Vectormatic Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I've built four non-mini-scale TIEs in the past 12 months, 9492, 75095, 75082 and this. This build was simply the least interesting/satisfying, IMO. I liked the way the wings locked into the pylons on the others better, and that's a big factor. The bottom turret being missing is certainly not helpful either, since it's one of the most important performance upgrades for the new TIEs. The price is certainly not helpful, though. The piece count isn't a big deal to me, and it looks fine otherwise. The FO Officer and Crew Member will be moving to my FO Transport to act as the pilot and pop-up gunner so that the Stormtroopers can all occupy the landing bay, so that's a plus. I see, i wasnt too impressed with 75082 myself, but most of that comes from the price of the set (even though i managed to get it VERY cheap), and not liking the curve on the wing panels too much They are nice models still, but the SW stuff is getting rather pricey, and in that context im finding it harder and harder to forgive the fact that most lego sets need modification out of the box to look right (to me anyway) Quote
JPN366 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Ditto. Only 4 stickers on my sheet: two red rectangles and 2 round black wing hubs. I got 6 stickers, 4 were red rectangles. This is what I came up with for a MOD of the TIE Fighter. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=117243 Quote
Rune Haako Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) I didn't purchase them (not yet anyway) but Kylo Ren's Shuttle is $99.00 on the US Amazon, and the First Order Snowpseeder is $32.00. Edited November 16, 2015 by Rune Haako Quote

Artemis78 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I got mine new from craiglist ( or the equivalent in France, leboncoin if you want to know ) for 85€ ! I also found Obi-wan jedi interceptor with the hyperspace ring for 50€ on it but didn't purchase it, without the box or instruction but whatever. Quote
Venkefedo Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Poe's X-wing arrived finally (backordered from S@H for a month!), and got the first 3 bags built, just the wings left pretty much. The minifigs are terrific, BB-8's adorable, and it's been a fun build so far... glad to finally have a TFA set Quote
funderstorm Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 @Bug82 - similar story to me... A few weeks ago picked up the UCS Slave I (75060) which reignited a latent addiction... Since then picked up (Star Wars wise): - 75095 - UCS Tie FIghter - 10240 - Red Five X-Wing And non-SW: - 70810 - MetalBeard's Sea Cow - 70816 - Benny's Spaceship - 70815 - Super Secret Police Transport Currently deciding whether to buy a 10212 (UCS Shuttle) new, and/or the 10188 (Death Star) and 75059 (UCS Sandcrawler). I have some hesitation as to the latter two as I think they are more 'playsets' than display orientated, and my preference (I think) tends towards the latter. Have to be picky as space is limited in Manhattan and the wife, while somewhat supportive, is keeping a close eye on me... Quote
the_colonel Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 75051 - Jedi Scout Fighter (because of that Jek-14 minifig) Quote
Puvel Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Friend of mine gave me 75112 General Grievous because I was complaining about all shops having the battle figures except the one I want. It’s awesome! Quote
kyreii Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Just got Mos Eisley's Cantina and the Death Star. :D Also picked up a loose Mos Eisley Cantina (no speeder/no minifigs) to MOC a larger cantina. :) Quote
BrickSev Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I recently bought two more First Order transporters and an additional First Order Snowspeeder. I finally decided to build a little First Order army Quote
Frazeur Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Just purchased the tydirium shuttle released earlier. Really enjoyed the build and scale! Quote
JPN366 Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Went to the VIP event this morning at my LEGO Store, but the only Star Wars sets I got were the 75100 FO Snowspeeder, the 75078 Imperial Troop Transport and the 75089 Geonosis Troopers. I did get other stuff though. Quote

Haven't opened it yet. In australia, sales barely bring down the price of lego to what it equates to elsewhere, so this was a steal. Quote
Cyanide-Tipped Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Bought the $20 Snowspeeder...mainly for the Luke minifig. Still a simple cool set. Quote
lowlead Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) My local WM #2046: Kylo Ren's Command Shuttles $85.00 Imperial Star Destroyers $95.00 (sold out for now ) Normally I strike out at this store, but on occasion a good deal pops up. In early 2013, for example, this store had a bunch of 9492s for $35.00 - lasted for several weeks, too. Recently I had an opportunity to speak with the department manager who relayed some interesting tips. Managers are given a certain amount of discretion with regard to temporary pricing, and this guy elected to put 75104s and 75055s at the prices above. He also pointed out that since it's not a clearance price, the shelf tag will remain yellow and have a bold capital T below the price, adjacent to the barcode. Happy hunting! Cyanide-Tipped Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the "pro" tip about the pricing in the stores. I definitely need to check my WM and see what's going on. I forget...a regularly priced item doesn't have a bold T? Edited November 23, 2015 by Cyanide-Tipped Quote
lowlead Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Cyanide: To your question, I would have to say no after comparing the shelf stickers to the regularly priced sets. It's a subtle difference that I never noticed before it was brought to my attention. Now I'm regretting that I didn't snap a quick pic - maybe I could tomorrow if I'm in the area. Quote

Robianco Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Well a 3 for 2 deal at Argos in the UK forced my hand to pick up Poe's X-Wing and the FO Troop Transport to get the FO TIE for free. A little reduction on the X-Wing was a sweetener! Also picked up a few figures cheap on eBay meaning I don't need to get the new Falcon (I'll mod my 7965 a little instead of picking the TFA version up). Quote
Legoman of War Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) I just ordered the latest iteration of the MF Saturday when it was double points. It is my Christmas present from my wife! Edited November 23, 2015 by Legoman of War Quote
Kman860 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I got 7667 off ebay for $25 CAN, got all 4 figures, but one has crack down the side of the torso :hmpf_bad: but from what I understand, it's a somewhat common issue. Quote
