Huh, I was presuming such a book would be an update of the first visual encyclopedia, acting next time as a handbook for Series 1 through Series 20. I hadn't even contemplated that it could instead be a complementary second volume. :shrug_confused:

Including the first ten series as well as 11-20 would either decrease the detail on all minifigures or increase the price. I can’t imagine them giving a full page to 320+ figures

Technically an updated encyclopedia would be featuring a little more than double the figures, so if each page of the first edition profiled a single CMF, the updated edition would spilt that single page between two CMF profiles, thereby keeping the book around the same size as the first edition.

Yeah this has to be Vol. II.

There is no way they would include all the minifigures from Series 1 to 10 again. It would be gigantic

Like I had said, it would remain around the same size if each page featured two CMF profiles rather than just one.

A robot face almost Identical to the series 1 one leaked, this could lend credence to the theory that we'll get an anniversary series

Weirdly enough, there's also a variant with the same print imposed onto a Dark Red head... :def_shrug:

I was just going to mention that. The prints are awfully similar. The print on two different colored heads is particularly interesting, but doesn't necessarily denote a CMF release. Perhaps a callback for use in another theme? We'll see, though. Maybe that eye patch head we saw IS a future CMF after all.

Im starting to think Series 20 is coming sooner than we think

If the DC rumor is true for January, then yeah, an April/May release for Series 20 would be apt, given that similar commemorative Series such as S10 and S18 were also released around that same slot.

Maybe they're just old test prints mistaken for 2020 leaks? :shrug_confused:

There is no way these are leaks for May 2020

If these are upcoming CMFs, then they are for January for sure

We are up to 3 leaked heads: pirate, robot and scifi character

DC is January so maybe these heads are for one of the new themes such as Zebra, IP2 or Leaf?

If so, perhaps the robot head at least is from a promotional? I highly doubt that the DC CMS rumor is false given its sources.

Sure, either the "Sci-Fi" and/or "Pirate" heads could possibly come from that enigmatic "Leaf" theme, though the Robot head is straight outta Series 1. Like I'd said, that could possibly be from a promotional set if anything.

Who? I still hope it is false :sceptic:

I really hope not! I have a few old figs on my wanted list, but would rather have completely new figs than to get them as a best of series or similar.. If I was desperate I can just buy the old figs with the inflated prices there are plenty on the marked.. This series 20 is getting me worried, because I know Lego will do something special with it and it is probably bad or worse from my perspective
If it is a female gold in a total of 5000 or one per box I do not mind since I only buy the figs with useful parts. If it is some kind of themed series like 18 or one fig from each former series that would be bad! Series 19 has set a record with new animal moulds and if it something to special with series 20, I have to wait to 21 before I can hope to get a similar series again :hmpf:

So from what I understand

January 2020 - DC Series (heavily rumored)

May 2020 - Series 20

September - ?????

Well, no trusted sources have even confirmed Series 20's existence just yet, let alone pinned-down any release date for such, as it's just merely a presumed given for next year. However, I do find it likely myself that it should arrive around that time of year if we're to believe the rumor of a DC-based CMS for January. As for September, well, what that could be is anyone's guess if 2020 does play out the way you put it.

It is raining the hole day here so decided to sort the CMF in different groups  Several figs can go different groups, but I ended up with these and probably a lot of you do not agree with every fig in every group, but I think it was interesting to categorize them so we know what we have , maybe it is easier to see what we will get in the future :shrug_oh_well:

Western; a very interesting theme to me that goes very well with the classic sets from the late -90. Hope to see more in the future, but they where more frequent in earlier series :sceptic:

  • 2.Mime
  • 5.Small Clown

Wow what a list. Thanks

Id say Video Game Guy, Video Game Champ and Ballerina are not sports. They are City

Highwayman is not a warrior, but a Historic character

Swashbuckler is a pirate, not part of an army or anything

Mythology should be its own subtheme I think.

Posted

Canonically speaking, S.14's Tiger Woman was turned into a tiger-human hybrid by means of an artifact. She is NOT a costumed character. That aside, I do much appreciate those lists!
