Superkalle Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I did spend a bit of time trying to reverse engineer this. It is certainly possible to build the roses without using any illegal construction techniques (e.g. glue) though the actual result is a bit fragile. I was not able to make a complete LXF due to some LDD quirks but you can get most of it done in LDD... Great work there hga09. Any chance of sharing the LXF? Quote
hga09 Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Great work there hga09. Any chance of sharing the LXF? Do you know how to upload an LXF file to Eurobricks forums? I tried it yesterday and could not get it to work... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Do you know how to upload an LXF file to Eurobricks forums? I tried it yesterday and could not get it to work... Use Brickshelf. EB's attachment system has a limit on file size. Quote
Superkalle Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Do you know how to upload an LXF file to Eurobricks forums? I tried it yesterday and could not get it to work... If you want to upload a LXF to Eurobricks, you have to change the name to .zip for it to work (EB will not natively accept LXF-files). Otherwise, Brickdoctor's advice is the best - to start an account at Brickshelf. The good thing about Brickshelf is that you can put both images and LXF-files there. Quote
hga09 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Here is the LDD model (zipped LXF file) for the rose... rose.zip Quote
hga09 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 And here is the finished "product"... Mother's Day Roses Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Very nice. I gotta do one of those next year... Quote
AbbieDabbles Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 This reply is really late, but maybe someone can use it next mothers day or valentines day. Here's a link to a LEGO rose for sale on Etsy: Brick Rose Quote
teddyrom Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Hello I know this is very old, but is there any chance to repost the lxf of the rose please? The zip file seems corrupted every time I download it. Thanks! Quote
Calabar Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Which one exactly? I suppose this one. Unfortunately after the forum update many old attachment are gone (all these formats that are now unsupported). But it seems this time you are lucky: I found it in my lxf archive: click. Hope it opens correctly in new versions of LDD. Quote
teddyrom Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 That's exactly this one, and it's awesome! Thanks a lot :)) I'll try to open it tonight in LDD. Quote
