No, the performance by most of you was quite impressive, but I don't think how much of a noob you look like really matters. Everyone has got to learn sometime, even if someone is completely missing the concept of mafia at the beginning.

I'm sure everyone who makes an attempt to learn the ways of mafia will turn out to be a good player eventually. Like Hinckley's said numerous times, there are several good sources for learning out there, including the new "lesson" concept that is being incorporated into this Mafia School game.

By the way, I'm referring to all mafia players in general, and no one specifically. The players/students of this game aren't the only ones learning.

Agreed. I'm not saying anyone is a good or bad player or that it matters as far as in-game action is concerned what the spectators think of your playing (that is, unless you get it stuck in your head that everyone thinks your a MegaBlokish player), I was just wondering what other players really thought of our performance in Isla Paradisa now that I'm watching a Mafia School game and not playing it.

I see similarities between the two, although in the first game, the players in my opinion played better in general. However, since we are still on day one, I'd wait to give a full opinion until at least day 5-6 or when the game is over.

But what do you need to be visual? There's the mafia handbook we've linked you to 100 times which explains the roles...with pictures. I've told you already there aren't any clues in the game's pictures, so being visual isn't going to help you. You need to read what is being said. If you can't do that, you're going to fail. If you're still looking for pictures, you have a profound misunderstanding of how to play a mafia game.

I'm not looking for more pictures, I was just using my fantasy the wrong way lately. It was more in overdrive and made up things myself, but that's history now.

Glad to hear it. That's a step in the right direction. Keep it up. Don't forget to have some fun too, though.

Having played in forum RPGs on another board I am used to being allowed slightly more free reign with stuff, but I do understand that that isn't the point of the Mafia School.

Our idea to find the camera to see if there was any clues contained in it, for example. That was a good idea for an RPG but not suitable for a Mafia game. It's finding out those little distinctions, we are all learning as we go along.

I think that's what causes part of the confusion. When casually browsing an EB mafia game it may look like an RPG, but the role-playing part of the game is largely for fun and has little to do with the actual mafia game being played. And based on past experience, it usually doesn't end well for people over-doing the role-playing part of the game. And don't confuse role-playing with role-claiming, i.e. claiming to have a certain role in the game that you may or may not actually have (which is mostly done by players close to being lynched). This can be part of playing a mafia game. Although, as Hinckley pointed out, there has not yet been a player with a role that gets them tied up in the back of a bar.

If you do not want to use your night action you should still send me a PM (using your role PM, of course) stating that you do not wish to use it. If anybody is forgetting about theirs, then that will reflect in your grades...

When is it, any way it's fun seeing furry things killing each other

The next mafia school game will probably be open for sign-ups in June, maybe July. Keep checking back. Follow along with this game. It'll make it easier for you when you play. It's not always furries, though.

Shadows is back!

Shadows is so lucky, he get's a new character every time he dies!

I'll take a guess here and say that he played the FBI agent who died a "natural death".
