The Executive Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Hey, the divers, i remember getting these back when they were brand new. I still have most of the pieces scattered some where. Quote
natelite Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Well I tried to appeal all the really old EB fellows who were lurking PA when they were teenagers. Now, I'm not a particular fan of the actual pop culture so I don't know the names of today's most wanted chicks. you don't watch movies? the hottest chicks these days are scarlett johansson, jessica alba, angelina jolie (although i find her more slutty than hot), ...well those were the only names i remember. PA is way past her prime, although i wouldn't say she was ever hot before since her lips were fake, the boobs were fake, just about everything is fake including the hair. maybe not the brain...but what else can you replace the air head with? more air? Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Bah. Like more than half the "hot" chicks who are popular today I can't stand. They're all pretty much annoying people and nothing all that rarely spectacular in looks. Fooey. Anyway, you have these AquaRaiders, it's been hinted that Bionicle might be water-themed, and Hobbes translated one of the Bionicle accessory pack names as possibly meaning "octopus launcher". What's with all the water next year? And by that, I mean, "AWESOME! Look at all the water-themed sets next year!" Quote

Fooey. it's known as high maintenance! lol...yes celebrities can be high maintenance... but if you want easy maintenance you would buy a cheap, visually disgusting hybrid and not a sl500 benz. :-P Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 H-hey... I'M a cheap, visually disgusting hybrid! *sad* Quote
snefroe Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 i was refering to cars... :-| |-/ cars? well... you know... this topic used to be about lego... lego divers theme actually... in any other forum , we'd say: get back on topic or the thread will be closed! Quote
Asuka Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 And therefore i love this forum. Because i think this could be a place where adults can make their own decisions without forget about a social mean topic: Tolerance. :-$ Quote

I like the sound of that *sweet* Nevertheless, while we do wander off topic *cough* once in a while *cough* we always get back on topic again. So lets do this here, too, shall we? Good :-) I know I still owe a review of 6559 and 6560, but I'm taking care of my parents-in-law's house for most of the month of August and I'm rarely at my apartment. But I'll do my best to squeeze in some time on one of the next weekends. All I can say: great sets with nice little details, great accessories, true classic System :-) Quote

Good :-) Seriously we should! :'-) I am very curiously about these coming Aqua Raiders. But by the allready knowned set names i am a little disappointed too. It seems like they are pretty based on some underwater scenery, which is not bad at all, but i still miss the presence of boats. And i don Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 What I really loved in the Divers is that it was a sub-theme of CITY !! Real Life !! And the boats could be moded to be fishermen boats and what have you ;-) The only criticism I would make from the pics (since I don't have any of the sets |-/ ) is that it misses more underlife stuff such as weed, crabs... I fear that Aqua Raider will be a way too modern theme that can not fit a city :-/ Please TLC, prove me wrong !! *yoda* Quote
Asuka Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I am ashamed for it but i also miss these sets.... It Quote

Way_Moby Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Sorry for bumping an ancient topic, but I just wanted to ask, was I the only person who was sad that the Divers theme never had any fun shipwrecks to explore (minus the brown arcs that came with a couple sets...). I mean, with the pirates theme near that time, I thought they could've stuck a cool wreck hull, complete with a skeleton or two, in a set for a sub to explore. Oh well... Quote

I mean, with the pirates theme near that time, I thought they could've stuck a cool wreck hull, complete with a skeleton or two, in a set for a sub to explore. Oh well... Set 6560 did have a skeleton and a treasure chest in the undersea section, but not a wreck hull, although the arch shapes in the rock formation might be intended as some form of wreck as you mentioned. Thank you for revisiting this old topic as if you hadn't I'd never have seen it (Joined a couple of years too late!), and I really like the Divers sets. I think it was one of the last well designed groups of sets before juniorisation really kicked in in the nineties. I also prefer Divers to the new Atlantis sets, which have too much trans-neon green on the subs and minifigures for my taste. Quote
AllanSmith Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 This is a very very old MOC (over 10 years) using Divers set parts and is a Hyperbaric Chamber for divers. Control panel is modelled from pictures on the web way back when Divers sets came out. Open back for playability Enjoy Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I have Stingray Explorer, and it's a great little set... I always had it sort of blending into the Aquanauts subtheme, like some civilian divers blending into the 'war' between the Aquanauts and the Aquasharks. Also had some great minifig heads that were swapped out into my pirate crew and now city life. Something so cool about that white-haired man of action head that I love. It's so very Race Bannon.
