Shakar Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Wait, you're right! Batman doesn't have the cape here. Kinda disappointing. However, in this pic Brickster took of the good guys from the Batcave, he didn't put their capes: Shakar Quote
Two-Faced Batman Fan Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Wait, you're right! Batman doesn't have the cape here. Kinda disappointing. However, in this pic Brickster took of the good guys from the Batcave, he didn't put their capes: Shakar Batman does have a cape in both sets it's just that some people don't like putting them on for some reason. Brickster didn't put on the stickers either on both of the sets but that doesn't mean they don't come in the set either Quote
ReZourceman Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Great review. I love those mini figures and the fact that you can put it on lock down!!!I dont think I will get it though, as I fear the price point will be FAR too much over here. I wouldnt go higher than Quote

Why didn't you put the capes to the figs, Brickster?Shakar Quote
ReZourceman Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Okay, so after building it I can say that it was fairly fun to build, but the Mini-figures are the best thing about this set! And they are awesome! The lock down is a nice touch too! However I must comment that looking at the set after you have built it, it really is not worth the price tag....possibly most over priced LEGO set, recently at least?! And also something I feel is VERY IMPORTANT and hasnt been mentioned (When I found this out I went crazy because I LOVE what this thing is....) Scarecrows head is GLOW IN THE DARK!!!!!! *sweet* *sweet* *sweet* *sweet* Quote
natelite Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Scarecrows head is GLOW IN THE DARK!!!!!! *sweet* *sweet* *sweet* *sweet* i guess that's why on the box his head has a tinge of green to it. 8- Quote
Shakar Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I noticed that only when I looked at Bricklink. At first, I tought it was light green. I think that's the fourth GITD head so far, the first being the evil skull , the second being Snape's face and the third being Voldemort's face. Shakar Quote
JoeMI6 Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Nice review there. Too bad it's convinced me not to get the set. The fact it's not more prison like has really put me off. It's like a little village too much. Not very foreboding at all. The figs are quite nice, but that's the only real plus side in my view. Quote
alex54 Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I've had it yesterday! And I noticed that the posts for the lighttower are different than in the instruction. in the instruction, they are like in the building crane (a triangular base with 3 roll and a triangulation structure). and here, they are different, there is only one roll and it is full under the tow other... WesternOutlaw Posted August 12, 2006 Author Posted August 12, 2006 The price point is a bit high, but it's still a very unique set. I would buy again. In regard to the cape(s) for the mini-figs. They always get in the way when sitting down your mini-figs, so I don't even take them out of the box. Also, I like to save them like stickers. Quote

You're referring to the pillar structure pieces right? It seems they have changed them, as you say. In both the Bat cave and Arkham, in the instructions it has the fully holes (just criss-cross poles) but in reality they now have a solid side on one side. Quote

I prefer the "old" version (oh, those AFOLs are always complainning! :-D ) Quote
Jipay Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I had the same issue with the batcave pillars Quote
Jemppu Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Same here :/ And I too prefer the old ones. Quote
Andrex Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I'm not a Batman fan to be honest but really that set ROCKS! It has so much and the detail is awesome. It makes you wish they'd make more Star Wars buildings! I'm living it and it has really tempted me, but for now I've got to save up :-D Lovely minifigs, great rooms and I like the vehicles and spotlight. Quote
Norrington Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I was always wondering, why are the gaurds of an asylum containing 3 top villians only armed with flint-lock muskets? That dosn't really make sense, maybe a sub-machine gun would be better... Quote

That dosn't really make sense, maybe a sub-machine gun would be better... I read somewhere in a description of the set that those muskets are supposed to represent tranquilizer guns. It is a mental institution so they're not going to be killing the patients if they try to escape :-P Quote

They'ed go the pimp "Where's my money?" style by shooting out their knees. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Well, I said I probably wouldn't get this earlier in the thread... but I just ordered one. *wub* I can't wait for it to arrive. Quote
Darth_Legois Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I saw 3 or 4 of these at my local TRU 3 days later they're all gone! 8- Quote
oo7 Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 *sad* Was that really necessary? I've never understood why people do this. And I've never recieved an answer. Quote

No, it probably wasn't necessary, but I don't think it was unnecessary either. If it was an older thread, then yeah, it add enough to the thread to make it worth bringing up an old thread, but since it's still somewhat recent, I don't see any harm in it. Quote
jngunsw Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) v v detailed review ^^ thx heaps...... the new robin looks so cool.... at first i thought he was a bad guy ^^"" 8/10 for me...... just a touch below the bat-crave.... Edited May 28, 2007 by Hobbes Quote
captaintau Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 And once again some thread necromancy from Captain Tau as he's so far behind is getting some sets. Just finished building it. Got lucky on an eBay auction - Quote
iamded Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Sorry to revive an old topic, but I was wondering if anyone knows how many parts bags this set came with. I'm thinking of buying this, but there is only one left and the box is all munched up, has been opened, ripped etc, so I want to know if any of the bags have been taken. Thanks. Quote
