Not series but some sets have had CMF numbers, like the Simpsons house (71006) which released between Simpsons CMF (71005) and Series 12 (71007)

So….. non-minfigure (?) F1 Series would be the first series to have CMF set numbers.  Not Super Mario, Vidiyo bandmates, Unkitty etc.

Mario and Vidio were part of their theme and got numbers according to it. With Unikitty it seems like they wanted to make a new CMF-Like think, hence it is labeled as Series 1 - which is IMO why it got unique numbers.

F1 on the other hand isn´t a Theme on its own, so it doesn´t have an own number range, but the range of the other themes it is a subtheme of. That beeing said it would make sense if it were in the range of the CMF numbers even if it isn´t an real CMF series.

Yeah, but in production timeline they may have been considering it.  I just hope they stick with the codes.

Maybe, but even if LEGO had the scannable codes ready to go, they were testing fully-blind boxes at the start and switched after seeing the resulting carnage!
They will definitely stick with the codes (or some other method of identification), since the 100% blind route resulted in some people destroying merchandise and others passing on the series’ entirely! Scannable codes are really the perfect solution, since those who want to know what they are getting can do so (without having to awkwardly fondle bags in the middle of the toy isle!), while people who want a surprise (or are unaware of the codes) can still have the blind-box experience.

Looney Tunes and Muppets don’t ahve thier own themes.  But they ae minifigures as counted fo CMF.

And no, it DOESN”T make sense for F1 sereis  IF it comes without minifigure for CMF…. I feel it’s a mistake Lego makes.  I guess all we do is to wait and see. *shrugging shoulders*.

Well they were CMF, so CMF was the theme anyways. In the text you quoted I was talking about non-CMF series.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I meant it makes sense for the F1 Series to have the same number Range as the CMF-Series because it is a similar thing. I don´t think that F1 will be a CMF and neither that it would make sense for it to be a CMF - at least not in the rumoured way.

No, i don’t miss underand you. I still think it’s stupid for F1 series to have CMF set numbers.  Therefore, it doens’t make sense.  It just wastes a slot for another appericate minifigure series.

However, if F1 seires do come with minifigures, then it does make sense for CMF.

...

Now that you mention it... we are yet to see any second installment for some of those licensed minifigs. Did they not sell well? Or was the license exhausted?

Well, but you still do. The series can have a set number in the range of the CMFs without taking a spot of the CMF. Whether that is the case we will have to see.

Nah, I still think it’s stupid. I would be interested to see how well they are sold if it’s branded as CMF. It would be a wasted slot.

I dont think there are enough well-known characters for a second series

Sure, the properties themselves have several other characters, but the main ones -the ones the license is recognized for- were already included in the first series

It'd have to be like the Simpsons S2: include a rehash of the main group

The newest rumors say that the F1 series includes each team so it means it either features 10 cars with one for each team or 20 cars with one for each racer.

Source?
My guess would be one per team (ten), with maybe two additional LEGO-branded teams (OcTan, Vita-Rush, etc) to bring the number up to the CMF-standard twelve.

For Looney Tunes, perhaps, although an argument could be made there, too, but I could definitely see the potential in a second series of The Muppets. The rest of the Electric Mayhem band - Dr. Teeth, Floyd, Zoot, and Lips - could take up four of the slots on their own. Put Miss Piggy in her Pigs in Space outfit and add her two co-stars, the "handsome" Pig and the Professor; give us Scooter, Sam the Eagle, the newscaster whose name I forget, Sweetums; another Kermit, maybe in a tuxedo, with his nephew, Robin as his accessory; Crazy Harry; The Janitor ... and that's just off the top of my head and not including any of the more "modern" Muppets like Pepe the Prawn, Clyde, the bear or Walter from the movies. Would it sell as well as the first, though? I'd doubt it, but I would still love to see it and I would collect every one of them.

Sounds like a nice line up, but I feel like that was just a one and done CMF. I feel like one based on a videogame might be in higher demand due to how much they've risen as themes in the past 5 or so years

They could repeat Piggy and Kermit and then feature the rest of the Muppets gang for a series 2.

Either that, or make a Muppets theatre with some missing figs like Scooter!

But.. I want Sam Yosemite, Foghorn, Hazel the Witch, Granny, alien bird, Elmer Fudd for Looney Tunes….. Can’t we have Bugs in his tuxedo? Or Viking Bugs and Elmer? And Space Jams characters (just like Lola…..). Maybewq1

The thing is Space is such a broad idea, a huge category and there are so many ideas you can do that fit that theme.

F1 on the other hand is just a very specific set of race cars.

I mean look at other recent CMFs, they had variety!

D&D- a vampire, A witch, a knight in shining armour that is also a dragon, a bird man, an undead necromancer, a Devil spawn and so on

Series 27 - Cupid, a long boarder, a wolf taming outlaw, a storybook monster, a pirate, a cat owner, a guy dressed as a hamster and so on.

Whereas F1 will be : a race car driver's head on a car, a race car driver's head on a car, a race car driver's head on a car , a race car driver's head on a car, a race car driver's head on a car, a race car driver's head on a car abd so on.

Whilst I could easily rack up a dozen characters for follow-up Looney Tunes or Muppets, I do think they are *unlikley* unless there’s a specific vehicle to tie them into, such as a movie or series. I actually think the most likely follow up would be a Sesame Street series

(Big bird, Elmo, Grover, Count, Bert, Ernie, Oscar, Abby, Rosita, Kermit in his reporter guise, Cookie Monster, Two Headed monster - would be a popular enough selection)

Apropos future series of Marvel, DC and Disney - k do wonder if they need to do something different. Two possible examples (whose time has effectively passed, for different reasons) would be a Marvel series of *just* X-Men, or a film-based Disney series, such as the wonderful 12 Encanto characterisations on Instagram by Danny.Breton https://www.instagram.com/p/Ce37Rbkr-m-/?igsh=YTc2eWM2bmE2M212 )

Ohh, niiice!

That Luisa Madrigal, from the instagram's what if, the upper body could, sort of, had fit Ben Grimm "Thing"

Regarding F1. 71049 CMF Formula 1 Series, I can't quite get rumoured part count vs price. For me, it doesn't... compute. Right now.

Or twelve cars, at least one of each team but two teams with two racers.
