To all Category A participants, I will send a warning flag PM for participants who fail to meet this rule. You will have time to amend it before the deadline is up or it will be likely be resulted in disqualification.

No webcam or handphone camera images can be used for the submitted entry. It must be taken in a clean and decent background with enough brightness to show the beauty of your entry.

For Category B rules, I have updated this rule below, to allow more images to be deeplinked.

One entry per person. An entry must include a picture (no larger than 800x600) showing the vignette together with the completed Eurobricks Collectable Minifigures Series 1. You may include up to 4 more images following the same rules. If you choose to take additional pictures, you may link to an outside gallery.

Lastly, if you have questions about Category B, please speak up and tell me about it. I got a feeling that many of you don't understand what I am expecting...

Another question about category b, can we have a combination of yellows and fleshies, or is that up to the judges?

I am not restricting this and this is entirely up to the participants. For the sake of consistency, I will encourage the participants not to use "combination". Either use all yellow or all fleshie. It doesn't really give a positive presentation if you are using both. Honestly, I think it will look awkward.

I was mostly asking because LEGO uses yellow, and I was planning on using all fleshies.

If the point of this rule is to guarantee high-quality pictures, why aren't you just judging the results? I mean, if someone has a >5Mpixel camera phone and he is able to take good enough pictures with it, why disqualifying him? Can you by the way always tell what device was used to take the picture?

The objective for this rule is to increase the entry barrier for participates who take sloppy photographs and wishes to enter, so to deter them from submitting poor images of their entry which resulted in cluttering of the overall index during the voting phase.

Yes, the judgement of results will take place and it is up to the voters to decide. To keep things neat and tidy and at the same time, doing some form of basic enforcement to ensure that the entries is up to a minimum viewable standard, it actually helps the participants to be alert.

If the participant is able to use a 5 megapixel mobile phone camera and pull it off nicely, then go ahead with it and make sure it doesn't comes out dark, blurred, messy, etc. Those are tell tale signs and for sure, I can't tell for sure what kind of device that they are using. I could only infer and flagged the most obvious.

Hope I have clarified your above points.

Yes, all that makes sense.

It's just that category B is already so difficult, that I wish it actually had a lower entry barrier  I wonder if we even get more entries than prizes in Cat B... at least there is plenty of time.

I've decided to enter Category B after all. I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to come up with 16 different designs until I started, especially since I don't want to create a similar version of one of the past CMs. But it's all very fun, to mix and match different minifigure parts.

Also, nice entry, The Spark That Bled. I like the funny troll doll minifigure, as well as the fortune teller.

Nice.

Please use the Building Contest Discussion Thread for commenting on entries - the Entry Thread is for submissions only. I've moved your post there.

Category B question:

With regard to the licensed minifigures, does this mean we cannot use torsos, heads, headgear, weapons and utensils from the licensed minifigs or does it mean we can't create something like a custom Star Wars or Indiana Jones figure.

For example, would making a soldier, like those pictured, as a custom minifig using parts from the Toy Story line be acceptable?

Or using a Star Wars head and blaster for your minifig, but not in a Star Wars context, like as a SWAT team member?

Just want a point of clarification here.

You can use all kind of minifigure parts from the LEGO licensed themes. But you cannot create a custom Star Wars or Indiana Jones minifigures for example.

These are allowed.

I just have one question for Category B. Rule #9 says this:

No Series 4 minifigures are allowed. You may not use the official minifigure or it's new accessories/parts from Series 4 in your official entry pictures. You may use accessories that already existed, but not new ones from Series 4 like the electric guitar, rapier, for example. Please note Series 1, 2 and 3 minifigures and parts are allow in this category.

Does this mean that new prints from S4 are forbidden, too?

Yes, it is the same old rules like all previous Collectable Minifigures Series contest.

For category B, can we have extra minifigs to populate our vignette? And does the no-S4-figs rule apply only on the custom minifigs or on the vignette and extra figs too? Can we use the werewolf's bone? That piece has been available a little bit before S4.

By the way, I just realized the cleverness of the title pic and its caption! :oh:Fourget - very clever. Who made that pic?

I never state or at least indicate in the rules. However, you are strongly encouraged not to. Given the scale of 16x16 to place 16 of them in there is very tight and the focus and part of the evaluation is to judge your unique 16. In order not to de-rail into other non-related minifigures in there, it will just serve more confusion as you will need to differeniate in them via your entry descriptions.

And does the no-S4-figs rule apply only on the custom minifigs or on the vignette and extra figs too?

This is a traditional rule which exist in all past and current categories. No usage of new parts from the Series 4.

Available? Can you please show the link to me.

By the way, I just realized the cleverness of the title pic and its caption! :oh:Fourget - very clever. Who made that pic?

Make a guess! Unless the designer of this poster is willing to step up, but I am sure it is not an easy guess.

OK, just making sure.

Here's the bricklink link. It's in the Ninjago fortress and the new police station, both of which have been available since January.

Uhm, Hinckley? :look:

Then, in this case, it is allowed.

Uhm, Hinckley? :look:

Nope, I told you it was not the most obvious staff.

I have a couple of questions. 1) if i'd upload an image to facebook then transfer it to photobucket, will I still be able to enter the contest with said image? and 2) Can I enter a photo taken w/ a nintendo DSi XL system(that's why I need to use FB)? I can take great images with my nintendo system as long as I take my time and am careful w/ the lighting. I have more then one image that's on par w/ a digital camera I usually use.

If it wouldn't be for the fact that the SD port on the laptop doesn't work anymore(not sure why) and the desktop went belly up on us, i would enter a digtal cam photo.

As long the image is hosted inside Photobucket and able to deeplink in here, it is fine.

A digital camera quality photo is very much appreciated. I am not recommending any sub-standard image capturing device and it is not encouraged to do so.

May I remind entrants to Category A that a maximum of three pictures, maximum size 800x600, are allowed:

11. One entry per person. An entry must include a picture (no larger than 800x600) showing the vignette without the minifigure you built it for. Include the name (type) of that minifigure and the theme that you have done. Other minifigures may appear in the pictures. You may include up to 2 more images following the same rules. If you choose to take additional pictures, you may link to an outside gallery.

Any further pictures will be removed. Links to galleries are fine.

Nice entries so far, everyone. Lisqr, your Category B entry is great! I especially like the Cultist and the Tycoon. However, I do think that an Amazon Warrior would be cooler than an Amazon Worrier.

I'm almost done with my Category B minifigures. I just need to design one more minifig and then the vignette. Some of my minifigs are similar to those of the B entries already posted, but great minds think alike, I suppose. I did design them previous to seeing the similar ones posted, at least.

I'm looking forward to more entries!

Thanks for the catch. Spelling check deceived me.
