Looks like the four series in 2022 rumor was false, as well as the rumors of a Mario figure six pack and Marvel Series 2. According to Electric Bricks, we’re just getting three. Series 22, The Muppets and Series 23. Series 23 will presumably be some sort of anniversary series, because I don’t know why else Lego would break their pattern of having each annual series correspond with the year. (It makes me wonder if they’re going to do three licensed series next year so they can still have Series 24 in 2024.)

I’m a bit bummed that the four series rumor is false. Having four 12 figure CMF series each year would have given us the same number of minifigs as the old way of doing three 16 figure series each year. I didn’t mind that as much when Lego moved to 12 figures in each series for 2021, as there was also those Vidiyo Bandmates series which were essentially two extra CMFs. Oh well, I’ve still really enjoyed each series since the change anyway.

If Series 23 is indeed an anniveary set this year, why Lego would do that?

I mean Series 22 would be a great choice for an anniveary series to be released on New Year’s Day with a nice bang… it’s pretty odd to see 3 licensed series in 2023 as @The Stud said above

Thank you very much for the news, @The Stud! :classic:

Since I always prefer unlicensed Lego products over licensed ones, I really like it that we're getting a second unlicensed series this year!

Could the 90th anniversary of Lego series include 12 minifigs of the most famous past and current unlicensed themes (like City, Friends, Castle, Space, Pirates, Adventurers, Western, Ninjago, Atlantis, Technic, Ice Planet and Duplo)?

Maybe LEGO is running out of licenses to use in the CMF theme? Simpsons, Disney & probably Harry Potter are all "dead" themes for CMF?

I’m not 100% convinced they run out of licensed out. I don’t know why I’m not convinced that way but it would be weird to see 3 licensed sereis in 2023 if there is no single series.

But I really don’t think Disney Series is dead…yet. And I’m not sure about Looney Tunes Series 2.

I wouldn't worry about Disney just yet, we are still getting CMFs based on Disney properties (Marvel last year, Muppets this year) so they probably just don't want to overload a single year with Disney-based CMFs. I could see us getting Disney Series 3 next year, unless Marvel Series 2 or a Star Wars CMF happens.

I don’t think we will have a Star Wars CMF at all. An I don’t care about Marvel Sereis that much. I only want Disney Series 3 like Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Mad Hatter, Jim (from Treasure Planet), Arthur and more.

The Super Mario 6-pack was false? If that’s the case, then what will the 6-pack be based on?

Just Muppets and Series 23 in a different box size

LEGO® Collectable Minifigures - Minifiguren Serie 22 – 6er-Pack 66700 (2022) | LEGO® Preisvergleich brickmerge.de

Up until Series 22, these smaller boxes had their own numbering, but from Muppets onwards, they will part of the normal CMF numbering

So, 71033 and 71034 are both Muppets, just different box size

And 71035 and 71036 are both Series 23, just different box size

Oh, now I understand. Thanks for the clarification.

I’d be interested to know what the most popular unlicensed themes to be made into a minifigure in a CMF are. City, Friends, Duplo, Adventurers, Ninjago, Castle, Space, Pirates, while the last three have been done a few times,  definitely. Maybe Western. But Ice Planet, Atlantis, not sure.
Maybe TLM, Architecture, Fabuland or Chima, Bionicle, Pharaoh’s Quest for a bit of variety.

I doubt Ice Planet would be in CMF, while nothing has been confirmed, trans-neon orange has not been in seen in any 2021 or 2022 sets after Story of Nian, and LEGO did reference Ice Planet in 2 torsos in their Ice Festival set.

LEGO even gave one of those figures an orange snow helmet that's new in that color for 2022.

I think if LEGO still produced trans-neon orange it probably would've at least used 1 part in that color.

Just my thoughts, hopefully I'm wrong and the color comes back, especially on the space cockpit from 76832: XL-15 Spaceship

Well, I mean, Lego is very unpredictable.

I know they'll never do it because there's no demand for most (if any) of these, but I'd love a CMF series that gives us characters we never had in minifigure form from original Lego themes or from Lego cartoon series, to complete the character line ups.

Like, I'd love to see  Vortech, Gripe, Miss Demeanour, Lady E, Roberto Arnoldi, Korgran, Strong Spider, Vangelis, Selma, Skales Jr, First Spinjitzu Master, Fugi-Dove, Dom De La Woosh, Gayle Gossip, The Tighty Knighties, Racer Seven, Mayor of Megapolis, Kataru, Dr Julien, Dr Drewell, Jay's Mother, Pre-Evil Jestro, Antonia, Cyrus Borg, ShadoWind, Jay's adopted parents, The little girl form of Lady Bone Demon, Fuchsia Ninja, Plundar, Fungus, Plovar  etc

Will it be likely for Seamsae Street CMF to happen?

I am pretty sure we will see Disney Series 3, Looney Tunes Series 2, and Muppets Series 2 will happen in a few years. I don’t think we will see Harry Potter Series 3.

And, personally, I hope Lego would produced licensed CMF series that based off Cartoon Network characters, such as Ed, Edd & Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Powerpuff Girls (I know we thaT theme a few years ago…), Adventure Time, Dexter & Deedee, etc etc.
