lightningtiger Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Another day, another update.....the building front is finished only the interior must be completed.....should I move the CBC stock to the car dealer or left it in the industrial place....that industrial place is not as important as main street of New Mannum - that's the street where the town centre sign points up. Suggestions, comments the more the merrier, thank you (also thanks to those who help replied before, every little bit helps ). Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) Another written update, I wish the wife will let me use the camera again ! Well, I have set up a display for bearing/pulley/belt sales and considering putting also motor bikes in there too....car dealers in the country are a multipurpose business....example.....Boston Ford, Jamestown, South Australia. Fresh pictures A.S.A.P. ! Edited November 3, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
bootz Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I'm still looking forward to seeing this completed. Selling motorcycles as well as cars is an interesting idea. I'm thinking I may do an octan dealer across the street from Bolt. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Thanks 'bootz' for the feedback and support, I very grateful for it.....thanks again. Currently I'm redesigning the the vehicle lift for the smaller workshop while trying not to clutter up the structure...I want to pack in as much as I can, but not make it look like the dog's breakfast. I'll try to get the camera again today, I have MOC's backing up for first posts and updating ! Well, keep waiting and watching everyone - feel free to still leave build suggestions. Quote

As you saw in mine, the shop is very small and I'm stumped on how to make a life fit. Well, I might have to go and buy my own camera if even it's a crappy one for a while.....but I too am having trouble redesigning my vehicle hoist....practice makes perfect as the old saying goes right ? Keep....you know ! Quote
bootz Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 While its not the best camera, my smart phone works pretty good for this purpose. I have it set so when I take a picture it's automatically uploaded to my Photobucket, taking a whole step out of the process. And even though I can't post the pics to this site from my phone, it at least allows me to be here all day. A worthwhile investment if you don't already have one. Quote

My phone doesn't have Bluetooth, like my earlier one did until it broke....they don't last these days ! Anyway, my lift is going to have four wide support/mechanical posts so it stable and will lock/or not slip with a vehicle on the ramps. Brick On everyone ! Quote

I'll admit I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to technology, but do you need Bluetooth to go on the internet? I just hook up to my house's wi-fi connection and then I have a data plan so I can surf the web without wi-fi. I've never used the Bluetooth on my phone lol. Anyway, the problem I have with building my lift is the part the car sits on. I don't want to have to use ramps to get it onto the lift, but I can't figure out how else to do it. I have one idea I want to try when I get home(assuming I didn't yet my Pet Shop in the mail, in which case I will be building that with my girlfriend). Quote

Lucky you have home wi-fi, my house is stuck in the 1990's ! Also you can not avoid a ramp of some sort...might I suggest the raised workshop floor hence you only need ramps to drive up into the workshop area and straight over the lift....try experimenting 'bootz'....that's what I'm doing. Sadly I might be removing the lift and shifting it to the tyre fitting place next door but they would be linked anyway...next week this might become another mega-MOC. Keep watching and any ideas or suggestions at all for this or anything else in New Mannum again feel free to speak. Quote
bootz Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I have one idea to try later that may not need a ramp at all. We will see if it works. Good luck with yours LT. Quote

Thanks 'bootz' and likewise good luck with yours too. I'll decide tonight if the lift gets shifted and new method of supporting the centre rails of the roller door will be tried or not. Suggestions for this MOC....still open ? Quote
bootz Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I have the mechanism mostly finished. Now I have to work out a few kinks, line the bottom up with the flooring and make it look more like a real lift and not just a few Technic pieces sticking out of a wall. Like you said, practice makes perfect. I must have tried 10 different things last night. Quote

Well, somehow I have designed a brand new hoist design only around midnight....I'm tired and I now must beg the wife for the camera tomorrow I have that much to post ! Oh, I have now built a lawn mower to go on display and trying to find my dirt bikes....plus trying new chain saw and brush cutter designs out......I feel it's the never ending story ! Keep an eye out tomorrow......I hope ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 Even though I haven't got the camera at the moment I have LDD'ed the equipment etc., that will be in the workshop/tyre fitting bay. Have a guess what some of the gear is ? Keep watching ! Quote

Have a guess what some of the gear is ? Keep watching ! I love that wheel balancing machine, it looks almost exactly like the one we have at work! The tire machine is great too, pretty accurate, though ours is top of the line and has more arms and other gadgets. Also, the hammer wouldn't go with that, but with the wheel balancer you use a small hammer to put the wheel weights on the wheel. I like the jack too, nice design, but perhaps it's a bit bulky? Especially compared to the actual lego one. Is that meant to be a socket on the drill? Quote

Thanks 'bootz' just trying out a few new ideas, the jack is the smallest one I can design, the drill is a rattle-gun and I guess those tools could go else where.....tomorrow there will be pictures.....at all last ! Oh, I finally found a picture of inspiration of this redesign and will explain why a few things are happening to it...... Keep watching, keep commenting ! Quote
bootz Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 There's a model we don't get lol. You guys get quite a few we don't Quote

lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Well, an XB eh ? Now that's old school 1970's there ! Anyway, a fresh W-I-P being posted now, heaps still to be done today to it. The tyre bay will be going on the far left. The CBC merchandiser lives here. (sign must still be made for outside....similar to the photo in a few posts back) Brand new lawnmower anyone ? This is the new hoist...still a W-I-P itself....toothed bricks need to increase height plus trouble fitting six plus wide vehicles on ut that problem will be solved. A quick interior view now minus some wall components and stock....oh, and missing the tyre bay too ! Comments and suggestions welcome as always. (This post will be updated later today) Edited November 7, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
jonwil Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nice job there, you gotta have a Falcon though, it just wouldn't be Aussie without one :) Quote
