I thought the idea behind the castle and train was to fill them up with the cmf figures. Something like pride rock would be certainly a popular set for itself but it would not make much sense to put Uncle Scrooge or Mulan between the lions. It could always be released without a cmf (i honestly expected it after seeing the new lion moulds.).

I think it is pretty much guaranteed we will get a new Disney cmf at some point with or without a D2C. They sold well.

To be honest I am not looking forward to it that much. We won't get characters like Meg and Phil because they won't be sold without Hercules and Hades in the same series... Same for most other characters I'd like to get. The "1 character per bag" rule, that seems to be there, is also a huge letdown. Not having Jago and Abu as a little mould is just sad. I'm glad we got at least a mould for Pluto from the firefighter set. Of course there would not be a cool little Mushu mould coming with Mulan. If for example "Inside out" is included, there won't be all the emotions included and I doubt the left out ones will appear in a series 4, if Joy and Sadness are already done. I hope for at least one new well done Ducksburg character. Pete should be a big fig released in a regular set.

I thought  this thread was Disney thread, not future CMF serie I realized we weret of topic. So sleeping beauty’s castle or pride rock have nothing to Dwight CMF topic here, oops.

Other sources are now reporting on the same rumour too! Hope it’s true! :excited: My only fear is retreats, which would be pretty bad, especially considering we‘re down to 12 minifigs now. A far cry from the first series with 18 figures!

In my opinion, still one of TLG’s worst decisions in recent memory. Sometimes I look at the Marvel, Looney Tunes, and Muppets series, wondering which 4 characters each we could‘ve had :cry3:

That’s a good news for Disney Series! It is a long overdue since 2019.

I dunno. I think if *any* licensed series could break the new normal of 12 figures, it’s Disney. And two complete sets of a series of 18 would fit perfectly in the new boxes of 36…

Well then the numbering must be

71034 is Series 23 full box

71035 is Muppets six pack

71036 is Series 23 six pack

71037 is Series 24 full box

71038 is Disney Series 3

71039 is Series 24 six pack

I did tag you in my post earlier…. But don’t forget about third unknown series in 2023, let’s leave 71039 alone.

As much as I like my standard non-licensed series, I’m very happy to finally be getting Disney “Series 3” next year, though they won’t be referring to it as such. The first series is one of my all time favorites and I really like the second one as well.

I do kinda worry that this means that we won’t get Marvel Series 2 next year. Would Lego be willing to have a Disney and Marvel series back-to-back since they’re both under the same umbrella?

Yeah. Well, I won’t worry about not getting MarvelSeries 2 just yet. Marvel and Looney Tunes series were released in 2021 so i kinda think it may be another series for Looney Tunes next year.  Or another regular series? I sure hope so, lol.

I do think it diminishes the chances for a Marvel S2 next year. That would 3 be Disney series very close to each other (Muppets, Disney 100 and Marvel 2)

Hopefully DC series 2 but thats just wishful thinking. Best case scenario for me personally is Series 25.

Come to think about it, this would be the series that introduces boxes. It feels like it would make more sense to do it with a regular series

After I posted my earlier comment I realised this. Although I wouldn't put it past LEGO to try it with a "fragile-but-potentially-succesful" IP and blame the failure on the IP rather than the boxes.

Speaking of “blind” boxes….

I wonder if we would be able to order any 6 Packs for the third unknown series in 2023? You know, with pack, it won’t duplicate figures?

I feel the opposite. It might ease people into the change a bit better if they introduce the boxes with a highly requested licensed series, versus just a standard non-licensed one. People will buy the packs anyway if it were to be Marvel series 2 for example, but people might be less eager if it were just Series 25.

I don’t know. I mean, yeah we know the third serie will introduce us “blind” boxes. But will TLG continue that “blind” boxes after the third series?

If the Disney series releases in May it should still be in bags shouldn't it?  I thought the boxes were expected to start with the September 2023 release?

That is my understanding as well.

I’m interested to see how big of a failure the boxes will be. I know it will be the end of CMF for me at retail. I refuse to support this terrible idea.

Yeah. That’s what I heard.

I will not buy these boxes in stores directly but I would order the speicific minifigures off ebay, Bricklink, or Amazon.

If I’m honest with myself, I’ll probably do the same if there are any minifigs that are absolute must-haves, but I’m not happy admitting that. I would rather we all stand in solidarity and we boycott the boxes altogether.

But, the point is moot if TLG wises up and puts some sort of code on the boxes so we can tell what’s inside. That’s a hoop I don’t mind jumping through.

That would only work if we all did it or a lot of us at least, since that is not happening this will only end up with you unhappy since you are missing out on figs you really want :def_shrug: So instead it is probably better to stop buying random figs and only buy from places where you know what you get. I am sure the sales will go down and if enough people give feedback TLG might do something, but they are supposed to be blind bags after all we are just "cheating" now. Maybe AFOLs will start swamping figs whenever we meet, however some army-builder figs or new animal moulds etc are bound to be more popular than others. A thing Lego brand stores should have is, buy a fig, open it, if you do not want it you could swap it directly with another from that series from a selection of say 20 open figs :classic:

Honestly, the more I think about this change to boxes, the more I wonder how this is going to go over with the general public. Most of the AFOL/TFOL community obviously don’t like this, and also aren’t buying that environmental factors were the sole reason for this change, but I’m wondering about the casual parents/grandparents/other relatives and their kids. Nowadays, I don’t feel like it’s super uncommon to see people that aren’t hardcore collectors feeling for these packs at the store, or at least not as rare as it used to be. That option is officially off the table starting next September.

And for those of us trying to collect all the series, I’m worried that we’re going to have to pay even more of a premium to buy full sets online at sites like minfiiguresplus or Bricklink since the sellers are likely going to have no choice but to open up the packs.

Here is my opinon, I do not see that we woul another Marvel Studio series next year. MCU is already loaded with too much content…  I feel like it’s best for TLG to ignore Disney+ series.

I doubt they’ll ignore the Disney+ series entirely, but I think the way Star Wars has been forced to handle it is a much better format: small to medium sized sets focused on introducing several characters from the same show along with decent builds. For all the Marvel CMF was well executed, the one thing I saw multiple people whinging about was that all of the four shows featured had notable characters ‘missing’. Doing full sets would circumvent that (and leave more CMF slots open for themes that don’t get multiple waves of sets per year).

Sure, you are probably right. I mean, there is a problem - 12 slots for minifigures to be produced per series now. It’s pretty difficult for TLG to select popular characters from Disney+ tv show as MCU continues expanding. Also, it’s more harder to please AFOL.

just like you said, small or medium sized Star Wars sets introducing several characters do sound nice. It would be great if Marvel theme has small or medium sized sets that based off Disney+ shows. Still, too much content for MCU tho.

Oh and don’t forget about the boxed packages.
