LEGO is a hobby. so it is very personal thing to spend how much time to it.

Just curious. normally how much time do you spend on LEGO every week?

It could be building (either a set or a MOC)

sorting (sorting pieces from built sets or loose piles)

Watching (surfing eurobricks. ftbt. mocpages. lego.com etc)

acquiring (refreshing S@H, craiglist, ebay etc, bricklink.)

selling ..

for me, I spend about 1 hours everyday.. but I really wish I could spend more!

I buy about every two weeks at the moment, as new sets slowly make they're way to TRU shelves. I spend a few hours on here. Check eBay about once a week. I don't sort my Lego, they go in bags as the set after I build and admire it for a day or so.

Probably two to three hours a day with physical LEGO. If you count LEGO websites, that probably goes up to around seven to ten hours a day, spread out over about fourteen hours.

There is a topic somewhere about how much time you spend on EB, can't find it, though...

Well, for me it's about 1-3 hours building each day, about 15-20 minutes on Shop@home, anywhere from 2-4 hours on Eurobricks each day, and about 2 hours sorting bricks.

Per Week:

Building: About 1 hour per day and 3 hours per weekend for of average of about 8-12 hours per week.

Sorting/Shredding: 5 hours for about every 100 hours (Based on stats taken after a Mega MOC)

Watching/Surfing: I'm an ADMIN on a small forum. So usually about 2-4 hour per day (5 days per week) depending on appointments for an average of about 15 hours per week.

Acquiring: Ah including driving time? 30-60 minutes per week.

Grand Total: 21 hours-ish per week 21/168 or about 12.5% of my life (+/-10% varying from week to week).

I try to get a solid 3-4 hours a day in some form or another. If I have new sets, I build them. If my newest sets are built, I dismantle and sort them. If everything is sorted, I work on MOCs. I pepper my online time sporadically through the day and try to limit it because it interferes with building. 10PM to Midnight is my prime time because my Wife and kids have gone to bed so I don't feel as guilty about the me time.

Mine depends a lot on my work and how busy that and other parts of my life are. I normally spend a few hours over week nights and then a few hours more on the weekend, maybe 15 hours a week all up but if I am building something big like 8070 or 8069 I can spend a lot more :)

Well building, depending on how big the model is, taking up to weeks to finish. Sorting, well my lego's are already sorted, Surfing Eurobricks, MOCpages etc, about 5-7 hours a day, and acquiring, well, I usually explore S@H, eBay, and craiglist for about 30min finding for new deals or sets.

Gee, I guess building/on the net about Lego anywhere from 3 to 10 hours per day everyday, like today might be about 5 or 6 or could be more !

Now spending money wise, to tell you the truth I spend little these days as I when went buy crazy two and half years ago and have spare parts every where hence the wife has put a contract out on me !

Though when new city sets come out I buy and hide them !

Then come clean after a year or so !

Brick On everyone !

I third that. I have enough new sets to start a small market  I spend about 6 hours or less building a week. Probably 2 in removing sets from my Lego room or sets from eBay and putting them in storage in the attic. 1-5 hours combined between eBay, EB, BL, BS daily. YouTube (Lego related) 0-2 hrs weekly. Probably would spend more time if I didn't have a social life

I don't spend much time on Lego yet, but I just came out of my Dark Ages!

Building: Only when I buy a new set, but I plan on moc'ing in the near future.

Sorting/Shredding: None, I have to get more Lego first.

Watching/Surfing: About 3 hours a day (Eurobricks and Lego.com).

Acquiring: I order at S@H, so it takes only minutes. Sometimes I go have a look at normal stores.

I usually spend 1-2 hours a day building, and about 30 minutes daily sorting. I get a new set on average twice per week (but often just a small thing). I also spend a few hours per month on LDD. And I don't sell LEGO.

if you ask people around me, the answer would be very short... TOO MUCH !!! even if I think it's never enough.

actually it's about 1 hour in the morning before going to work spent on the net, plus let's say 1 to 4 hours during the free time in the afternoon that can be spent with LDD or net, plus 1 to 2 hours in the evening/night when I come back home from work, but this is if talking about a lucky day! sometimes it's only 1 hour a day.

about building can be about 4/6 hours, but not often, especially now that all my lego are packed and ready to move.

have a nice lego day

Sadly for me, nowhere near enough time spent on LEGO. Unfortunately I live in a nice downstairs portion of a 2-story house, but my room, while spacious enough, cannot handle anywhere near the amount of LEGO I now own. So basically while I've gotten my sorting methods setup, I don't even have room to put in a construction table. I have my storage items spread around the room because I can't put them all together in one spot and a huge stack of unopened LEGO boxes from my birthday shopping that I can't touch because, well, again - no room! It bums me out :( I'm dying to sort and start MOCing/assembling and just can't atm.

When I do get to a position that I can? I'll probably easily spend several hours per day sorting/building for sure :D

Not enough.

Seriously, between work, family, and other issues I get to spend almost no time right now.

Some of you seem to spend a lot of time on this, how do you manage to find the time? By the time I have been to work for around 10 hours and sleep for 8 more, that only leaves 6 to do everything else including eat, wash, interact with my family etc, so whilst I'd like to spend more time on LEGO it is probably about 20mins a day on the forum and about 2 hours a week at weekends building and sorting etc. If I happen to be out shopping and see something I'll buy it but that is it. There are unfortunately not enough hours in the day.

I hear ya.

that's the life. if you are really into something, you would have to sacrifice..

I haven't bought sets for a long while, but I'll generally mess around with what I have once a month. Reason for my spotty usage of what I have comes from a bunch of other hobbies I'm currently busy with, like writing, although I have a feeling that over this summer I'll likely spend some more time with it. But, really, it just varies from month to month, year to year even -- this year just hasn't been one of those "I feel like building something" years so far.
