Sorrelon Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Ninjago series makes a little sense because the character variants seem to be so popular, and apparently there are a number of major civilians that have not been made yet (not sure, never watched the show). Disney makes complete sense because there is an enormous stable of Disney movie leads (20-30 movies for 50-60 potential characters at least) and there have only been a handful of Disney sets to date. Batman makes NO sense because there are only 20 or so main characters in the series and THEY HAVE ALL BEEN RELEASED IN SETS!!! MULTIPLE TIMES. I don't want any more variants or any more batman villains (Please can I waste a CMF series on a new Killer Croc, a Toy Master (or whatever his name is) and a "Batman in track suit" figure?) No thank you. I completely agree with you. A single Ninjago series actually makes sense, as they might use alternate minifigures of each character(like CMF Emmet and Emmet from Lego Movie sets). But a whole CMF series on Batman would be a complete waste. We have several different Batman minifigs all of which have already been released with Batman sets. Besides, there would be no regular CMF series in 2017 that way, which makes absolutely no sense. Quote
DarrellBricker Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 If it was a way to get more B-list or obscure DC characters, I'd welcome a Lego Batman CMF line, but I'm afraid we'd get like four variations of Batman and then filler, which is not something I would want to see. Time will tell, I suppose. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 On another not, that snorkeler on page 10 with the purple octopus is cool. I'd like to see that soon. Quote
retrotaco Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Everything released about the Lego Batman movie sounds like it'll incorporate EVERY iteration of Batman - the old show, the Burton movies, the 90's movies, the Nolan Trilogy, some of the animated shows, etc., so they could POSSIBLY release a kinda cool variation of Batman/Robins/etc., which would be cool cause if you wanna buy them, there they are, and then you don't get saddled with them in a set or something. I know I'd be excited, I'm always down to expand Batman's Batsuit Gallery lol Quote
Robert8 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 After seeing the Disney Series pic, it's pretty obvious Series 2 is planned (releasing Stitch without Lilo pretty much gives it away) So, it seems we are indeed facing a whole year without regular numbered series Sigh... Quote

Sorry Rob, but what? We've got Series 16 to look forward to, and Jan17's series is probably normal, I don't think we're getting a Batman one. Quote
Robert8 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 How is this a logical conclusion to jump to? just2good said we *might* be getting LEGO Batman Movie and Ninjago Movie CMF waves. Given the release dates, those would be the Jan 2017 and the Sep 2017 CMF series. And given the characters chosen for the Disney series, it's safe to assume there will be-at least-another one. That would be the May 2017 wave. Jan17's series is probably normal, I don't think we're getting a Batman one. I hope you're right I'd would be ok with at least 1 normal series Quote

Dorayaki Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Im as bummed as most people here abiut the potential absence of regular series in 2017, but... A lot of people here seem to be forgetting that this is The LEGO Movie version of Batman, which makes me think the film (and a potential CMF series) will focus on original quirky characters rather than new versions of the Bat family or the rogues gallery. If there are restrictions on licnesed characters as CMFs then packing the series with original characters is one way around it. The licnsed characters could stay exclusive to the sets based on the movie - assuming these restrictions exist for the DC theme and that TLG wont negotiate arund them. Batman and Ninjago series could actually offer plenty in the way of City and Sci-Fi figures, and maybe some Asian-flavored Historic figures in the case of Ninjago (or at least some useful parts). Admittedly, Im grasping at straws here. I think that depends on whether the characters from LEGO Batman are licensed by LEGO or DC. If, like you say, nobody beside Batman relate to the DC franchises and the movie is more like Batman's viewpoint of the Bricksburg world, that could happen.(But if we're talking about the story itself, I rather wonder if TLM fans and DC fans would really be interested in a movie like that?) I completely agree with you. A single Ninjago series actually makes sense, as they might use alternate minifigures of each character(like CMF Emmet and Emmet from Lego Movie sets). Uh well.... I don't think I'm interested in this Ninjago series which also just rehashes all of the familiar Ninjago heroes. Probably only if the variants are very interesting or many exclusive items are included. Aside from some of the heroes,I might imagine that it gives some side characters from the TV series, exclusive ones from the movie and some Japanese-oriented personalities. Quote
x105Black Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 If they're doing LEGO Batman and Ninjago, I sure hope they do a whole series of Nexo Knights! That would be so neat! Maybe some of them could be villagers or those cool robots! Quote

The Sarge Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I always think of that with Star Wars, but I forget that Marvel & DC have the same mini figure restrictions. I'm thinking that the CMF series could be a work-around, since they're marketed as a collectible, not as a action figure - just like the battle packs use the small vehicle or scenery to work around the same requirement. If that's what they're doing, I'd love a Star Wars line. I'd want to see at least: Yellow-trim R3 from Echo Base (not the orange one in the UCS set) Blue- or green-trim R5 Imperial Officer with unique rank squares New normal Grand Moff Tarkin And for accessories this would allow us some new molds or prints for things like SW tools, credit chips, or backpacks. CM4Sci Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Not LEGO, but some rather impressive knockoffs from Enlighten. Edited April 8, 2016 by CM4Sci Quote

Wardancer Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Wow, the bear looks super cuddly. Even Bretter than the TLG China bears. Quote
x105Black Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I like that bear suit guy. I would hope they are not all in the same box, as you can't feel them like you can the blind bags. Quote
telaruhn Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Interesting knockoff figures. I especially like the chef, the cupid, and the tiki man/witch doctor (?) in the second photo. Would be great to see more photos of these, especially ones of the physical figure, as I can't seem to find them anywhere. The boxes are also interesting - it does seem like you get all 8 in 1 box, which would be great for collectors but not so much for army builders Quote
Mr Greeble Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Knockoffs that aren't just copies of existing Lego things?! Some of those look pretty cool. Quote
Robert8 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Wow those look amazing! I expect some of these to appear in the CMF at some point: Nutcracker, Cupid, Chef, Warlord, Pilot, Kindergarten Girl, Witch Doctor... Quote
x105Black Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 The boxes are also interesting - it does seem like you get all 8 in 1 box, which would be great for collectors but not so much for army builders I was thinking it was one per box, but the boxes are all identical. Without the ability to feel, it would be too random and I'd never be happy. All 8 in one box would be fantastic. Quote
