I've realized that during my dark ages I missed out on quite a few really nice themes and subthemes. I really regret missing the vikings, western, the initial Harry Potter, and even Knights Kingdom 2 (all except the minifigs that is). But more than anything I regret missing all the adventurers themes.

What about you guys? Any particular themes or even just sets that you regret missing out on?

I missed (and regret all of) pirates, western, harry potter and adventurer themes, but thanx to ebay and bricklink, I have been able to put my hands on most of the misb sets I wanted except for the pirates... still far too expensive!

have a nice lego day

I missed Harry Potter and a lot Star Wars, and am unwilling to pay what people are asking for the sets that I would want... I was sort of in a mini dark ages. Luckily, TLG has released both enough Harry Potter and Star Wars sets to have made me happy...

I mostly regret missing out on the Western Theme. It has a lot of stuff that not like anything that I have. I did regret the Harry Potter sets but have made up for it with the newer sets. And I regret that I got into the modulars just a little too late because the Cafe Corner was discontinued before I could get together the money to buy it. Since I'll never be able to afford the price now, my modular collection won't ever be complete.

I regret missing out on the studios sets and all but 2 of the Batman sets. That's what I get for sticking strickly to 1 theme. Fortunately now that is no longer the case.

I regret missing out on the Corner Café and Market Street of the Modular theme!

The two themes I regret missing are Batman and some Creator Sets, otherwise I'm fine with the themes around now. I only regret that Star Wars sets are really expensive, because now I need another source to get bley and dark bley bricks^^

EDIT: Oh, and of course Collectible Minifigures Series 1! Zombie, d*mmit!

Ninja's, several of the Adventurers (I was collecting them but my parents never bought me the big ones :sadnew: )The old Harry Potter sets, and of course Batman!!! :sceptic:

I regret missing the Western theme and the Market Street and Café Corner sets. I'd like to have tha Batmobile UCS too.

Sets that I didn't have also when I was a KFoL were the Pirates one, some of Town, Space and Castle lines, the #8880, a lot of Model Team ones, and during my "almost-dark-age" (I never fully lost interest on LEGO products) the #8480. During my "lurking age" (from 2003 to late 2009) the #8455 and the two modulars mentioned above.

Somewhat off topic...I regret selling my Lego when I was a kid. I had all but Fort Legorado of the Western theme, which I want oh so bad. It also would've saved me money rebuying the Forestmen and Ninja sets over again.

I regret missing out on Batman and some Exo-Force sets.

My dark age was from the mid-90s, all the way up to 2010, so I had no knowledge of any of the themes from that period... I guess I missed those ones.

None actually. Well not now. Until I found Bricklink in 2008 I had lots of regrets about not having minifigs or pieces and parts, I missed an awful lot of sets throughout my life but now I simply buy the bits I need to supplement my existing collection of stuff. Hoorah! throw in a few downloaded instructions and voila! almost instant vintage classic brand new old collection. simples. :sweet:

I too went into modualr buildings a bit too late and missed out on cafe corner and market street.

As far as themes I missed out on, my biggest regret is Pirates (1st serie) as I did not collect those as a kid, i was more into city back then.

During my drak ages I feel I missed out on all adventurers lines and western.

If only I could be rich and go for all the MISB sets I want!!!!

The 2 big series I missed that are really expensive to re-acquire MISB nowadays are the early Star Wars sets [i like the iconic TIE/Rebel ships], the amazing UCS models [damn you Star Destroyer] and the Space Mars Mission sets. I've gained almost half of the Mars Mission sets, but the big ones are still either elusive or very costly to obtain.

I regret missing out on every castle theme ever. I have only a handful of the 2007-2009 sets. Wish I had a time machine and tons of money to buy me hordes of the cheap sets to get armies of every faction ever!

I regret not purchasing any of the NBA sets. I have most of the basketball sets but I never bought the licensed minifig collections or the big basketball court. I need me a Lego Kobe Bryant! :cry_sad:

I regret missing the first few series of the LEGO Collectible Minifigs.

I picked up a couple of Series 4 while at GAME the other day, and I think they're pretty sweet for £2.

That reminds me; I need to get the Musketeer before Series 5 come out...

Bluebeard, out-

Batman!!! This theme came along during my dark ages and it's only now ive realised just how cool the minifigs are! The vehicles and buildings I have no love for but having bought the main character minifigs this week, my wallet would have preferred I bought them a few years back *huh*

My biggest regrets were passing on a system scale imperial star destroyer that my dad got me, because I had just built it at my friends house and I didn't want to build it again :hmpf_bad: , big mistake!

Another regret I have is switching my Bat-wing for a batmobile, I would have loved that Joker!!! But two-face is okay. Also wish I bought more batman stuff, especially the cheap sets.

I've managed to collect a huge spread of themes covering 21 years, and looking back I'm shocked to see that the only major theme that I missed picking up even a single set from was Batman! 2006 and 2007 were about the closest I ever came to a dark age (low single digit acquisitions for those two years) but I still can't say how I managed to not grab a single Batman set. I certainly saw the sets on store shelves, but I just never got around to purchasing any, and then before I knew it they were not longer in production. I think there were a lot of great sets to come out of the Batman theme, and I particularly like the minifigures (I'm not normally a huge minifig fanatic). While I'd still love to acquire some sets, I can't justify the prices on Bricklink.

While I don't go out of my way to collect a set from every theme just for the sake of it, I always seem to find that there is at least one set per theme that I want. This will allow me to never repeat what happened with Batman.

Particularly with large sets now, I often find myself picking them up under the mentality of "you'll regret it later if you don't buy it". While this means I spend large amounts of money on Lego now, I know that I'll be happy about my choices in the future.
