Hello, everyone. For the past couple of days now, my profile EB account has been acting strange. My name drop-down menu thing where I can access my profile and such is always down, and won't go up, and the emoticons are not on the side of the text box when I'm posting, but rather on the bottom with only a few of them there. Does anyone know what the heck is going on?

Anyway, I am not having this problem, it's doesn't sound like something that would be caused by the forum but rather your browser. I would first try clearing your cache and trying again.

I'm on a Mac, so I have Safari. I'll try cleaning my cache and see if that helps.

EDIT: I just cleaned my history. That did nothing.

Your history is different from your cache. The history is just a list of links to past pages, while the cache contains actual portions of that page.

And EB looks fine for me on Safari for Mac. (latest version of OS X and Safari)

Though i do have a recurring problem with the get new post icon link. It's when I open it in the same tab. It comes up and does what it's supposed to do. But when I go back with the back button in the browser it still shows the new post icon when it shouldn't. It doesn't happen though when I go back from the topic with the forum tab up the top of the site. It's kinda weird and is there any reason why it happens?

With all seriousness, the only advice I can give you is upgrade to a Windows 7 machine. While I'm forced to use Macs at work, I don't have one at home for EB work, so you'll have to rely on our resident Mac users for advice. As a guess, it does sound like a caching issue to me, and as Brickdoctor said the history and the cache are two different things.

Yes, this is a feature not a fault. The "back" button is supposed to show you the page before exactly as it was without re-loading it in any way. (Opera does this very well; it even restores half completed posts.) Some browsers will re-load the page, but I consider this wrong. In any case, if you don't want this to happen press the "View Active Content" button; this will create a new page for you so the icons should be updated.

Cool thanks Sieggy! Yeah I was just wondering because I changed my browsing habits on EB to look at things that only interest me, not everything in a theme that interests me. It's good to know.
