Cwetqo Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I would put Pet shop next to CC (because of similar line of roof) and apartment building between GG and FB (because of its blocky shape). Quote
Soulgem Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) It makes me sad to see these pictures and know that I won't be getting the CC anytime soon I'm in the same boat. Got the others, but the beautiful CC is out of reach. Far too expensive for me. While that is said, the lack of interior and details on the back side makes it less impressive in my eyes and I'm not really that sad. So let us hope for a corner building next year. edit: also thanks for the quick pictures, Grogall! Anyone doing a review soon? Edited May 12, 2011 by Soulgem Quote

I have to look at it from the bright side, (hopefully) there are many more modulars to come! Quote

Or do what many here on EB do MOC additional modulars, you could have a row of town houses....but then you would need to change the pets shop into other kinds of shop that can use that SNOT built sign ! Yes, I will try to do that in the near future! Only, the hardest part is.. to get started! Quote

HighFlyer Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Bonaparte: Removed needless big quote! Thanks Grogall, they all look stunning together! Don't mind the height difference, however those lamps are horribly balanced out Quote
Vindicare Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Thanks Grogall, they all look stunning together! Don't mind the height difference, however those lamps are horribly balanced out You'd almost have to put the pet shop and townhouse together in order to space out the lamps properly. Quote
Aanchir Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 You'd almost have to put the pet shop and townhouse together in order to space out the lamps properly. Because of the way the sidewalks are built, actually, it would be unbelievably easy to just swap the lamps around with 2x2 tiles in order to space them out properly. If you don't mind modding your sets, that is. Quote
Rick Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 You'd almost have to put the pet shop and townhouse together in order to space out the lamps properly. It's not like moving the lampposts is the most intrusive modification you can make to these sets. And if you want to get really nit-picky: the (single) lamp posts on the Cafe Corner and Grand Emporium aren't placed in the same spot as on the 'straight' modulars either. Quote
Gregorovich Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Here is are pics of all the Modular Buildings together! I thinks this set up works the best. for me! the only sad thing is now we have to wait a whole year for the next one! :pir-cry_sad: :pir-cry_sad: *snip* *snip* enjoy! Thanks, Grogall! The street looks so beautiful. The height differences make it look more realistic I think, seeing as real buildings aren't all the same heights. I really wish I had all of them, but they're just too expensive for me ! And is anyone up to doing a review of the Pet Shop? I'd be really grateful, thanks! Edited May 12, 2011 by Gregorovich Quote
Jasper Joppe Geers Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Not sure about the Lamp posts on Grogall's occasion, but i think he has given them already another spot on the pavement here and there different from the instructions.. But yes Rick, these are not exactly the challenge so to speak. I think i'll wait with Pet Shop for a while though. I'm one of those with some mocs of my own and i'm happy with this new set, but not it's height. To me it really stands out, no matter the building you put it aside. If i'm going to buy it, it will be just for the parts. Quote
merman Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 If I counted correctly this set has 380 different pieces which is a record for the Modular Building series... just uploaded the minifigs on Bricklink. Waiting for approval. Doing an inventory soon... Quote

Jasper Joppe Geers Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Well, it seems to me that the Pet Shop has either two lamp posts, or the Green Grocer has one on the baseplate's edge?.. Have to look closer i think?... Edit: I see it now. -darn- Ok, punish me!! Edited May 12, 2011 by Jasper Joppe Geers Quote
Canada_7 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 If you are wondering, the new Lego store at Sherway Gardens in Toronto has this set in stock. Quote

lightningtiger Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Okay, so maybe we should all try and make a 4 letter business name in SNOT to replace PETS if you buy more than one of these sets. I might even give it go. Quote
greg_b Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I've only got enough to buy one of the modulars (I've currently got GG) Do you think I should buy the Emporium or Fire Brigade first? Fire Brigade is the older set but some of you seem to think the Emporium will be discontinued first... Quote

David Thomsen Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) Looking at the buildings like that, it seems that apart from different architectural styles, there are also different scales. The FB and the GG are the largest scale, with a few large windows on the front and a lot of spacing between them. The GE and the PS are the smallest scale, with many small windows and little space between them. The CC is a mixture, with large well-spaced windows on top and many small windows in the middle. It seems kind of like the buildings have been enlarged or shrunk down to fit on a 32x32 plate. I was going to organise them by architectural style, but on second thought I'll arrange them from largest scale to smallest scale. PS, GE, CC, FB, GG. Something like that. Mrcool1804 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Pet shop sign mural contest? Here we go! Whats not to like about this post? I'd love to see what people come up with! Quote
AwesomeTaylor Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Whats not to like about this post? I'd love to see what people come up with! I have one I'm making for a current MOC, but I think it might be a little too wide for the petshop space. plus I'm using the system from the FB to make mine :) Quote
lelee Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Mine has arrived! That is super fast for standard delivery, i wasnt expecting it until next week at the earliest! Well done Lego! ok, bottle of Rose on the go and let the building commence! Quote
