Miss Kyle Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 The town of Reading sucks. (sorry if you live there, but it does). Ah well, one gets used to it :) But it's a great homebase, you get to lots of cool places in no time :D Quote
Legostein Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Hello everbody! This first event I ever joined was unforgettable for me, too. It was truly inspirating meeting other people with the same interests. Three things I've learned: 1. Meeting people is much better than sitting in an isolated building room for years like I did. 2. The community will always help each other. 3. Always take the maximum bag size allowed by your airline to have more space to buy LEGO® sets. I am also glad everyone enjoys the photos. I would be happy to see other peoples photos as well to have some more views and perspectives. (I seem to be absent on most of the pictures taken by me ) Let me just quickly point out one picture. It is one of the very last ones taken spontaneously in the evening of our last day, where all of us had a great time with bricks and drinks. Seeing everonye being happy and having fun also brought a bright smile into the organisers' faces. So, thank you to all people who helped organising this exceptional event! It's been a pleasure being part of it and I am already looking forward to next year's event to meet you all again and also those who were not able to join this year. See you around, ~ Christopher Edited June 8, 2011 by Legostein Quote

Etzel Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Now I'm home too. I had some extra days after the event to explore some other parts of England (including Oxford and Stonehenge). Thanks for a great time last week, it was really nice to meet all the old and new friends And yes, Holodoc is right: Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 8, 2011 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 8, 2011 I had a fantastic time last week, which I'll remember for a long time. I met a lot of old and new eventees and really enjoyed hanging out with all of you. I'm already missing the morning and evening swims I had with some of you daily in our amazingly nice hotel. I'm already looking forward to next year's event (nooo, not a full year ) but I'm sure I'll meet some of you before that time (maybe at LEGO World in Zwolle in October). Thanks for being the best people to hang out with Quote
snefroe Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 i really enjoyed the event as well Scouting for great bricks, buying sets to build later in the evening, having drinks whilst discussing Mike's building qualities,... no endless discussion on Star wars bounty hunters this year though in fact, without some real sw freaks, lego star wars wasn't much around, this year... I guess that'll change next year, when the Danes show up again... i also liked the morning swim, in a heated outdoors swimming pool... you kinda dont expect to do that in London, early June... still, i'm betting that's the reason why i'm sick in bed right now no doubt, "Satanic Black" will become a classic in event history... not to mention the other new word we picked up: "Skandi", meaning "all sorts of gibberish they speak once you're to the North of Holland and Germany"... i saw some old friends, missed Kim, Morten and Rickard quite a bit, but also made some new friends! Thanks every one, especially Tom and Mike, for a great event and i hope we'll see each other in Billund next year! Quote
Calanon Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 no endless discussion on Star wars bounty hunters this year though in fact, without some real sw freaks, lego star wars wasn't much around, this year... I guess that'll change next year, when the Danes show up again... Well I had a pretty decent discussion on the first day with Pedro on Star Wars while waiting for food, if that counts! Quote
Sir Norman Ray Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Ahem. Dirty, STINKING, CHILDREN.... Anyway, now thats out of the way I have to say, this was very enjoyable. It was good to meet a good chunk of you guys for the first time. This was only my third Lego Meet up, but at least this time I didn't have to fly to Seattle! Everybody was a good laugh in their own ways, I don't think I'll ever forget the epic search for Tesco. (Or the fact I found my Guinness pen bottle opener as soon as I got home.) Or of course, I honestly don't know if I can invade Denmark next year (REVENGE!) due to costs. Who knows, maybe I'll get a better paying job? We'll see. But until then, here's dreaming of glorious evil black... -Sir Norman "To the pub!" Ray. Edited June 9, 2011 by Sir Norman Ray Quote

mash Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Hi everybodaaay! My first post, and it's a big thank you to everyone for an awesome event! It was so cool to see how rich and active this community is, and to rediscover my own love of Lego - I'll be digging around my parents' attic for my old sets now! The activities were all really fun and imaginative, and it was great to meet people from all over Europe - truly outstanding work by the organisers! My only regret is having boneitis not taking enough hayfever remedies! Which reminds me, thanks also to Legostein for the tissue donations :D -Matt (mister kyle) Quote

Enjoy your time here, and I will gladly send you some more tissues if necessary. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Miss Kyle Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 There he is Hello mash, welcome to this lovely place! Quote
fff Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 So nice photos... I really should try to come next year... a lot of fun is guaranteed :-) Quote
CopMike Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 And I´m back into Normal Life Mode, took a while - pheew! Thanks everyone for a great event ! It´s was great meeting the "old" eventees and all the "new" ones!! I had a great time and think we as a community left a good impression to the TLG people we met ! Or maybe one guy was a bit worried on saturday afternoon, and I can´t even imagene the look of his colleges when they were trying to find the whatever brick in the bin, to build their models ! Special memorys: * All you great people * Satanic Black * The Tesco hunt * 217 doesn´t equal 33 ! * The BIG Pizza Hut - not! * The outside bar and time spent there * Ras not coming to the event so everybody got wet in the Viking Ride ! See you around the forum and in Billund 2012!!! Quote
Ras 74 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Special memorys:* Ras not coming to the event so everybody got wet in the Viking Ride ! So that is now my fault? I guess I am a magnet to water then... Must be the only explanation there. This was the actual reason why I didn´t come this year to the event to break the magic spell of getting wet E-V-E-R-Y time We will see how that turns out next year... Quote
Holodoc Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Now finally I have uploaded my photo gallery from the event here. Just a few examples: Where we stayed - with the right printing on the flag. This place was really amazing! Quiet, green, comfortable. After the first day in the park. Viking ride? Mission accomplished! Our dear root beer admin greeting us via satellite connection! Cool. Presentation time. The crowd listens. The original... ...and the copy. Visiting the buildershop... And my absolute favourites: The diver in a sea of - what? Beer? The first (effortless) attempt to get the poor guy out again... ... and how to do it right. Btw. one of the next year's competitions! Finally a picture puzzle: What is this (caution, Trekkie joke)? (this was not an eventee, but a miniland tour guide...) Quote
Aredhel Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Nice pictures, Doc!!! I hope mine will follow too. Still need to resize them and then load up after finish my exams next saturday! - Aredhel PS: Welcome Matt!!! Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 20, 2011 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 20, 2011 Now finally I have uploaded my photo gallery from the event here. I finally had a close look at all the pics in your gallery Doc, and it brings back so many fantastic memories Especially on a rainy working day like today I wish I was still at the event... Quote
WhiteFang Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Thank you for uploading those photos! Seeing it, made me wanted to work harder, so I could join you guys one day! It's truly amazing and wonderful. Quote
Aredhel Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Hey, already finished to upload my pics to my BS yesterday and so I can share the link today  Linky to the Event pics. The folder picture will be changed when I got the group picture (Sorry Rick ) Here are some impressions: Entering the Vikins area: Two of the amazing mosaics while waiting veeeeery long for the Laser-shoot-ride At Windsor Castle - too sad it was too expensive to go in... But a very very nice overview from the outside Well, the next one was a really interesting sign close to the Castle... And last but not least - Contest bricks ... Cheers, Aredhel Quote
