Fallenangel Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Is there something I'm missing here? XimenaPaulina Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Is there something I'm missing here? When I deeplink a picture from flickr, I click on the image, then click on the 'View all sizes' button in the upper right-hand corner, then copy the image location from the appropriate image size and put it into the <img src=""> tags. Using that process, I get this: [img=http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1392/5179264406_b7f3f126e0_z.jpg] Which displays as: *snip* Though that doesn't seem to be how the rest of you are doing it... That is another way to deeplink images from flickr, and is my preferred method too rather than the 'Grab HTML/BBCode'.
Rick Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 That is another way to deeplink images from flickr, and is my preferred method too rather than the 'Grab HTML/BBCode'. If I correctly remember, flickr requires you to link back to their site everytime you deeplink a picture hosted there, which is achieved by flickr's BBcode.
Big Cam Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 If I correctly remember, flickr requires you to link back to their site everytime you deeplink a picture hosted there, which is achieved by flickr's BBcode. And by required, what they really mean is suggest. I agree with KDman, I've been using flickr long before this new bb code, so I'm used to going into all sizes and grabbing the respective link.
Zorbas Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I've merged this topic with the one that Rick posted. This was too in the first page of the forum, searching is useful sometimes.

Don't you get the same thing if you 'Grab BBCode' and then remove the links? I used to use 'View all Sizes', but 'Grab BBCode' is much faster.

You are correct, it's the same, but I am just so used to doing it the old way, I still do, plus it's nice to be able to select the size you want, not the default one.
Brickdoctor Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 it's nice to be able to select the size you want, not the default one. But if you use the 'Grab BBCode' method, you can use the drop-down list to select the size.

The Joker1 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Hi I am having some trouble uploading images from flickr to Eurobricks.I cant seem to find a tutorial on how to do so either. When i copy the link at the top of the screen and paste it into the Insert image bar it just says it is not valid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The browser address when you look at a picture on flickr isn't what you use. When you're looking at the picture there's a bar above it and one of the buttons says "share". Click that and choose the HTML/BB code option. They even give you several options for size. Just copy/paste the code in the box, making sure you have a size chosen that's 800x600 or smaller and the the BB code bubble is chosen as well.
Ralph_S Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) Hi I am having some trouble uploading images from flickr to Eurobricks.I cant seem to find a tutorial on how to do so either. When i copy the link at the top of the screen and paste it into the Insert image bar it just says it is not valid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. No idea where the tutorial is, but the way to do it is to click 'share' above the picture, then go to 'grab the html/bbcode' , set the tick box to BBCode (if it's not already set) and copy and paste the code from the window on flickr to the editing window here on EB. You don't need to use the 'insert image bar' here. That only works if the link has a valid extension (i.e. .jpg). You can get that link from flickr as well, but the way I described is the proper way to do it, in that clicking the picture will bring you to the flickr page where the picture is housed. Cheers, Ralph edit: didn't realise that the question had already been answered when I submitted my post, but since I went to the trouble of typing the damn thing and can't delete a post, I'll leave it as is. Big Cam Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 A quick scroll through this forum found this thread on Page 3. Flickr posting on Eurobricks, or something like that. There are a few descriptions of what to do.
Ralph_S Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Thanks I will give that a shot. Here is a practice with a random picture. No. You need to copy and paste the BBCode. Not the html. Cheers, Ralph
Big Cam Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I would suggest reading the tutorial I posted. You don't need all that fancy formatting, just the proper url.
glenpinpat Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I have tried to upload some pictures with my posts but I keep getting"you are not allowed to use this image extension on this board". I am trying to get my pictures from flickr to be on my post. I am using windows 7. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to post my challenge 3 build.
Brickdoctor Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 You've got the wrong URL. Have you tried following the instructions here?
glenpinpat Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Thank-you!! Now one more question, When you go to post preview, do the images show or do they only show once you have posted?
Brickdoctor Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Thank-you!! Now one more question, When you go to post preview, do the images show or do they only show once you have posted? All images show up when you preview the post.
Im a brickmaster. Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Not sure if this is the wrong spot, but went to route some pics from Flicker to minifig customisation workshop and it said that I was not '' Allowed to use that image extension on this board''.

You've probably got the wrong URL. Have you followed the instructions for embedding flickr photos on EB?
TrumpetKing Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Hello! For my third review in the RA, I have decided to start using flickr due to its resizing option during uploading in order to save time. However, I began to upload them, and I did not see a re-size 640x480 option. Is this for paid users only, or how do I find this. I am only given a default or small size option. Thanks, TrumpetKing67 Edited June 27, 2012 by TrumpetKing67
Fugazi Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Once your photo is uploaded, if you right-click on it you should be given a number of size options, including a 'Medium 640' which is what you need.
