75342 Republic Fighter Tank™, is my latest purchase. + I found a nice mod for it on rebrickable, just need to get the xtra pieces someday.

Took me quite time to decide to get this set.

Got two of the 75387: Boarding the Tantive IV set with a discount (54.99€ >>> 42.99€) at Smyths today. I really like how they build the doors using the snot technique. And finaly got my first rebel fleet troopers + Antilles! Would trade Fives for any of the other anniversary minifigs though.

I also got my first parts in the new reddish orange color. And i must say - i like it! The color really pops but is not as glaring as i though it would be.

Picked up the UCS Republic Gunship over the weekend out in the Middle East for a decent deal at the store in Bahrain. 140BD wasn’t cheap but a heck of a lot better than the secondary market.

Bought the Rex microfighter: made me super happy in ways most lego sets don’t - I didn’t feel guilty buying and building it. A rare treat for someone who sees his afol status as an addiction/affliction.

Posting this to sort of help me think while sharing LOL:

I bought Yavin, the Gunship, and the Phase 2 Clone battlepack all on May the 4th and I structured the purchase of the three sets in a way so that I got two Troop Carriers promos.

I am strongly considering returning my purchases and GWP's (even though I love the deal on the gunship I got). I been thinking, Ninjago is just too good, and LotR is going HARD, and I don't think I like the Star Wars franchise anymore. And this timing is weird because I have always wanted a Captain Rex and all these cool clones. Not a fan of LEGO's heavier focus of display-focused Star Wars sets the past few years, but otherwise, LEGO has been killing it with Star Wars.

Watch me give up the theme and within like 3 years we get a Jango Slave-1, a Geonosis Arena, and Endor MBS set! LOOLLLLL! I'll totally regret it then!

When I came out of my dark ages, I was lucky and found great SW sets at even greater discounts. Bought them all then freaked out and returned them all. I was worried about going down that rabbit hole. I managed to stay for a long time but was eventually sucked in, missing out on quite a few sets I actually liked. The TLG price increases of recent years made me regret not buying what I thought was too expensive at the time. Reality warp and lego maths now make me look back on it and think they were decent deals compared to today’s standards. The point I am making is that staying away from the SW theme might not be that easy so think twice before passing on sets you might regret later on. The sweet spot is to selectively pick what sets to indulge on, a challenge when so many good sets are released across themes!

Today i bought the 75373: Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack. The Imperial Commando is such a cool minifigure. I really like it! Although i noticed small differences in the printing between the two minifigs.

I also got 2 of the Luke Skywalker mech for the printed tile and rebel flight suit. I feel kinda dumb for falling into this trap :iamded_lol:

Finally pulled the trigger on the Fang Fighter and Tie Interceptor. The latter in particular is a great addition to my fleet, I’ve been waiting for years to find something to complement Major Vonreg’s TIE, one of my first SW ships. I was worried they were too different, but they actually match quite well and I think it’s believable that they were originally the same type of ship and Vonreg modified his quite heavily. I might still modify one of them to match the wing angles of the other . . but not sure which . . hrm.

After not buying any Star Wars sets all year, I cracked in early June:

75372 - Clone Trooper and Battle Droid Battle Pack
75373 - Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack
75379 - R2-D2
75383 - Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator
75387 - Boarding the Tantive IV
75386 - Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle
75391 - Captain Rex's Y-Wing Microfighter (gah, this should've been a playscale set...)

And thankfully the Leicester Square Lego Store still had abundant copies of the Battle Droid Carrier, which was a really nice bonus! Now I await the summer wave

Rex current only comes as a minifigure in the ginormous UCS Venator class star destroyer or in a £12 mircofighter. For good recent sets I would say

- the Ghost

- the croissant guard gunship

- the Clan Kryze v Gideon's super commandos Mandalorian Battlepack

- the Artoo set  ( it is slightly smaller but imo  it makes the UCS seem obsolete in comparison)

- the Mini AT-TE

- the holiday special set

- the Gideon Bunker battle

- the CIS v Republic Battlepack

- this one I haven't gotten yet but it looks good and I plan to.

