BigJoe Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 As for what I remember Shadow Guard is an elite special operations unit that does not fall into ordinary hierarchy. They had a specific task and took orders directly from the Emperor. That's what i thought. i believe that they work closely with the shadow command? i could be wrong but doesn't it go Shadow Guard, Imperial Stormtrooper Commander, Shadow Command, and Shadow trooper? I know they are an elite force but even Omega or Delta Squad take commands from ARCs Quote
BrickSev Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) Talking about recent purchases: I just finished the 75043 AT-AP (that was among my last purchase) and it's impressive. It's not very elegant but it's the "in-universe" vehicle to look like that but the set itself is truly impressive. Not to mention the fact it has a very interesting price per brick, uncommon among Star Wars sets. It also comes with two outstanding Minifigures (and three droids, including a Battle Droid Commander) Commander Gree is perfect to lead the Kashyyyk Troopers and since they are currently one of the best options for building a Clone Army, it's nice to have someone to lead them in battle. Now that I think about it, it could nice to create a sort of "chain of comment" during army building. For example, in the Clone Army I'm building (about 120 clones and 40 vehicles: not very huge I know ) I have ARC Troopers leading squads. We could do the same with the Shadow Guards EDIT: Typo corrected. Edited December 22, 2014 by BrickSev Quote

Im thinking bout grabbing more of the packs that have normal leaders instead of SWCW leaders The current packs have "standard clones" (most of the times) but you can still modify them. For example if you have 2 Commander Gree you can use his parts to assemble sergeants for the Kashyyyk Troopers. They will look different from both the "rank and file" and Gree himself (since you basically mixed his parts with the standard clones ones ) Another interesting thing (I'm thinking to do it) would be to use Old Republic Troopers as "Officers" or "Special Operations" Clones. Their armor is indeed very similar to Clone Troopers'. It's the "Republic design", after all Quote

I love the armor plus i like to take their helmets and put thm on bomb squad/212th troopers as elite detachments once in a while. I will see if i can get some pictures of my Units online soon. maybe i can during break Quote

Sadly I've been away from Lego hobby for a very long period so I only have about 120 Clones (not counting OR and few Stormtroopers and Imperial pilots) and about 40 vehicles. I know it's not huge but I still like it It has several very old Minifigures, like the first Clone Scout Trooper from 2005. He acts as the leader of the current Clone Scout Troopers from the battle pack. I have to assemble few 75035 sets and then I'll take the photos. I also plan to buy Utapau Battle packs next time I order from Lego, so I should be able to add 40 more clones to the army Quote

I made custom Marines as well out of Imperial snow troopers. with one made in to Snow Gree I know in the USA there was the famous 100 Clone Trooper exclusive pack. It has always been a very rare sight in Europe, well at least where I live I like the Marines armor. Let me know when you post the pictures of your clones Quote

That 100 Clones box is indeed very rare. You see very few of them around and they usually cost a lot. Btw, about recent purchases: I just found another 75002 AT-RT. It was the last one in the shop. One more 501st Clone Trooper then Quote

BrickSev Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Nice one. Enjoy it! I am on a student budget so even the platoon is hard to get. Do you try to follow the organisation? Or you picked an arbitrary number like I did? I know "army building" is very hard to get. Personally I'm still thinking about what type of organization to follow. Since I have several old clones who don't have the same armor/marks etc of the recent one I have still to decide where to put them. Namely if they will form a squad on their own or function as "veterans/ officers" for the new ones. The "official" organization is not easy to follow. We can end having few more or less clones we don't know where ti put etc. My suggestion is: keep buying the clones you want then when they reach a number you want to out into a "formation" choose the organization that fit betters the number of clones you have, so everyone has a place in the formation Example: if you buy 5 Kashyyy Troopers Battle packs you have 10 Kashyyyk Clones and 10 41st Elite Clones. You could make 5 men squads, for example. If your army grows you can change it's organization. I tend to put the two type of clones coming with Battle packs in different squads. In the above example I'd make 2 all Kashyyyk Clones and 2 all 41st Squads. It's just an option. They are our armies and we can do everything we like Quote

BrickSev Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Indeed That's what make lego great.Customizations! Indeed and I'd say even more: it gives us the chance to create our own stories, our own universe Nothing helps us telling our stories like Lego. Good luck with your army and remember to post some photos. It does not matter if it's a small squad or an entire sector army, everything we make with our Lego is worth to be shared I'm building a Clone Army too and as soon as I build the last Kashyyyk battle packs and gather all my vehicles together for a photo, I'll share it as well. Alongside a very small Droid army: mostly made with the droids I got in the sets I bought for the Clones. I'm not a huge fan of Separatist armies, I prefer clones Quote

Cut the AR recognition element of the catalog, and if you stick stuck in a transparent plate, can be realized? My blog http://legojapan.seesaa.net/article/411400261.html Quote
