TheOneVeyronian Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I made another step towards acquiring all the Star Wars minifigs I'm interested in the other day, and picked up a brand new K-3PO minifig for £9. That one had been troubling me for months as all the online prices in Europe were twice that, so I just had to jump on it when I saw that price! Now to just acquire a reasonably priced Kit Fisto and Max Rebo before the 2015 wave hits the shelves... that's very unlikely for now. Quote
BrickSev Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I know if I start buying the system sets I won't be able to stop and I'll be bankrupt in no time! I'll stick to UCS stuff for now, and probably just OT sets, such a shame that older stuff can't be bought anymore but that's what happens when you're late to the party. I've definitely caught the bug though, I just ordered an AT-ST 10174 set from eBay. I know that feeling I find very hard to stop buying them. I also know what you mean about the older stuff. I have been a Lego collector for nearly most of my life (started about 25 years ago) but I had a quite long absence from the hobby and during it they released the best, most sought after Lego set: the 10179 Millennium Falcon How much did you pay for the 10174? If I'm not indiscreet Quote

If I'm not indiscreet £125. Twice the original RRP but I've always loved the walkers and it's the only other OT set I can afford at the minute. The box isn't in great shape but not too worried about that. I'd love to get the Imperial Shuttle, B-Wing, Y-Wing and of course the MF but I'd need a lottery win! Quote

The "average" cost for 1074 in UK is about 198£ so you saved on the price it has on the market If you plan to build it, the box's shape is not so important. Personally I think I could never be an "investor" since every time I buy a Lego set I have to build it, I can't resist The Millennium Falcon easily go beyond the 3000 in any currency you chose I saw one at 3000£, another at 5000€. If you look at the Lego investment sites it is listed about 3560$ / 1999£ / 2828€ depending on market. It appears in the USA it is sold at higher prices. Quote
ISDAvenger Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Used but complete minus boxes Battle for Hoth Luke's Landspeeder (New Edition) Endor Battle-pack Ewok Attack Droid Escape (New Edition) Desert Skiff (New Edition) Got them all for $130.00. Quote
BrickSev Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Last week I placed an order on Lego Shop of several Lego Star Wars sets. 75043 AT-AP 10 75035 Kashyyk Troopers (I'm expanding my Clone Army ) 3 75001 Republic Troopers vs Sith Troopers (I think I won't have enough "bodies" for an actual Old Republic/ Sith army, so I either use them for some diorama or I use them for my "Brick Army" army project Namely a "continuity-free" Science Fiction army) Few days before I found 8097 Slave I in a local shop at a very interesting price and so I bought it. Just curious. I did liquidize a majority of my collection, about 95% of it. I am in the process of rebuilding, but not to the glory of what it once was unfortunately. My UCS Falcon and two USC SSDs are but a fond memory. It's ok though. Edited December 2, 2014 by ISDAvenger Quote
Winged Gundark Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I got myself a brand-new unopened 10212 to keep myself busy during the Christmas holidays. It wasn't exactly cheap, but definitely worth the price. It is IMO one of the best looking UCS models ever released and one of the coolest ships in OT. Quote
TK924 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Just ordered the 75050 B-Wing on sale for $42.49 I'm still waiting to see the 7965 Falcon go on sale. Quote

The fact is I already have the 4504 and I don't know if I'll end with just an "upgraded" copy of the Falcon I already have. The 10179 is another story of course Would you suggest the 7965 anyway? Kodan Black Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Got a bunch of minifigs off bricklink that I feel no SW collection should be without: Vader, Yoda, Palpatine, etc. Quote

Tough call. I have older sets that have since seen re-release like the AT-AT and the ISD so I'm looking to add sets that I don't already have. Both Falcons are nice though. Quote

Both Falcons are nice though. Tough call indeed. 7965's front seems "slimmer" and the overall set "larger" (the latter due to the higher number of pieces) The design looks very similar. Very tough call. 7965 is a great set and if I hadn't 4504 I would have already bought it but even I prefer to get those sets I don't already have. Thank you for posting the comparison photo Quote
Bissspuren Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) Got the B-Wing for 32€ online at toysrus.de. Didnt want it but couldnt pass it at that price either Edited December 2, 2014 by Bissspuren Quote
Slurpifier Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Is the new B-Wing worth the price? I am considering getting it for a friend for Christmas. Recently picked up a Death Star Troopers battlepack at £7.99, and another MicroFighters Clone Turbo Tank at full price. What can I say, I was on my way home from work :) Quote

MicroFighters never had a huge "Wow factor" for me but I never had them in my hands, so my opinion is based only on the pics I saw Quote

MicroFighters never had a huge "Wow factor" for me but I never had them in my hands, so my opinion is based only on the pics I saw The minifig is amazing! That said, as a display I like it but it doesn't stand out next to all your big sets. (No one who saw my collection noticed any of my microfighter :( ) They are fun to play with, Like little race cars with gun. I would say: I you intend to play with it buy it! But if you only want to display it, wait for a sale. The 9.99$ price being a little overpriced Quote
Azrielsc Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Waiting for the delivery of my 10188 Death Star that is coming today... A bit regretful since I could have used that cash and pick up a 10212 Imperial shuttle instead... Argh, decisions! Quote

But if you only want to display it, wait for a sale. The 9.99$ price being a little overpriced I love Clone Troopers Minifigures :I'm building a Clone Army right now (It's no very huge, just about 120 Clones and about 40 vehicles but it's growing) However like you said it's a bit overpriced (retail price here is 9.99€, which is even more the price on US market) I have the first "standard" size Clone Turbo Tank so I too thought the micro tank could go unnoticed among my collection. However when you mentioned "little race cars with guns" you gave me an idea Perhaps they could be used for some little Brickfilm. Their size would make filming easy (easier to move around ) and they "micro" size to add a funny factor to the scene. It may be worth a try. Any other micro-fighter you would suggest for the "little race cars with guns" thing? Thank you very much for the info :) and inspiration. If I'll ever make that little Brickfilm I'll give you credits for the inspiration Quote

BrickSev Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Big enough though! ;) Thank you I know there are armies with thousand clones around. If I'm not mistaken the current record is 89K! But I'm pleased to have my growing army I'll post pics as soon as I complete to build the last 75035 sets I bought. It is built around a core of 20 7035 sets. In my last Lego Star Wars "acquisition" I bought 10 of them from Lego Shop and the AT-PT so I have Commander Gree as well One of my projects is about creating a what I call a "Grand Brick Army". Just a continuity-free Sci-Fi army with Clones, droids, Old Republic and Sith troopers all together with even alien allies (Wookies, Ewoks, etc) I know many persons prefer to stay close to continuity but I think the most interesting aspect of Lego is the ability to create our own universe Quote

I only have around 40.....but It will expand with the new awesome BPs coming next wave! However like you said it's a bit overpriced (retail price here is 9.99€, which is even more the price on US market) Well I used the US price because I bought it while I was there visiting some family. Here in Canada they are 12.99$ Any other micro-fighter you would suggest for the "little race cars with guns" thing? I like all of them. They are all such iconic ships: MF, ISD, AAT, Clone turbo tank, X-wing and tie interceptor. Only "problem": none of them have wheels. Only the clone tank. They slide well on my carpet but not so much on my table. Still I like them. You should look at some reviews to see the size for yourself and all the details of each build to be sure they have what you are looking for. Thank you very much for the info :) and inspiration. If I'll ever make that little Brickfilm I'll give you credits for the inspiration Cool. Looking forward to your brickfilm Quote
