plus some of the workshop bing (machinery) will complete this. The mechcanic by test equipment and then operating the hoist The car dealer himself. His hot daughter who looks after the spare parts department. The spare parts racks, a little bare but I hear a shipment is comming ! More to come....comments welcome and Brick On Everyone ! Quote
AussieJimbo Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Nice to see the staff have arrived, LT. Looking forward to seeing the machinery and the tractor yard. :classic: Quote

DJ Force Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Well I must say that is one well built 60's classic 'DJ Force' ! Thank you very much! Seriously, I would be thrilled if you´d rebuild that ´Stang to put it on your used cars yard. I´d send you the LDD file for it, f it helps ;) Quote
TanTile Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 you know what they say, "never trust a man with a beard" i dont think he will get many sales until he is clean shaven... or has some cars in the dealership looking great LT a very slick design there the spare parts department looks ace and that hoist looks wickered!! BTW is it your Printer that's making your decals look all pixelated? it would be such a shame if it were, using them Photo paper sticker sheets and not getting the clarity these so deserve... Quote
