Picked up the new 75055 ISD today for 20% off! all built. I think just the Droid Gunship and a couple of the Death Star battle packs will clear my backlog of several years of sets released during a fairly long dark age.

Wow that's awesome! I only have around 40.....but It will expand with the new awesome BPs coming next wave!

Next year BPs should be Geonosis Clone Troopers (they look cool in the "desert camo  ) Senate guard and Stormtroopers.

I think the first is going to be the new "Kashyyyk Troopers": 4 clones in cool armor with a decent vehicle. Even though I think many will still prefer 75035 because those clones appeared in Episode III

Stormtroopers pack is interesting. Plain white armor for our mods and customs  Not exactly "Republic" Clones but after all they are just a sort of Phase III armor.

Well I used the US price because I bought it while I was there visiting some family. Here in Canada they are 12.99$

Lego is much cheaper in US. Here in Europe most sets costs even more. I have always been curious to know why. I mean Lego is a company based in Europe. Perhaps it's due to the manufacturing locations, I don't know.

I like all of them. They are all such iconic ships: MF, ISD, AAT, Clone turbo tank, X-wing and tie interceptor.

Only "problem": none of them have wheels. Only the clone tank. They slide well on my carpet but not so much on my table.

Still I like them. You should look at some reviews to see the size for yourself and all the details of each build to be sure they have what you are looking for.

Also the only other ground vehicle micro-fighter is the AAT which is a bit overpriced since for the same price we get a droid instead of a proper Minifigure.

It's a droid pilot, though, which we can find in the Vulture. I have been lucky and I found 75041 Vulture Droid at 30% discount. I bought 2 of them. They are more impressive than I thought and surely a great improvement compared to the one released in 2005 :classic:

Cool. Looking forward to your brickfilm :classic:

Thanks :classic: I have a lot of ongoing projects. I have been away from the hobby for a long time and now I have so many projects. Most of them, well nearly all of them  , feature Lego Star Wars.

I just purchased my first SW sets since my wife bought me the Jedi Defense set back in 2002. I love the a-wing and, in particular, the fantastic x-wing model.

I thought about getting the Millennium Falcon instead but decided to wait for a hopefully improved version for Episode VII.

I also turned to Bricklink as I really wanted the updated Yoda figure and a flesh-coloured Obi-Wan for my very modest collection. Next up on the wish list: Boba Fett, a few stormtroopers and a new Emperor.

Finally, finally, was able to purchase a sealed copy of Home One. Very nice design and minifigures that have held up over the years.

Congratulations for your acquisition :classic: How is the set? I has been released when I was having my "long absence" from Lego world, so I never had the chance to check its details. Also, if I may ask, how much did you pay it?

I ask because where I live it's so difficult to find older, rare SW sets at a reasonable price

my local toystore still has it....€ 179.

The figs are fantastic; I got em all loose from bricklink+bought the most recent A-Wing a while ago.

Have fun with the set!

In the Netherlands, "Sinterklaas", or Saint Nicholas came by again. Got this year's Jedi Interceptor (yellow) and a Vulture Droid. Actually these are not that great sets, the Interceptor is a rehashed design, which is good, but it was not that special, but the Vulture Droid was just bleh. Too oversized, strange playability (what? pilot?) and not that great looking either. But I wanted to own them either way, they have still got good bits so I'm happy :)

Also, couldn't leave 30244 Jedi Interceptor polybag sitting on the shelf for €3, so got that one too.

I really really like the set. I got a sealed copy after it was out of production, but when it was still pretty cheap. For some reason it got pretty bad reviews when it came out; not sure why. I loved the build, the design, and the mini figures.

It's a very, very nice set. I'm not one to pick up lots of sets in a theme, so I usually stick to the unique looking ones. I managed to find one for a reasonable price from a few towns over from where I live on eBay. Managed to pay a little less than retail for it actually (89.99 USD with 14.99 shipping), so I'm very happy about it.

I've always really liked the set too. I really enjoy the unique design it has. We don't end up with many hangars these days, let alone with a control room on the side.

It's not uncommon for sets to get bad reviews when they are released only to become "sought after" items when they get out of production.

It's like with certain movies: "professional critics" made negative reviews, most persons trust them until someone says "let's give it a look an judge it by myself" then it comes a "Wow it's masterpiece"

I wish I wasn't away from the hobby when it was released. I know many collectors don't like "play sets" too much but I'm a huge fan of Minifigures and I also like to make lego comics and I'm starting brickfilming, so "play sets" don't look so bad to me :classic:

You made an interesting deal, then :classic: Hangars are indeed very rare nowadays. I'd really need a hangar for all the scene, photos, videos etc involving starfighters.

The only one we get is with the Death Star but it's quite limited.

Beside I always consider to get the Death Star but every time I think "how many other SW sets can I buy with that money?" and so I end buying other sets. Perhaps I'm wrong :classic:

How is the MicroFighter Clone Turbo? MicroFighters never had a huge "Wow factor" for me but I never had them in my hands, so my opinion is based only on the pics I saw :classic:

I agree that there is no amazing factor to them, other than the included Minifigure, but I grew to like the CTT, probably because I have 13 of them. Saying that, I have one of them displayed, and the rest I have scraped as parts. I find they are way overpriced, but much more better than the Planets series!

The included Minifigure is interesting (I'm talking mostly about the Phase II Clone Trooper) but nearly 10€ for a single Clone Trooper is vastly overpriced indeed. Especially when for about 7€ more we get 4 Clones and a little vehicle :classic:

I think the most overpriced is the AAT micro-fighter: we don't even get a proper Minifigure, just a pilot Battle Droid.

I agree with you on the AAT, and I'm sure the majority here as well. Even with a poor figure, the design of the AAT is just awful, thats why that particular MF set was the only one I didn't get multiples of.

The Phase II Clone Trooper is fantastic, and its a shame it wasn't included in a battlepack, where it would be more easier to aquire them in bulk.

I agree. I'd love to have plain white Phase II Clones Troopers to turn into 501st customs  It appears the closest thing I could do next year is to buy the stormtroopers battle backs and use them as base for the 501st. I know, different helmet but I don't see other options.

Anyway, I think I'll give the MF turbo thank a try :classic:

Finally got the Corporate Alliance Droid Tank.

I have it and it is very nice. I have even the first Corporate tank (from 7258 set) but the most recent one comes with a Phase I Clone Trooper ( and "Clone officer" accessories) and Jango Fett. I was thinking about buying a second tank just to acquire another Jango to use for a custom project :classic:

I just got the new swamp speeder and 2 of the 212th Airborne sets as well. trying to build a full army. any ideas how to find multiples of each unit without the set involved?

You could use bricklink, but you might end up over paying for the troops.

How would i get customs though for making different squads within each unit? would i use Ebay or somewhere else?

If you want totally custom clones check out clone army customs. They sell just custom clones. The prices are kinda high, but I've bought from there before and they are very well done.
