I haven't bought any of these build-a-minifigure, but seeing that they are releasing more of the collectible minifigure parts in there, I think I'll be keeping a closer eye on it. Last week I saw the wrestler body, the hula girl torso and legs and something else that I can't remember now, but thought was cool. I just wish they had more leg choices.

The info I have received from associates of the store is that they add more parts every quarter, so a new addition should happen some time in April.

Back in the day, they used to have so much rare figures in the Build a Minifigure section in the Orlando Florida location! Now all they have are the common leftovers from CMF Series 1 and Series 2 in the section. :hmpf_bad:

Not just S1 and S2. On my last trip, I saw an accessory-less Guitar Punk from S4.

I love checking the bin. The store allows to mix and match so out of the latest 6 containers i got, i got a lot of goodies. Out of those, i have 6 complete figures, 15 just missing legs, 2 headless torsos, a pair of head/hat duos, and left overs consiting of minifigure parts(head, hat, hair, torso, legs, and a stray buzzsaw) that don't work together. Whenever i do my bricklink order for the 2 serieds 7 figures i want, i'm planning on ordering supplies to start completing the figures.

Indeed. I went to the LEGO store in Orlando a few weeks ago and got an April calendar with my order. For April 24-27th there was a highlighted block saying there would be new Build a Mini elements available.

I have found some good stuff in the bins to date, a lot of CM parts but my real best finds have been mermaids.

Old mermaids or POTC mermaids? (I'm guessing old actually, as never seen licensed parts in BAM, but what about now that the Ocean King has the same mould? is it now un-licensed?!)

Probably the Pirates (non-licensed) tail.

Right... you know in Lego stores where they have those mini-figure pick-a-brick parts. I want to know people's opinions on paying for 5 parts instead of making 3 full figures. For example, if you wanted 5 Dracula heads rather than 1 Dracula head and 4 useless parts...

I don't know whether the employees would allow it or not as when I made 3 mini-figures they didn't check them.

Just wanted to know what were peoples opinions on this. TT

It really depends on the store. The rule is that you have to build an entire figure, however I have been to stores that allow any 15 elements in the box. I've tried to do it at other stores and they won't sell the box to me. It really depends on the store's enforcement of the rules and what employees are on staff at any given time. You just need to try your own store.

Thanks... did they just deny it and did they say why?

So following my previous topic, I decided to write this topic on whether it would be acceptable to have extra parts in the build a fig box. I personally do think you can for example have 2 accessories on one fig if they let you plus if they maybe charged an extra amount of money. Some stores aren't fussed and you can have 2/3 accessories on one minifigure or just parts as long as you don't just load p the compartments(that is just wrong) TT

Ummm... I really don't think this needs another topic. Didn't you already ask this question in the other topic?

Merging.

I was told "no we don't allow that here" at one store and "Yeah whatever you want" at another. So it depends on the store, I would definately suggest not trying to sneak parts though, as that is stealing and if you just really need one thing just ask.

Yeah I agree;)

At my store they stick to the 15 parts rule pretty well, but they're pretty lenient as far as what 15 parts those are. I've never seen anyone take 15 of any single part type, but say, exchanging accessories for extra hats/hair is fair game.

So let me get this straight, they don't allow you to have more then 15 parts to your figure? If so I can sort of understand it, I've neer been to a LEGO store as there is none in my area apart from Legoland Windsor which is like 2 hours away...

But why do they have this rule?

But why do they have this rule?

Parts as in torso assembly, leg assembly, hat, hair, head, accessory. Any 15 parts in a container.
