LEGO Shop Girl Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 So about two weeks ago my store received most of the new Spring line of LEGO sets, and as cool as PoTC is, as great as the new Harbor/Marina City sets are, as cool looking as the new Alien Conquest line is; the thing I was the Most excited about when we opened the boxes; were the little LEGO buckets show in the Kingdom's set Mill Village Raid. Just wondering if I'm the only spaz out there, or if others thought this was cool too. So far it seems to be a nifty selling point if nothing else. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I love buckets! The Blacksmith set has them too! I am also very very excited for the chickenz. I love animals in LEGO form since I was small and had some Duplo farm and zoo. I think the bucket and chicken mean I will be getting more than one Blacksmith (besides the weapons, my other favourite LEGO things) the Mill is also high on my list of sets to buy. Goats! Honest to goodness LEGO Goats! (eyes tag speculatively). Every year the sets get better and more interesting! Quote
Jargo Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I didn't realise how tiny they are until I got a couple. They're great though. Cool addition to the range of accessories. Hope they turn up in city sets. Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Me thinks you have a bucket fetish, Sieggy Quote
Vindicare Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I, too am pretty happy to see the little(and I mean little) buckets. Definitely good addition to the LEGO community. Quote
LEGO Shop Girl Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Hope they turn up eventually in Pick A Brick. Given their size I'm kind of expecting to see them as part of the Build-A-Mini accessories Quote
tedbeard Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Yep, this is probably the new element(s) I am most excited about this year. I have been wanting a proper minifig-scale bucket for years. Using this: has been unsatisfactory. Quote
mikey Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Buckets are a definite highlight of the year, I am really looking forward to acquiring a few. Another part I am looking forward to is the 1x4x3 reddish brown window frame in the Creator Lighthouse. It is the nature of our hobby that we all get excited about small, and ultimately insignificant pieces of plastic. I don't want to be a 'mini-mod' here, but a term like 'spaz' is in my opinion not really acceptable anymore. Quote
Legoist Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Well for me nothing beats the return of the pitchfork but these new buckets are interesting pieces that may later end up released in lots of colours and used in the least expected ways in other sets (remember the monocular piece? or the skeleton legs?). But also the new animals are nice, I was totally caught by surprise to see goats. Now if only TLG released an accessory set with cows/bulls, pigs, goats and chicken, that would sell out easily Quote
Zeya Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 The buckets are cool. There are some in the POTC sets that I got. For each bucket, they give you another handle as a spare, which is nice. I noticed that the handle comes off quite easily, so it's probably pretty easy to lose them. Another thing is that the buckets are really small, for better or worse. Hmm, I wonder if you can fit a flower stem piece in the bucket and use it as a flower pot? Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I'm going to get one for the well of my castle village. It's great news for me since I was thinking of ordering the old large bucket for that purpose off of bricklink but couldn't find a cheap enough one in a suitable color. From the pictures it looks like they're at a much better scale for minifigs, too. It's amazing that they designed it to look so good with a minifig holding it considering the range of arm motion. Erynlasgalen Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I was caught off guard a little when I saw how small the buckets were at first, but I absolutely love them. Like Zeya I noticed the handles do come off very easily, so I am wondering how long it will be before I lose the original handle and the spare one. I am going to pick up a few extra copies of the new Blacksmith, just for the bucket, weapons and chicken. Even better than the buckets though are the new goats. I am not a fan of them in real life, but the Lego one is as adorable as a small piece of plastic can get. I hope they put them in another smaller set in the future, so I can amass a whole herd of them. Quote
