Brickmaster Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Yes, they are improved by a whole lot, i still wont be getting any though... Quote
tjb tyranno Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 Yo you know Vladek's Dark Castle? It sure has alot of minifigures! *satis* Quote
medib Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 yeah, but I'm afraid at what the set will cost. I may need a mortgage just to afford the set... *satis* Ben Quote
DoubleT Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Please Mr Banker, I need a mortgage in my house, so I can by a Castle ;) Quote
christopher110 Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I got this list from Bricksworld (Lego exclusive in Singapore): 8873 Fire Ball Catapult S$14.90 8874 Battle Wagon S$39.90 8875 King's Siege Tower S$39.90 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave S$39.90 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress S$199.90 For your information, 1 USD is approximately S$2. I like KK1 cos the colour scheme is more striking. However, I'll buy all of them when it's released. I've to save money starting from now. Hahaha. I'm a bit disappointed that I couldn't find 8799 and 8800 at here. Perhaps it was not released in Asia or what...... I really don't know. A bit frustrated. Quote
ApophisV Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Thanks for the info! :) I bought my very first Knights Kingdom set yesterday (Vladek Encounter) and I have to say that I like it more than I thought.... The figs and color schemes are still silly, but the accessoiries could be useful for some fantasy style knight things... Nothing in there for any realistic MOCs, but fantasy is possible.... Quote
Jipay Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I also bought this set because I needed the helmet for some SG project :-D The accessories are just to good to be true :) (not ther swords though) Quote
ThomasBrickheim Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I find some of the KK2 sets also good part-packs, when they're for sale. For example, the Border Ambush is a great partspack. Many plates, many bricks. Also many new lightgray bricks. And a Shadowknight! :-) Quote
KimT Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Looks better than last year. Still I think that KK is too fantastic. It needs a little more realism as in the good ol' castle days. The castle is big and bulky. But it's getting better and better. Maybe in 2010 Lego will be able to produce a castle theme as strong as when the Black Falcons, the Crusaders and the Dragonlords ruled the realm. KimT "Onwards men!" Jipay Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 I dont want black falcon. I have it and I think it was good for what it was because toi me it was magic. But today, I prefer sets with a lot of details ! :) Quote
Bricks0937 Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 i personally would like to LEGO do some more fantasy type sets with the castle theme with dwarfs, elfs, orcs, etc. Also, they need to put dragons back into the sets. Not the dragon like in the Vikings set but the good ol dragon. Quote
The Middleman Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 They do need to put minifig-scale monsters/other races in Castle themes. I disagree on the dragons though. The old dragons are nostalgic, but I'd prefer a larger dragon. NOT something like the Vikings dragons, but something of similar shape/size with waaaaaaay less large pieces. Make the wings hinged at the joints, so that they can curl, for one. Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I too disliked the old dragon. lego needs to work on there monsters. they arent good. I miss the pirate themes. I dont see my beloved monkeys in any sets anymore! :'( Quote
Jipay Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Well I do like the dragons ! But they could be imporoved a lot with a simple thing : make the legs move !!! They could also improve the horses (waiting for CC fans to scream). I mean look at them, those poor things can only move their heads ! how cruel !!! Quote
jonfett Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 They could also improve the horses (waiting for CC fans to scream). I mean look at them, those poor things can only move their heads ! how cruel !!! Plus they have a gaping big hole in their backs! ;) Jon. Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 ive never been impressed with the horses, i mean the legs should at least be able too move! poor things! i wouldnt be happy with them changing the horses though. Then there would be original, and new. Ive already had enogh with the changes.umm.... what was this thread about again? Quote
The Middleman Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I too like the old horses. I think jointed horses would look really odd. Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 they would look odd, the old dragon would have been better jointed, though. I always wanted lego to mace a lego zoo. My friend even painted a white horse striped for a zebra! anyways, back on topic... Quote
MattZitron Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Is the armour on the Knights themselves slightly different? Quote
sam89 Posted February 12, 2005 Author Posted February 12, 2005 Yes, they now have pictures of their animal on the instead of a pattern, like the megafigs do. Quote
MattZitron Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Yes, they now have pictures of their animal on the instead of a pattern, like the megafigs do. Any news if the heads'll be different? Quote
sam89 Posted February 12, 2005 Author Posted February 12, 2005 The heads are the same from what I can see. Quote
The Middleman Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Check out that GATE! A drawbridge AND a hot-lava dropper! That's a HUGE improvement! :oo Quote
MattZitron Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 I know its sacrilige but I kinda like the big swords either side of the bridge. Quote
