Peanuts Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I'd like to see some lego children, do the minifigures reproduce by cellular mitosis or something? You could have a child with a kitten or something along those lines. Well, there are children in some city sets, so I doubt TLG will do a collectible fig with such an undefinite occupation. I completely agree with you all that this list is obviously a fake. I really wonder which figs series 6 will contain, I'm especially excited for the historical minifig(s), as I considered them being the best ones so far. Quote
Tamamono Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Come on now, that list is so obviously fake it isn't even funny. Another evil scientist? A female racer and a female builder? An announcer (of what)? A snow shoveler?! Where's the variety, besides? That's just someone's personal wishlist, that's all. I know! I think LEGO might use some of the ideas from the "What minifigs are we missing?" thread; I remember seeing 'detective' as a suggestion at one point, and now there's a detective in Series 5. (Although it may be pure coincidence) Quote

(Although it may be pure coincidence) Actually, most of the figs since series three were already suggested in the thread, such as the Race Car Driver, the Soccer Player, Rocker of course, Hockey Player, Sailor, and lots more. Of course this may be only coincidence (we've posted quite a lot of suggestions in there), but it seems logical for Lego to act on suggestions by fans. Quote
vexorian Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I doubt they'd do that after just releasing an entire Space wave and rereleasing 10213. It could happen. They basically made a squidman repeat in Series 3 just a year after his set was released. But the list is probably fake. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I, too, am really hoping for some kids in these new series, too (I mean: without kids Lego City won't have any future). At least that the clown in series 5 wears kids' pants gives some hope. According to a new sports minifigure, I'd say it is very supposably that we'll see a basketball player with basketball soon, don't you think? And for a historical minifigure I wouldn't be surprised if we got a Roman soldier and a Mongolian warrior. A damsel of the castle would be a dream - but since TLG concentrates more on male minifigures, I doubt it. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Ralph Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 This great news! Guess I will need to keep my second job... Ralph Quote
tafkatb Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I've said before I really want some more musician figs, and it seems quite likely we'll get more as they're one of the established "sub-series" of minifigs (Pop Star, Maraca Man, Hula Girl, Rapper, Punk Rocker). I'd really love to see a marching band fig - I've never been into army-building, but marching-band-building, that I could get behind! Quote
Angeli Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 yup, maybe in those 6,7,8 I will see more bad guys that could be used in medieval fantasy settings, and something with wings :) Quote

Klaus-Dieter Since we are going with theories: I think we could have a Mayincatec warrior in the next series. The circus sub-theme seems a bit exhausted so far but perhaps they will add a trapeze artist. I also see some sandwich or other kind of food costume guy in the future to keep on the costume trend. And a greek philosopher / roman emperor could happen. I think we'll be seeing more remakes of series 1, a new robot may be coming soon. I agree it is also time that there is a basketball player. It would be hillarious if they used long legs on him, to make him different from the many NBA players that already abound. I would say a generic referee fig that could work in many different settings (sports) is also coming. Edited July 5, 2011 by vexorian Quote

