captaintau Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 So yeah, yesterday night I was hunting for LEGO so I went to a Toys'R'Us and found the LEGO section with diffrent stuff. It had some Technic Ferrari's, a Ferrari garage, loads of Bionicle, Exoforce, Star Wars ships... *yoda* [Jedi Mind trick]You WILL buy Star Wars. [/Jedi mind trick] *yoda* Seriously, if times are hard and money is short, join the club, but buy a cheap Star Wars set, like the A-Wing which is like Quote
Roz Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Haha, nope, I won't buy the StarWars ones. Not that I don't like StarWars or it's LEGO theme. It's because I just spoted something I shouldn't have: http://www.lego.com/eng/city/products.asp I just died and went to heaven. NEED. ALL. CITY. SETS. NOW. :'-( Quote

JINZONINGEN73 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Ah well... I tried my best to trick you into buying a Bionicle set. :-P The majority of the "oldskool" builders pretty much hate Bionicle. And they have NO problem saying so. They're not completely in the wrong, but I do pity their lack of foresight. But hey, to each his own. To me, Bionicle / Technic is super-posable joints that let me make action figures. Don't get me wrong though, I'd LOVE a room of the house devoted to a city landscape of my design. Yet as you point out, Lego be costly, so we be buyin' just what be catchin' our eye first. Dynamically posable mecha For The Win. ...(and I'm not talkin' those stiff, hollow, limiting snap-jointed Exo-Force anime wannabe's... ...though they do have some good parts) Quote

I like Technic, too, but because of the possibility to build machines or contraptions. Action figures... I dunno, they just "don't do it" for me, I don't see the appeal... but that's still the good thing about LEGO: lotsa possibilities ;-) Quote
captaintau Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 OK, I'll take the diplomatic middle ground here (and risk flack from all sides): IF there's a SW Bionicle set, I'll gladly get it! Quote
