Blue Dolphin Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 The islands of Greek are my dream places, I had planned to build a landscape about the islands when I played Lego again since 2007, and I got the chance finally!! Although it's overbudget, and taking the risk of sunburned (my church). but I was deeply touched by the work with sunshine. My work was reference to Mykonos (one of the most popular island in Greek) First half, the coast is the selling point, I had used various trans-bricks to represent the sea Just relax and enjoy~ :) Front view With sunshine full of cats (Reference to Santorini) The cats are playing The dock The coast size view, the church was lit by spotlight at night My brother and his wife, they just give birth to their son :) Signature :P Thanks for your visit :) Quote
dragonboy79 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I saw this on Brickshelf before, and I saved a picture on my computer because it is so nice! I like the bougainvillea flowers among the white and blue motif. Beautiful work! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 This is just magnificent 'Blue Dolphin' The blue and white colour scheme is really refreshing, I love the stain glass window effect you used on the church. Looks very realistic, and looks great against the white walls. How long did it take to make, I'm guessing a couple of weeks. Again great work! Quote
Wily Manc Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 That's beautiful - the colours are amazing, and every detail is so well imagined - the church windows, the water, the simplicity of the balconies. I especially love the alleyways between the buildings - they're not too busy and you can just imagine being there, it's beautiful! Quote

lightningtiger Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 OMG ! It's like looking a program on the Travel Channel but done all in Lego and the ocean plus the stain-glass windows of the church are totally AWESOME ! In fact the whole creation is just that.....totally AWESOME ! Fantastic work and K.O.B. 'Blue Dolphin' ! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Love it! The colors are perfect, and all the yellow minifigs and touches of red prevent this from becoming a swirly lump of white and blue, so that we can really appreciate all the details. Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Wondeful job! I love the colors and beauty of the model. The water affect is really nice too. I enjoy all of the hidden couples in this romantic scene. Congrats on the baby boy for your brother and his wife. Great work in there! Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 A real beauty, it really captures the spirit of Greece Nice use of those printed (?) bricks for the dock. Keep the Brick Alive! ~Bayonet Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Stunningly beautiful creation Blue Dolphin! Looking at it it's as if you really are in Greece. Even if I've not been to Greece and I've only seen it on tv/movies, the buildings are very realistic-looking with it's white color scheme, box-like shape and overall smooth finish. And the water is simply brilliantly done, gotta love the various color shades to indicate depth changes. Simply a lovely work of art, thanks for sharing this with us! Quote
ManitobaMoe Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 So beautiful. It gives me ideas for my wife's church. Thanks for sharing Quote
Captain Blockbeard Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I love everything about this MOC, but your method for simulating stained glass windows impressed me most of all. (I've been trying to come up with a solution for making effective stained glass windows for a castle chapel MOC.) Quote
