I got two right away!

Although, I really don't like the new bow and arrow.

I like the other weapons just fine. It's nice to have a variety of them.

I really like the new little knives.

anybody seen this set in Walmart yet?

Our Wal-mart has a lot of them in Saukeville, Wisconsin. However, my brother who is visiting Georgia right now has not seen them at Wal-mart.

and I have a question

the new weapons are made in soft or hard plastic?

They're soft plastic.

They're soft plastic.

The weapons are soft plastic and very flexible.

:hmpf_bad:

mmm soft plastic, really don't please me.

how would you rate (those who have the set) those weapons?

deserve a change of my mind?

thanks

Just picked this set up tonight, along with a Heroica set. The weapons work well for Heroica and are sort of meh for normal use. That said, they lend some nice variety and liven up an already great set a little more. I think the only really ugly piece is the bow; the knives look fine, the sword and axe look good to me, but I prefer their traditional counterparts. The standouts in my eyes are the scepter and wand; much better looking than the star wand, and (I think) preferable to the plain lightsaber rod. I imagine seeing them in a different color and better plastic would make quite an improvement.

Either way, I don't think there's much cause to worry that they'll become standard fare for castle sets; it just seems like TLC took the opportunity to double dip on the Heroica weapons to add some flair to this set; the rest of the summer lineup all use the standard stuff.

This is a pretty great set, especially considering the price point.

Wonderful review! A great parts pack, But that tiny bucket shall never defeat the Fabuland bucket!

No offense Bricks200 but, Oh wow I remember when Fabuland came out. I despised those sets, however some of the parts are quite useful

Anyways back to topic great review can't wait to build my blacksmith and I love the new bow (Yeah can't wait for all the flames from that comment). You will see I think I can change your minds.

I have just finished assembling the set.....AWESOME little play set...the water wheel works perfectly and those weapons - more than AWESOME plus a bucket with chicken !

The figures are too cool and the detailing on the torso's and leg's are also perfect....i.e. the bottom of the smith's apron !

Brick On Smith On !

Yeah to bad I would be able to get so many of those if it came with a bucket of chicken. Honey I bought us chicken tonight. Well after about 5 nights in a row she might wonder what is going on but oh well.

It's not a new color-- it's 316 Titanium Metallic, the same color that is (to my knowledge) used most armor and weapon pieces used by the dragon faction in Kingdoms. Bricklink calls it Pearl Dark Gray, although it is slightly different than the Pearl Dark Gray color used prior to the debut of Kingdoms (147 Dark Grey Metallic).

What I meant wasn't that it was a new color. But that armor has never appeared in that color before and is not in any other set in that color.
