BrickSev Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 About the Droid Tri Fighter... For 20€ its a great set! The Palpatine Minifig is fantastic, the Droids are nothing special but a good addition to the army... The ship has some great building and lots of nice dark blue parts. but is nothing too fancy... Its very swooshable but little pieces do fall off easily when played with.... Its more something to look at as it catches the look of the "original" nicely. At the original price of 40€ I would feel cheated, though... I'd see this one in the 25-30€ range to be a decent deal. Thanks for the info I was thinking about the same thing regarding the original price. I heard the build is not very exciting so Palpatine Minifigure is a sort of "star of the set" but 40€ seem a bit too much for the set. I'll keep my eyes open for some discount Quote
JonnyRainbow Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 My most recent Star Wars purchase? Besides that box of Reese's Puffs with the Star Wars poster? The Geonosis Troopers battlepack and the AT-AT Microfighter. Quote
Nekchir Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Picked up the Final Duel and the Shadow Troopers pack. I'm gonna need more space. Quote

I'll keep my eyes open for some discount I am a fan of palpatine and just got the set for the mini figure, I gave in since the actual price for the mini figure is the same as the set itself so might as well get it new. But I sold the extra pieces for it, It's the Episode III variant but still got it. I bought the Tie Advanced fighter prototype just for the imperial officer for my death star. I am planning on selling the rest of the set since I don't want it though... Quote

It's understandable since it's what often happens when a Minifigure with a certain "demand" is included in a not-so-great set. It's what happened to Quicksilver Minifigure, for example. I'm quite interesting in an Episode III Palpatine Minifigure: I missed the "Palpatine arrest" set and I'd really like to add a Chancellor Palpatine to my collection. If I'm not mistaken the Tri-fighter version comes without a lightsaber but currently the gold lightsaber hilt can be found in many affordable sets Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I picked up a 75033 Star Destroyer Microfighter today. It's the only copy of this particular set I've seen in stores in a few months, and the last OT vessel from the first series of Microfighters that I didn't already have. I wouldn't mind another, but I doubt I'll be able to find one. I'm glad to have this one, though. Quote
L-space Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Finally got the (75094) Shuttle Tydirium. I'm not sure if I really like the way the fuselage is constructed. The focus on easy acces interferes to much with the looks. Did somebody do a mod for this already? Quote
Vodnik Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) What do we consider "recent" here? Actually I bought almost all my Star Wars sets within the last half a year And by that I mean most of the OT sets released since 2009. I was lucky to find most of them new and at retail prices or significantly less Only a few used sets (like 7965 and 10188), but at great prices and in excellent condition. My most recent purchase is 8097 Slave 1 (used, in very good condition - even though I also have the UCS one ) and 75093 Death Star Final Duel - but I don't have these two yet in my hands, waiting for delivery... Previously I bought 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium and it is half built now Edited June 15, 2015 by Vodnik Quote
Commander_Rob Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium. It's all I ever hoped it would be. Quote
BrickSev Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium. It's all I ever hoped it would be. I will start building mine very soon. I missed the UCS Tydirium so when 75094 hit the shelves I had to buy it. I really hope it will meet my expectations The nice thing is I can also expand my Endor Commandos force Quote
Slurpifier Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Ordered the 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer for £102 off of Amazon. I really wish it was discounted in my area, but sadly it isn't. I'll wait to around Christmas time to buy a few more when they are on offer. Quote
sandtrooper Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 UCS Slave I on May 4th was the last set I purchased. Quote
miles teg Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Managed to get the Cantina for £45.00. Would you mind If I asked where from ? Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Some loose figs on BL: Rieekan, Lobot, Probot. Quote
BrickSev Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Miles teg: Sure, Amazon. I guess it was Amazon UK. So they are selling Lego Star Wars set at such discount? Interesting, I have to give a look The exchange often increases prices but it's still less than I would pay the Cantina here. I already have that set so I may give a look around for other sets. However I heard it's quite simple to MOC or Mod two sets into a larger Cantina. Anyway thanks for sharing the info with us Quote
Tariq j Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 No problem! Amazon have alot of sets reduced in the UK at the moment, another example os the AT-AT priced at £87, in regards to the cantina, I would certainly get two, its a great set bit just too small. Quote
TWP Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Had my birthday last sunday. Got the Ewok Village (finally!), T-16 skyhopper, AAT, Senate commando battle pack, battle of saleucami. (well I had to pay a bit myself to for the ewok village, else I would have been too spoilt ) I'm really happy with the Ewok Village. The AAT was a nice surprise too, I first thought the set was really bad but in person it's not all that bad, actually kinda nice. Quote
AndyRiley8 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 My Tydirium arrived yesterday and i built it last night. Excellent build and the finished article is impressive. The new endor figures are great too. I was dubious about the price tag, now its built I definitely think its worth it Quote

The Cantina is indeed too small. Not to mention the fact the set lacks a musician A second set would allow to expand the building, complete the music band and it will also give an additional Sand Trooper and Dewback Quote
Vodnik Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) The Cantina is indeed too small. Not to mention the fact the set lacks a musician Actually the Modal Nodes band consisted of 7 musicians (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Modal_Nodes and http://cantinacustoms.tripod.com/id18.htm). So even two sets are not enough to have a FULL band :) Edited June 17, 2015 by Vodnik Quote
Wodanis Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Just picked up the new Flash Speeder, AT-AT and Naboo Starfighter. All of which I enjoyed very much. The Flash Speeder was superb and I'm looking forward to getting the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium next month. Quote
MartinCliffe Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I have a Flash Speeder and a TIE Advanced Prototype (plus ESB poster) waiting for me at my parents' in England (I'm going back there in 2 weeks). Hoping to pick up an Assault Carrier this weekend (I have 10% off ToysRUs HK vouchers). My plan is to get the Tyderium when the RoTJ poster is available at S@H in the UK. Quote
H_Solo Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) I built the Cantina last sunday and was delighted by it! So I thought to invest a bit on Tatoine.... Got Jabbas Palace in the mail yesterday, Jabbas Sail Barge and the Desert Skiff are still on its way... On Saturday I'll get the Rancor Pit in Legoland and perhaps pick up Tydirium as well.
