Posted July 16, 200618 yr What are the chances of lego doing indiana jones sets for the new movie? It is being made by lucas film and they're business with lego has been prety lucrative. Could we be expecting sets in 2008?
July 16, 200618 yr Would be awesome if they jumped on this license. But Orient Expedition was not a good theme for Lego. At least that's what I heard from a Lego rep. several months ago. Orient Expedition Discussion
July 16, 200618 yr I really hope NOT !! TLC doesn't need to spend big bucks on a licence for a generic theme they did in the past !! JT was so close looking to Indy ;-) Ah I understand why you want that licence, for a new Padme MF :-D (yes she plays Indy's daughter for those who didn't know ;-) ) *yoda*
July 16, 200618 yr Governor What are the chances of lego doing indiana jones sets for the new movie? It is being made by lucas film and they're business with lego has been prety lucrative. Could we be expecting sets in 2008? Can we be expecting the movie in 2008? Well, it'd be nice. Its LucasFilm and probably, they WILL make it. And they've been saying they WILL make it since 1994...
July 16, 200618 yr Am i the only one who thinks the Indy 4 movie would be a great Opportunity for a new Adventurers line. The indy 4 movie is great advertising for the adventurers kids would intsantly be interersted in the whole exploring concept and best of all....... no need for a licence!
July 16, 200618 yr Exactly shineyfish !! Thats what I was saying several times regarding Pirates !! The same principle applies here !! Play the momentum without disboursing money in licences !! This woukd lead to a cheapest generic theme fitting the general publicity of a great and much anticipated licence ;-) Imagine the huge amount of money TLC could have done releasing a pirate line now with the unprecedented success of POTC2 !! Its insane *wacko* Oh well, I guess TLC will never learn |-/ *yoda*
July 16, 200618 yr I also agree with shineyfish, if MegaBlox doesn't get this license, the Adventurers sets would sell amazingly!
July 16, 200618 yr I edited the title to add a "?" because the title was actually misleading ;-) *yoda*
July 16, 200618 yr If the movie does get produced, my prediction is that Lego will NOT make another adventure theme. I would love to see them do so, I just don't think they will based on populatrity of the Orient Expedition theme.
July 16, 200618 yr Author Oreint expidition was nuthen like indiana jones, the first and second thunder themes were prety spot on but i doubt regular ppl would still rmbr them. First off the orient card game was prety wacky, and those duplo monsters were dumb. The only good parts were the emperors fort and his boat. also if lego duz pik up this lisence would they make little nazi minifigs for indiana to kill? Also if the line takes off could we expect sets from the other movies? That nazi flying wing with mechanic minifig slice n dice action would be slick *skull*. And a sean connery minifig with that speaks would be awsome :-D . And that tank from the last crusade would be sweet.

Try to use correct spelling and whatnot in the future, okay? Anyway, I doubt they'll pick up the license, and it IS a LOT like Adventurers (I'm still not sure if you were being sarcastic or not...it almost sounds like someone took over your computer). You KNOW Lego would never make Nazis anyway, but there is still so much left to explore in this genre it isn't funny. It's such a shame what happened to it.
July 17, 200618 yr Author It was more of an after thought when i realized that they were the antagonists in 2 of the movies. Eye hav noe excoos 4 da spelen missteaks *wacko*
July 17, 200618 yr It was more of an after thought when i realized that they were the antagonists in 2 of the movies. See you can write proper English :-| So stop writing like in your previous post !! Eye hav noe excoos 4 da spelen missteaks *wacko* Very funny *sad* Seriously do not ever write like that anymore !! I cannot believe how common sense is so absent these days among our members :-| *yoda*
July 17, 200618 yr If LEGO does make an Indy series it would probably be just three or four sets similar to the Avatar or Spongebob sets. Something smaller that would sell well and if it turned out to be a dud the they would at least break even because of the name.
July 17, 200618 yr What are the chances of lego doing indiana jones sets for the new movie? I'd say, slim to none. But Orient Expedition was not a good theme for Lego. At least that's what I heard from a Lego rep. several months ago. That's too bad. Orient Expedition (and vikings) has been the highlight of the themes in recent memory, well designed sets with lots of bricks and interesting pieces and figures. I think an Indy line would be really cool. I am a huge Indiana Jones fan. I even own a fedora X-D Steve
July 17, 200618 yr Lets face it, an Indy licence could be good only if we have nazi MFs, and that will never happen !! So its really safe to assume that they will NOT take that licence ;-) *yoda*
July 18, 200618 yr Author Who says this one will hav nazis in it? They just started filming it, and as i recal the temple of doom was nazi free. It ws just this dumb kid using voodoo dolls to enslave children or something like that

July 18, 200618 yr The new movie (which has not yet begun production) is said to be set in the 1950s with Russians as the main enemy. Makes sense given the age of Ford / Jones. And there is no confirmation Natalie Portman will be in the movie. People are talking about years-old rumours as if they are fact. Stay up to date with the actual news here at theraider.net I can absolutely see LEGO resurrecting the Adventurers line but with an Indiana Jones branding and fleshie figs. You could make a vast number of Indy Jones locations and vehicles from the existing Adventurers brick palate. Were there not a couple of Jurassic Park III branded 'LEGO studio' sets? So there's already a relationship with Spielberg (already a Spielberg minifig) so an IJ line could in fact be made as a LEGO Studios subtheme. I would envisage a number of sets from IJ4, plus a few 'classic' scenes from the first 3 movies. I have actually made quite a few IJ minifigs. You can see the rest here (many have subsequently been refined and reworked after a couple of brickshelf orders, I really must update that thread with the updated images!).
July 19, 200618 yr If Portman is gonna be in the film, there are several things they can spin on. For an example. ford/Jones can say to Portman: -"You are really behaving like a mother-in-law". Well things like that... it would be really really funny. TLC could reintroduce their studio-line... but I seriously doubt it.

Well things like that... it would be really really funny. 95% of the audience wouldn't get it. That would only mean anything to Star Wars EU fans.

July 20, 200618 yr Nah, I think it's pretty explicit that Han and Leia get together ;-) Explicit? Did you read the non-authorised version? :-P
