July 3, 201113 yr I'd love to see the return of some of those old space series. Maybe some of them could get together and/or even include the different species. I mean is there any reason why Blacktron could not have some aliens in their rank and file, or even why the space police could not? I mean it's not only humans who have criminals that need arresting I am sure? By the way is ADU supposed to be a seperate faction or part of the Space Police forces, or a kind of forerunner of the Space Police from just after first contact?

ADU is at best a predecessor from a couple of centuries before Space police.
September 10, 201113 yr I am currently working on military wing of ice planet 2002. I has always been one of my favorite themes. That, along with the exploriens (working on their military wing as well) just really look grand. It helps that the pieces I have the most of fit in with their color scheme too. I guess the IP 2002 faction got tired of waiting for the Space Police to show up. They had to take matters into their own hands.
September 10, 201113 yr I'm glad we'll all talking nostalgia here about Space themes. I MISS classic space even though I never got to see it in my time. I miss Exploriens, because although many say it was poorly designed, I love that theme. I miss Blacktron too, although I never got to see it, and I would love to see the new Space Police fight Blacktron III. But well, Lego hasn't delivered...
September 10, 201113 yr What did people think was so poorly designed about exploriens? The fact that some sets tended to fall apart easier than others? I, for one, loved the color scheme and the look. It had that great feel of classic space.
September 10, 201113 yr My first sets were Futuron, but those figs and pieces were pretty beat up by the time I really got into LEGO. That was when Blacktron II, M-Tron and Space Police were out. I had small and mid-size sets from all of them. My golden age, though, was made of Ice Planet, Spyrius and Aquazone (who I integrated with space, sort of like the dudes who explored a new planet's oceans). I still liked Exploriens and UFO, but then basically got out of LEGO for years after that. I have really grown to just appreciate all space themes. Blacktron and Classic Space are great, but I think Ice Planet, UFO, Blacktron, Roboforce and Alien Conquest are all just about equally awesome in different ways. Truth be told, the only ones I'm iffy on are the two Mars themes.
