10255-1: Temple Assault

It comes down to this! Tricked into obtaining the 6 mystical treasures only to have them land in the wrong hands, our brave heroes must now venture into Amset-Ra's Temple where ancient rituals are being conducted to increase Amset-Ra's power. Jake Raines, Helena Tova, Mac McCloud, and Professor Archibald Hale are the only people standing in the way of Amset-Ra's conquest for world domination. Will they be able to breach the Temple and finally put Amset-Ra and his minions to rest?!

  • The open-air temple uses a hinge system for easy access to the inner court and allows for different configurations for extended play!
  • Furnishings and decor inspired by depictions of Ancient Egypt in its prime! Includes an urn, wash basin, treasure chest, sarcophagus, sorcerer's table, two potted plants and two floor lamps!
  • Desert Pickup Truck has seating for two and features a truck bed with room for two more passengers and a weapon crate for the assault on the Temple!
  • Temple measures 12.5'' long x 9'' wide x 7.5'' high when closed and 8'' long x 19'' wide x 7.5'' high when opened wide!
  • Includes Jake Raines, Helena Tova, Mac McCloud, Professor Archibald Hale, Pharaoh Amset-Ra, Snake Sorcerer Apep, 2 flying mummy figures, 2 mummy warriors and 1 Anubis statue!

Hello Eurobricks members and thank you for reading. I would like to present my humble offering to the D2C Contest: Temple Assault. I drew inspiration from artist recreations of ancient, open-air Egyptian temples, and tried my best to keep to the colors, themes and design philosophies that were used in the Pharaoh's Quest line. The end I result, I hope, is something that you would enjoy!

Temple Assault features an open-air temple that opens up via hinges. The center courtyard is left open for various setups and play, similar to the marketplace in Medieval Market Village (10193) and the street stores of Diagon Alley (10217).

Bird's eye view

Also of note is the dark red Desert Pickup Truck (because no Pharaoh's Quest set would be complete without a beautiful dark red vehicle!).

The set also features Snake Sorcerer Apep who is using the power of the six mystical treasures in an ancient ritual to return Amset-Ra to his former glory.

Snake Sorcerer Apep conducts the ritual while the battle goes on around him

I made a conscious decision early on not to include any large creature to present a gargantuan challenge to Jake Raines and company because I wanted to hit a particular piece count goal and associated cost. In compensation, I focused on making sure the temple itself was chock full of detail. If I had more time I would've created a companion set that featured such a beast along with a pyramid/hill (and therefore internal basement) for the temple to sit on.

A confrontation waiting to happen...

My main goal in creating Temple Assault was to show restraint while creating a visually striking and desirable D2C set, particularly to those who are already fans of the Pharaoh's Quest line. It would make me very happy if just one Eurobricks member wishes he/she could purchase this set having seen it.