- the T-6 jedi shuttle

I was gifted the Cap’n Rex Microfighter recently. Build is nice, but I wish we got a playscale version instead, but this way we get what we really want. The Rex minifig rocks, plain and simple; adding a few custom parts to it, though, makes it all the better looking.

I also visited the LEGO Store, and, while I didn’t pick up any sets, managed to acquire a couple of X-Wing Luke keychains to upgrade my current minifig.

Lastly, I found out that Target had the Cody helmet for $39. I started the year with no plans to buy him, but that discount was too good not to pass up. He looks good built up, and I’m glad I didn’t spend too much money on him.

Hey there, here’s the drill, for me it’s easy to stay away from the big pricey SW sets but I feel like not being careful with smaller ones could also be death by a thousand cuts as TLG keep cranking them out and they’re not exactly cheap/it adds up. My question to you is this: of “medium” sized sets, which of your purchase of the past few months do you think was the best/which do you regret? I am way behind on the past two-three waves but if I were to go catch up mode on these sets that would set me back a pretty penny so curious if there is a consensus for/against a particular mid-price set. Thanks

So today i bought Jedi Bob's Starfighter and it turns out Jedi Bob's torso is completely useless for me because of the yellow neckline. Bummer

I also got a 3rd Mandos vs Imperials battleback. I love the Imperial Commandos!

75394 Star Destroyer will arrive tomorrow. A Bricklink order with BD-1 and poncho for Cal is on its way as well.

Hmmm, part ID for that poncho? Could be nice whenever I get either the 75394, or Cal Cestis only.

Today's haul:

- 75385 Jedi Bob's Starfighter
- 75385 Ahsoka Tano's Duel on Peridea
- 75396 Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pitt
- (Non-SW) 76286 The Milano and 77092 Great Deku Tree

Was considering the ISD but the half-baked nature of the Cal figure has really put me off so I'll rest my hopes on a Stinger Mantis based on Jedi: Survivor next year (which technically still maintains the sanctity of the Anniversary Cal figure being based on Fallen: Order - a game we'll never get sets for).

Maxbaut just posted a review of the 40755 Imperial Dropship vs Rebel Scout Speeder and says the set costs almost 40€, so i guess the price is 39,99€. The set has 383 parts.

EDIT: Ok, later in the video he says the price is around 40€. Maybe he does not know for sure.

OOPS, wrong thread.

Occasionally I'll cave on an impulse buy while somewhere in tax-free NH...this time at a WalMart:
75396 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc and one more 75383 Sith Infiltrator.  This particular WM did not put those damn spider harnesses on the sets - they were all freshly stocked with pristine boxes.  Couldn't resist.

Man I wish I could move to NH. Hear there's a bit of a *ahem* kyber crystal problem there, but honestly you get that everywhere nowadays. It's certainly an issue where I live.

Would you reccomend the Sarlacc set? I really like how it looks, but even with the giant sarlacc pit, when it came down to it I just couldn't bring myself to pull that $80 trigger.

You didn't get recognized for this and I feel you need to be.

I impulse bought the mandalorian battle pack- they make the most of the part count they're allotted, and I love the inclusion of the clear element. It's also a segment of terrain that feels dynamic and interesting enough as a set while not being some weird non-canon monstrosity like we used to get. Ironically for a battle pack, my least favorite part is the figs- mandos are fine, but we have so many blue ones already. I want some color variety- could we get a pack with two red ones, a white one, and a yellow one, please? Maybe a Pink Sabine in a rebels set? - and I have no attachment to the beskar stormtroopers. I might pick up another pack when it goes on sale for the parts and to continue bulking up my mandalorian clans a bit, but I usually end up getting at least 4 of the $20 BPs over the course of their lifespan and I really just don't feel it with this one. Incredible build decisions, lego, please keep this up for future sets with different figs!
