karrit Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 I too hope it's totally separate from the CMF's like those listed above and the Super Mario ones. I don't think these will sell well at all. They definitely should not be classified as CMF's. Quote

Apparently it’s half micro cars and half buildable helmets? This has gotta be something completely separate like the bandmates or unikitty at this point right? There’s no possible justification for including this in the Minifigures theme at this point. That is good news, no way they are part of the CMF line now, just like I hoped/guessed for something separate I can just ignore Quote

Also, it means that the original leaker was just mistaken when they said that this line would be a CMF series, so we should be getting two more CMF series in 2025! At least one of these will be licensed, so what are we thinking? Marvel S3 will probably not happen until 2026 (given project release dates), DC is unlikely until the DCU ramps up and proves itself, and Harry Potter would just be a bunch of rehashes (I think the first two series covered everything that would be in a CMF, from my understanding). Disney is always possible, Fortnite would be an excellent choice (and my personal hope!), or maybe Sonic or Animal Crossing to expand the population of those respective sets. A DnD S2 would be amazing, but unless LEGO is sitting on a dozen ready-made ‘figs that they chose not to include in the first series, I doubt that we will see a second series until 2026. Quote

Probably a combination of most license holders aren’t keen on agreeing to another series before they see that the first one sells and Lego themselves not wanting to fatigue customers to a particular theme. True. One difference in the case of DnD, however, is that it has far more material to work with than other licenses (other properties rely primarily on named characters, while DnD can just be twelve generic [Species] [Class] ‘figs without feeling repetitive). 2 minutes ago, Roebuck said: The last CMF F1 leaker is fake so back to the cars with heads was it Strange that that "joke" never gets old Could still be something else like Mario Hopefully just a Minifig head and helmet is not enough for LEGO to consider them “Minifigures”! 🫤 Quote

Are we really surprised Lego hasn’t wanted to repeat licenses in back to back years since then? After years of seeing feedback, they have to realize that repeating a license too soon will draw annoyance from fans who are interested in other subjects. Quote

As said before I wouldn´t put to much into the leakers saying it is a CMF series. Beeing the same concept of the CMF like Vidiyo Bandmates or the Mario Buildable Charakters were is already enough to be called that IMO. Personally I wouldn´t be surprised about another Harry Potter one but there are so many possibilities for new series we never had before. I mean who would have guessed we would get a D&D one? 3 hours ago, Classic_Spaceman said: I am not sure what the production timeline for CMFs is (sets are ~1.5 years), but IMO it is more likely that we will see DnD S2 in 2026 (or late 2025 at the earliest). Yeah, the next two series for sure are already planned now, not sure how far they are with the third one - probably it is also already to late for that one. 3 hours ago, Roebuck said: The last CMF F1 leaker is fake so back to the cars with heads was it Strange that that "joke" never gets old Could still be something else like Mario Buildable helmets wouldn´t make sense at all, so not surprised here. Could see them using just head and helmet for the series though. Quote

Series 2 also flopped pretty hard from what I remember, so that would just be reinforcement on why lego wouldn’t want to repeat the pattern Simpsons being the September series next year would make much more sense based on rumors of its return (which seem credible since it’s a Disney property now, and you know how Disney is). I’d be about as interested in that as the F1 series, but it would have much more broader appeal, so I could understand Lego going that direction. Quote
Lion King Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Is it me who thinking we won’t get Disney series in 2025? Quote
FinlayTheFaithful Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 I personally think 3 is enough for a while since a handful of themes could use a CMF more Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Honestly, the F1 Series really throws things off. I think most people here agree it's a wasted slot that no one wants, so that means that, at most, we only will have one more licensed series next year. And, as far as Disney specifically goes, they've always been a summer release, so I doubt it will take the third spot for next year. If we keep getting minifigure-based sets, I'll be pacified for the time being, but I'd love to get another one at some point. Quote

Robert8 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 But here is the thing If the F1 wave isnt the may CMF series, then what is it? If it is a licensed CMF we surely would know by now and yet we only know about this F1 rumor Quote

Agreed. I can’t see another Disney Series in 2025 since we had so-called Disney Series 3 “Disney 100” last year. I’m pretty sure Lego will continue doing minifig sets next yea. 2 minutes ago, Robert8 said: But here is the thing If the F1 wave isnt the may CMF series, then what is it? But also, it is still a long time till then, so I wouldn´t rule out that it is a licensed either. Eitherway I am sure the F1 will be a thing on its own like Vidiyo or the Mario Boxes. Quote