Mr. Elijah Timms Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Would LOVE to see a Greek figure, toga and laurel wreath, etc... but I'm holding out hope that the lack of a fig might (possibly) be indicative of a full line that will roll out in the next year or two...? Yeah, I know I'm dreaming. Quote
Miss Kyle Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Specifically, I want a drummer and a sousaphonist. I think we need a special orchestra minifig series :) I'd certainly buy it! Quote
tafkatb Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Specifically, I want a drummer and a sousaphonist. I would love a sousaphone. It's what I played in high school marching band! I still think a trombone would be the most likely piece if we're to see a new instrument mold, but we can dream... Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Last year Klaus-Dieter provided us right info about the upcoming 3rd series of january (when actually 2nd was coming to shops)... so PLEASE someone reveal which are the new minifigures? I am quite sure the leakings are false (too many city-centered minifigures), so please any one? XD Quote
mo123567 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Maybe Lego will keep series 6 a secret until after series 5 is released. If they release pictures of series 6 then I'll be searching for series 7. I'm always anticipating collectable minifigures. There are so many great ideas out there that have yet to be made, plus, I would love to have a caveman tribe, an elven village, a horde of zombies, etc... by series 50+. I hope this goes on for a long time. Quote
Rufus Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Please use the following thread for further discussion: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58350 I'm going to close this thread temporarily, and move some of the series 6 posts across. Rufus Edit: All posts related to the new Series 6 pictures have been moved across to the new Series 6 discussion thread. This thread will stay closed for now to prevent confusion Quote
Brickity Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think it won't take that long until the pics get leaked! I would only like to see up to a 10th series, and after that, something completely new from LEGO! Quote
mo123567 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 -Sci I was kidding. I have no idea what's coming next, other than what is obvious, and I've seen no evidence that anyone else does either. There's no evidence of that many more. My opinion is that it won't last much longer. There's no evidence of more series past 8 as far as I know but there is also no evidence that it will stop anytime soon. I think it won't take that long until the pics get leaked! I would only like to see up to a 10th series, and after that, something completely new from LEGO! LEGO can always do something new. They do not have to stop the CMF line in order to do so. If you are bored after 10 series, just don't buy them anymore. A lot of people including myself would love for these to continue for a long time. We have a lot of very specific minifigs that may have never been made if not for the CMF line and I can think of countless more that I would like to see. The CMF line and the modular buildings are my two favorate things LEGO has ever done... well other than the invention of LEGO in the first place. Based on what? I know the later series have stayed in stores a lot longer than the first two, but as far as I can tell they're still very strong sellers overall. Do you know something I don't? The first two series had smaller production runs. Products are supposed to be available in the stores. I always see Star Wars sets in the stores but no would would question their popularity. LEGO is just meeting the demand now so they are not sold out and nearly impossible to find anymore. Quote
ACWWgal2011 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Indeed, although he was more specific than simply saying there'll be sports figures; he (she?) said there'd be sports, but not skaters, skiers, snowboarders or surfers. We'll find out soon enough, of course. Based on what? I know the later series have stayed in stores a lot longer than the first two, but as far as I can tell they're still very strong sellers overall. Do you know something I don't? I meant to say theroy and back up with my thoughts but i ran out of time. My theroy is that it might not last longer since isn't lego famous for killing off popular themes and specific sets in the prime of their life? Quote

Yeah, that's kind of what I was getting at - I meant that just because we do see the later series stay around in stores longer doesn't mean they aren't selling well. As far as I can tell, they do still sell well; it's not like Series 3 and 4 are still widely available everywhere. I meant to say theroy and back up with my thoughts but i ran out of time. My theroy is that it might not last longer since isn't lego famous for killing off popular themes and specific sets in the prime of their life? Well... somewhat, but not exactly. Certainly they don't seem to kill off whole themes that go among their top sellers, and I can see Minifigures being something of an "evergreen" theme, like City or Star Wars - it's just too popular, especially since each new "wave" tends to have something for fans of nearly every other LEGO theme out there. TLG does kill off specific "sets" here - each series is basically a set (or rather, sixteen different sets), which is/are available for only a few months, for the most part. Quote

Usually that reason comes in the form of "the theme is no longer making us as much money as we could be making on new product lines". We have seen nothing to suggest that the Minifigures theme has been anything but an outstanding success. Quote

Seems like in the cases of not making enough money, they could just put the line on a temporary hiatus and make a comeback at another time. The stuff i keep hearing has the highest demand in popularity is all the discontinued stuff. Honestly if it wouldn't be so much, i'd be vintage hunting also. I almost never hear people wanting recently discontinued stuff but i hear lots of depends for 1990's stuff. Especially if paradisa came back, THAT would be a girls set i'd like Edited May 15, 2012 by ACWWgal2011 Quote
eiker86 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Isn't it comfirmed 16 series? No, unless you know something that we don't. Have read the article in Brick Journal up and down without finding the information I heard. So properly a misunderstanding. Quote
escortmad79 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 There's no evidence of that many more. My opinion is that it won't last much longer. Yes cos Lego are about to pull the plug on their biggest cash cow! Quote
Solscud007 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Yes cos Lego are about to pull the plug on their biggest cash cow! I dunno. From what I see at my local TRU, Walmarts, and Targets there are lots of CMF series left over. Which means those stores are not buying more until they deplete their existing stock. They might trim production back as demand is not as high. I think they are over producing. Which will hurt the line in the long run. Quote
