lego-maniac Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hi all. sure you've all seen the moc of my friend 74Louloute posted few days ago. As this moc we'll be presented at Fanabrique2011, I've ask him to complete it. So, here is the part 2 of paris 1930 (you'll probably have part3 from another member soon ;) ) Here is a "real" pic of the dio you can found more original pics on my blog Hope you will like it, I'm waiting for your comments and criticism ! :) Quote
Lego Otaku Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 very nice!!! I like the angled layout. I do see one minor historical error: in the time era people feared the number 13 and would go out of the way to avoid 13 anywhere. Like hiring an extra person to a meeting to make it 14. And having building numbered something like 12 1/2 rather than 13. Just a little nitpick. ;) Quote

Btw, if you look more closely you'll see that over building do not have any number. 13 is a kind of signature. ;) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 This is absolutely amazing! That vintage pictures are fantastic and so are the incredible details! Bravò! Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Wow! Great creation, the tree, taxi, road curving, the tables and chairs are my favorite parts. Did you make this? Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Wow! Great creation, the tree, taxi, road curving, the tables and chairs are my favorite parts. Did you make this? All is home made, no copy the chair and the tables take me 2 hours of time to optimize the littles parts at 100% the worst was to clip the back of the chair but I succeed ! I'm very happy you notice this details The trees are also home made. Lights come from the idea of Louloute and for the cars, here is 2 bonus pics Thanks all for comments ! Quote
Adrian86 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 This is just as beautiful and breath taking as part one and the pictures are great as well! Quote
mrblue Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 those chairs and tables of the bistro, are really a masterpiece. too bad the whole diorama is a masterpiece itself!!! a truly piece of art! and a wonderful idea is to make only the facades... may be useful on the back of some bigger layouts! great works! have a nice lego day mrBlue Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Like WOW, I thought part one was AWESOME....still is but the SNOT road is just something else and those vehicles.....'lego-maniac' you seem to have caught the 30's feel in their bodywork. Especially the front end of the truck. I now wait for part three......VIVA LA LEGO ! Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 (edited) The back of the façade will look like this This pic was just a test made few days ago, I'm looking for good price for printing a poster of 2,00 m X 0,70m if ever you have links, they will be welcome (printing and stick lots of A3 is not a good idea...) lightningtiger ; Vive les lego ! ;) and "keeponbricking" would probably looks like : Contiune à "legoter" ! Gregorovich Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Well done, Lego-Maniac! Everything about it is perfect, even the minifigs' outfits and expressions. I'm sure it will look amazing next to Louloute's, but it's still a masterpiece on it's own. Well done, and thanks for sharing! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Like 74louloute's wonderful build, this is an equally impressive creation lego-maniac! From the buildings to the street details, and even the classic car is a great MOC in itself, very impressively-done overall and it's really nice to see this collaborative effort from two master builders. Can't wait for a third part then. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Beautiful work here, just like with Part 1. The cars especially are lovely. Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 19, 2011 Author Posted May 19, 2011 If ever you're intersted, I've hosted on BrickPirate the instructions for the pick up ;) and more over, here is some pics of the table and the chair Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 That's really nice! Almost epic, I like it when a setting tells a story. And although I'm not from France, I've been there some times and it's looks really good! Mainly the old-style(forgot the name) pictures really makes it complete! (love the car by the way)! Quote
KristofBD Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Excellent MOC's! Lots of clever techniques and most importantly, a great atmosphere. Well done! Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 C'est magnifique  ! But I don't see the man with the borsalino coming from Marseille ... Quote
Legoless Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 J'aime tres bocoup (sp?). Ces't le vrai Paris, n'est pas? That is just about the limits of my Schoolboy French, but this is yet another sensasional Parisienne MOC from some talented builders! Quote
MarvelZombie2099 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 C'est magnifique!! Or however you say that in French. Incredible work!! I love the car! Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 J'aime tres bEAUcoup (sp?). Thanks all, and thanks to make comments in French !!!! Quote

Zepher Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 It isn't very often that a MOC makes you nostalgic/makes you want to live in a different time period, but you really have succeeded here. I think something that most people ignore in most MOCs are the characters, the minifigures never seem to have a purpose, but in your's everyone seems to have a goal. I love it. The cars, as others have commented, are beautiful, and I really love the tree design as well, it's very unique. The grills where they meet with the sidewalk is awesome, Quote
lego-maniac Posted May 30, 2011 Author Posted May 30, 2011 Thanks a lot. I've take time for the minifigs but in my own it could be imporved My friend 74louloute make a better work on his figs on his part ....maybe I'm not objective on my work ! Quote
