jonwil Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 I would love to see Looney Tunes series 2 to give us the characters we didn't get last time. But given that the previous Looney Tunes series wasn't exactly a smash hit and given how many of the main missing characters are potentially controversial (Elmer Fudd with his hunting rifle, Yosemite Sam with his six shooters, Pepe Le Pew and his constant attempts to sexually harass a cat that doesn't want anything to do with him, maybe Foghorn Leghorn and his Southern stereotypes) I doubt we will ever see one. In terms of dream licensed CMFs, Cartoon Network would be up there with characters like the Kids Next Door or Dexter and Didi or the main characters from Regular Show. Or Nickelodeon with characters from the likes of Rugrats, Fairly Odd Parents or the like. Quote

Pop Star c o Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 There will be a new LEGO movie coming this October about Pharrell Williams. What if the September 2024 series is a tie-in for that movie? Quote

I mean, I don't think it can be ruled out entirely, but at the same time... What would those minifigs even be? Just Williams in 12 different outfits? That would ben even more niche than the DBF or 2012 Olympics series. I'll admit that I don't know much about the guy (and I subsequently don't care about the movie at all), but I just don't see how a 12-minifig series would work there. A one-off Icons set (or something like that) would probably make more sense. (And it very well could be that nothing comes from it - other Lego media exists without direct tie-in sets, like some of the Star Wars and Marvel shorts on Disney+) I still think it will be either Fortnite or Animal Crossing - but I probably won't worry about any more speculation until we hear something more concrete. That film will be very different from all other Lego Films they made and I hardly see any reason why they would do that. Not to mention that a series like that would hardly appeal any kids. 4 minutes ago, JohnTPT17 said: A one-off Icons set (or something like that) would probably make more sense. I don´t even think that this is very likely. What wouldn´t surprise me if they make a special edition of the DVD/Blu-Ray of the Film with his Minifig included. Quote

Maybe a polybag, with no exclusive parts that could also be a retail set? I've got no idea... Quote

I doubt that this movie will be a part of the "The LEGO Movie" franchise - IE, no tie-ins with Emmett, Will Arnett Batman, etc. I think it's just a film that happens to use Lego as a stylistic choice to tell the story. So, I doubt there will be many parallels with any of the Warner Bros Lego movies - including any kind of a minifig series. Heck, the poster even has printing under the arms of the minifigure - something that doesn't exist on any standard minifig. That's arguably more evidence that there might not be any real bricks made to release with the movie. Quote

jonwil Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 God no, definitely NOT that Teen Titans Go crap. Besides, my wish is a Cartoon Network CMF, not a DC CMF. Quote

They haven´t really done any movies since then either though - basically since their contract with Warner expired and they signed one with Universal, so I wouldn´t take that as any hint whether they would do that, or not. Also, we should keep in mind, this isn´t really a Lego movie. It is a Pharall Williams Movie, wherere Lego is a partner that works with them. So Lego is more likely just the stilistic device there, and whether they want to include a minifigure won´t be Lego´s choice (though it is a very likely thing to do if they are animating the Film with Lego Figures etc. - and I don´t see Lego objecting to that if they are asked to make such a minifigure really). In the end I would be rather surprised if there wouldn´t be a special edition with a minifigure really. Quote

brimbolet Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 I'd love to see some day characters from various Hanna-Barbera shows. Quote
Lion King Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Jetsons, Flirstones, Scooby Doo, and some classic cartoons prior to 90s Cartoon Network would be great. Quote
williejm Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 I LOVE Teen Titans Go! I have the already-released Lego figures & would be happy to see more. Also love the idea of some classic Hanna Barbera characters - though I would prefer these to have moulded heads like Muppets & Looney Tunes, as oppose to how the Flinstsones were realised in minifigure form. Yes please to Lego Yogi, Top Cat & Snagglepuss! Quote
