Is there gonna be next wave this year, apart of series 23? It seems as if the January series will be Series 24. *Sometimes* the January series start showing up in shops in late December, but technically they’re next year’s release. There's still a lot of characters we've yet to see. I'm sure if they do another one it will include remakes of some of the recent Mickey & Friends ones lowering the number of actual new figures we might get. I still would like to know why they won't make the Snow White & Seven Dwarfs set that was on Ideas. Quote

To be honest, I do hope TLG would focus on Disney Seires 3 instead of Marvel Series 2 - Marvel property is owned by Disney and it may be possible to release that series 2 becuase of Disney+ tv shows scheduling to be released next year. So yeah - there are many, many characters out there in the field that need to be morphed into minifigures we wish for like Belle, the Beast, Cinderella, Flynn, Rapunzel, Lilo, Wendy Darling, and more. I was very interested in that Ideas set but i still don’t understand why they decided to not do it. ;/ Oh and I’m quite hoping for Lion King characters even they are not humanoid to be minifigures for Disney Series. I guess a D2C set will do good. Quote

We had first series in 2016, second in 2019, I thought it would be 2022, I hope for 2023 ! It's a shame, 3 or 4 years between each Disney series, it's hard to wait knowing all the materials LEGO could do with Disney/Pixar characters. Plus, the 2 series were accompagned by a D2C (Disney Castle in 2016, Train and Station in 2019). I don't know if the train and station set was a good selling ? It stayed 2 years on sell whereas the Castle is still on sell after 6 years. If series 3 is coming, I would say a D2C is coming too, maybe one in order to replace the Castle ? Quote
Karalora Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I can easily believe the Disney Train didn't sell as well as the Castle. It's nowhere near as iconic a structure. Everyone with access to media knows what "the Disney Castle" looks like, but the only way you're acquainted with the train station is if you've been to one of the parks or otherwise take a specific interest. Of course, this raises the question of what the third most recognizable Disney theme park building would be, to maintain the pattern. My sister thinks it's the Mark Twain/Liberty Belle (a paddlewheel steamship found in Frontierland). It's not a bad guess, but considering they already did the Steamboat Willie set, I would hope for something more unique. Space Mountain is pretty distinctive, but it would be fiendishly difficult to design in LEGO format and it's not easy to imagine characters to include with it. Now that we have a micro-version of Anaheim's Haunted Mansion, it's hard to imagine TLG springing for a full-sized one. Orlando's Haunted Mansion seems like a possibility though. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I'd say Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Quote
natesroom Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 if you live in orlando/Florida its Castle, Epcot Ball, then Splash Mountain for most iconic and its been that way for 30 years. POTC is a pretty iconic and popular ride and it still plays with the disney pirates theme they have had since the 50's with treasure island and swiss family Robinson... Quote
Karalora Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Man, I would be ecstatic if they did Sleeping Beauty Castle. I wouldn't expect another castle, but I guess it's been long enough since the first one that it's not out of the realm of possibility. I would just hope it wouldn't be the same exact concept (miniature scenes referencing different fairy tale movies) in a different shell, as it were. The interior of the Anaheim castle is a series of dioramas telling the story of Sleeping Beauty, and it would be interesting to see them attempt that instead. Quote

You say Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, great idea but which one ? The one in Paris in pink (!) plus it's the only one with a dragon lair and the dragon, imagine that in D2C ? We already had Maleficient, in series 3 we could have Aurora + the 3 fairies. It seems good combination. Quote
Lion King Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 (edited) Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland is way smaller than Cinderella Castle at Disney World but I am pretty sure the desginers would make the castle in a (slightly) large scale. Of course there may be something interesting other than the mere theme park. What if they could do Pride Rock (from Lion King) or Ariel’s treasure room (The Little Meramid) or Mulan’s training camp (from Mulan) or something like that. By the way this forum is for future CMF discussion, not just Disney theme… Let’s go back to the CMF topic. :) Edited August 21, 2022 by DBlegonerd7 Quote
ToaIruini Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Microscale EPCOT World Showcase would be neat too. I don't think it's what they would go with, but I'd love it. Quote
Lion King Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 A random thought just popped into my head. Would you like ot see the Monstter series’ come back? You know, we had Series 14 aka the Monster Series back in 2015. That series was so fun to collect! I know there are more monsters that we don’t get in CMF - like Frankensteine’s Monster’s Wife, Grim Reaper, Vampire Wife, Werewoman, two-head man, slime man, ghost, dark fairy and a few more. Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 No idea how reliable they are, but jinzol_lego on IG reports that 71038 could be a new Disney series to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Hope that‘s true! Quote

So far we have two costume-themed series, one monster-themed series. I like the regular themed series. :) Probably there would be a zombie knight in the monster series for you, lol. Or undead king? Or a man-eating princess? Or a witch queen? I guess you will have a new Halloween castle. Just kidding. 3 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: No idea how reliable they are, but jinzol_lego on IG reports that 71038 could be a new Disney series to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Uhhh, Yeah you make a good point about six pack but… it kinda doens’t make sense tho. I mean, Muppets Seriies (71033) was released in May and it has its own 6 Pack was sold on S@H and then now Series 23 has that 71094? There is no six pack for Series 23? EDIT: I just researched a bit more on six packs. I think I see your point. But still no six pack for Series 23… Edited August 26, 2022 by DBlegonerd7 Quote
Lion King Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) Wait a minute, I think 71038 should not be seires 24 six pack. @Robert8 I just noticed “pattern”. The serie Ives that are released throughout 2022 have their own numbers - even 6 Pack sets have their own set numbers. 71032 - Series 22 71033 -Muppet Series 71034 - Series 23 71035 - Muppet Series 6 Pack 71036 - Series 23 6 Pack Strange enough, Series 22 - 6 Pack had set number 66700 instead of 710xx. Here is my speculation. What if…. TLG would follow the “pattern” CMF series next year? 71037 - Series 24 71038 - ??? (Disney Series 3???) 71039 - ??? 71040 - Series 24 6 Pack (???) 71041 - ??? 6 Pack Remember, this is the pure speculation I came up with. But I think it may make sense why 71038 would be Disney Series 3 IF it’s confirmed…. Edited August 27, 2022 by DBlegonerd7 Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Other sources are now reporting on the same rumour too! Hope it’s true! My only fear is retreats, which would be pretty bad, especially considering we‘re down to 12 minifigs now. A far cry from the first series with 18 figures! In my opinion, still one of TLG’s worst decisions in recent memory. Sometimes I look at the Marvel, Looney Tunes, and Muppets series, wondering which 4 characters each we could‘ve had Quote

Something like pride rock would be certainly a popular set for itself but it would not make much sense to put Uncle Scrooge or Mulan between the lions. It could always be released without a cmf (i honestly expected it after seeing the new lion moulds.). I think it is pretty much guaranteed we will get a new Disney cmf at some point with or without a D2C. They sold well. To be honest I am not looking forward to it that much. We won't get characters like Meg and Phil because they won't be sold without Hercules and Hades in the same series... Same for most other characters I'd like to get. The "1 character per bag" rule, that seems to be there, is also a huge letdown. Not having Jago and Abu as a little mould is just sad. I'm glad we got at least a mould for Pluto from the firefighter set. Of course there would not be a cool little Mushu mould coming with Mulan. If for example "Inside out" is included, there won't be all the emotions included and I doubt the left out ones will appear in a series 4, if Joy and Sadness are already done. I hope for at least one new well done Ducksburg character. Pete should be a big fig released in a regular set. Quote
