Yeah, I never thought they'd add anything to them after cutting down on the amount. Sadly, it just seems like they had to downgrade/cute down on them in order to cut costs. It's happening with a lot of things in recent years, including other toy lines and products. It's really bad for consumers, if you ask me. In the case of CMFs, I prefer more variety, not less.

I suspect so - we had Monster Series aka Series 14.

I actually don´t think so. Monsters was kinda the theme for the normal Series, but in this case it feels more like a Series of the theme Space - kinda like the Series for Ninjago Movie, Lego Movies and so on. In the end however it doesn´t really matter how they name it in the end lol.

I disagree with you. They put “MONSTERS” word on blind bags in 2015 while other regular sereis didn’t recieve any “speical treatment” just like Series 14. I don’t know why there are no “branding” on Series 18 and 23 if they are costume/party-themed series.

However,  from what we have seen so far, it looks like Space CMF Seires could have its own series apart from regular regular ones. Regardless, I’m still happy with non-licened space series, ha.

I don't even want to try to guess what the "Space" CMF is going to be.

I would have never guessed that Lego would do a Space theme, that is actually a sub theme of City, but also of Friends, Dreamzzz, Duplo, Classic, and Technic, with the same color scheme but not really (Friends has trans purple windscreens, City has trans black, Dreamzzz is totally different, etc), and different logos for each (City is orange and black, Friends is orange and white, Technic is orange and blue), that is semi-realistic but also Sci-fi, with alien slimes.

Basically until we get leaks about what the CMF really is, there's no point in guessing.

I'm in too deep. For me it will only end in disappointment. 😭

But you can go for it! 👍

Some bug themed aliens would be cool to see, new scorpion tail hip piece perhaps?

Never been a fan of these space monsters. I would rather have animal costume people, or posters based on actual lore, or spacemen based on Lego space lore.

That is the same thing. If they do not make moulds, prints etc they save a lot of money so they can keep the price at the current level. With the new blind boxes they can probably not afford to increase the price without it affecting sales really negative :shrug_oh_well:

It’s little different, actually. If they want to do 16 minifigure series this time, the price would go up becuase of molds, printings, and quality.  $7 per minifigure is too much for CMF.If they cut CMF series down to 12 in order to keep price as low as $4/5.

But yes, it’s little same thing, they indeed to try save money for some cool ideas for 12 minifigures, such as a dog groomer’s hairpiece and that Afghan hound, vampire knight, goatherd, etc.

Respectfully, I kind of hate this opinion image.gif.13a6532964ac9b8248864f5501186dad.gif, I'm sick of animal costumed figures. I do think a space themed cmf should have some standard mono chromatic spacemen you can army build, preferably a Blacktron spaceman, but to say that no experimental concepts of alien monsters should be present is a bad take imo. Some people complain about a lack of innovation at this point in the CMF theme, but a Space theme gives room for creative experimentation because you can always design a new alien race. I welcome this space theme, I actually think it's been overdue. Designers can get creative with alien races and I welcome that but its fun to see other perspectives I guess lol

I think this is why the regular series (particularly when there were 16 figures) work so well - something for everyone. We could have a new alien species AND a costume fig, plus something for those into Sports, Castle, Music, Pirates, Mythology…

We all like a series of just our favourite themes (I’d personally choose Adventurers or an all Animal series).

Respectfully, I kinda of hate this opinion. I love animal costumes “hae”  is a strong and bold word, isn’t it?

Idon’t mind minifigure in silly alien costume for Space CMF Series. We just don’t know what kind of minifigures we would get in “mysterious” series. It coul make sense that we would see causal alien minifigures, throwback minifigures (such as M: Tron, Space Police, Classic Spaceman in new color, etc), even a kid in a rocket costue (not like the one from the old CMF Series, just more similiar to Plane, Ferry, Train costumes).

I accepted a long time ago that not every figure in every CMF wave is going to be to my personal taste. Would I be happy if they made waves consisting only of fantasy characters, historical and cultural costumes, and holiday-related concepts? Sure. But they ain't gonna! The plain City figures don't do much for me, and sports figures even less so. But I know others like them, and that I am not the sole target market for these, and I just...deal with it? It's really weird to me to see grown-a** AFOLs bellyaching that LEGO makes CMFs which they, personally, have no use for or interest in.

I agree regular series have broad appeal, but they’ve done 2 costumed themed series and 1 Monster themed Series. It’s about time Space got its own Series imo. Themed Series can be fun. I hope they give us some new Blacktron characters.

I second this.  I recently attended a Brickfest Live event where they were selling sealed CMF's from series going back as far as at least series 12.  There were quite a few of us taking the time to try to choose the ones we wanted. Happily for me the 12 I bought all turned out to actually be the ones I thought they'd be. I'm going to miss being able to feel through the blind bags.  For the upcoming series I've ordered 2 full sets but I know there are some I don't really want and some I definitely want more than 2 of but I'll have to settle just those.

A mining series would be cool too since it's something TLG has covered a fair amount

I understand that everyone has their tastes for certain miniigures in every CMF series. I love collecting every minifigure in every CMF Series since the LegoMovie Series was released that time.  I don’t mind animal costumes, I don’t mind historical characters, I don’t mind aliens, I don’t mind vehicle costumes, I don’t mind plain City citizens.  It’s just fun to populate my modular city with minifigures from CMF and create a crazy story. Pirates fans want pirates, Castle fans want knights, monarchs, and pleasers. Space fans wants spacemen and aliens. Fantasy fans want fantasy characters. Me? I’m in middle between these “cliques”.   I just love every minifigures from ever category.

With Johnny Thunder (Jungle Explorer) made appearance in Series 19, i was very thrilled to get him. Now we will have Basil the Batlord (Vampire Knight), this has me more thrilled. I would love to see more classic minifigures coming back -  in CMF or set. Oh and i love Police Officer (Series 18) and Classic Spaceman with adorable baby (Series 24).

I would love to see more characters from classic themes, such as Time Crusiers, Aquazone, Backtron I & II, Alpha Agents, the video game Lego Island, Rock Raiders, Pirates, Knights’ Kingdom I & II, etc, etc, etc….

I dislike themed series for this very reason. What are people who doesnt collect SciFi stuff going to do with the upcoming Space series?

Also, I expect a lot of rehases just like happened with Series 14: zombie (series1), witch (series2), crazy scientist (series4), werewolf (series4), etc

I get people having specific tastes in CMFs. I do myself. What I don't get are people acting like any CMF which doesn't meet those specific tastes is a "waste" and shouldn't have been made.

Not everything is about you, you know?
