Blackknight112 Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Love the review! Have you ordered any more of the summer wave? No, but. I think about buying the podracers and sith infiltrator (my store which is about 5min from where I live has them) Edited June 9, 2011 by Blackknight112 Quote
Darth CJ Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 No, but. I think about buying the podracers and sith infiltrator (my store which is about 5min from where I live has them) You are a very lucky person! Hmph! Quote
DarkFader Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Solid review, good job done with it. As for my opinions on the set, I like that it's bigger than the old version but I can't help but feeling that it actually feels kinda boring despite having three nice minifigs. sok117 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I concur, I wish this would've included Commander Jet (with that nice new helmet mold) instead of Cody, but I guess that's too much to ask for 3 new figs in a small/mid-sized set. I think you could argue that statement either way, the sith speeder consists of three new figures, however, on can counter by saying that that two of those figures are not completly new, they use the same molds, just different prints. However, one could say that Jet could just use a regular clone trooper mold with a different print. I think that they could've included him, but TLC wanted to re-release both the main clones in the genosis sets for this year. Quote
Future74 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Nice job on this review Blackknight I agree with KielDaMan; Although poorly-received, the Ki-Adi Mundi figure is better than none at all and I appreciate TLG for giving us one. A new minifigure like commander Jet would have been nicer instead of a already released Commander Cody, but I understand it as not all of us own him. From the pictures the new Geonosian looks good, I'll have to wait untill I build mine for the final verdict. The new starfighter is a big improvement, I cant argue about that! Now I only need time to build... Quote
Fallenangel Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I am wondering whether I am the only one that prefers the older Geonosian minifigure over the newer one... Quote
KimT Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I am wondering whether I am the only one that prefers the older Geonosian minifigure over the newer one... You're NOT the only one. The new one is not even close to the old one in my opinion. Quote
Fallenangel Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 You're NOT the only one. The new one is not even close to the old one in my opinion. Thanks KimT! I've been reassured... Personally I think that the Geonosian minifigure could benefit from looking a bit more skeletal (Bruce Lowell had a good idea as well). How would the new head look on the body of the older General Grievous? Quote
KimT Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 And what about the wings? Where's my winged Geonosian?! [crosses fingers for a Geonosian Battle Pack] Quote
Mr Man Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 How would the new head look on the body of the older General Grievous? OK I think, but the arms don't really work, it would need arms like the new ninja skeletons (oh and it needs to be sand brown). Quote
mutley777 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 And what about the wings? Where's my winged Geonosian?! [crosses fingers for a Geonosian Battle Pack] I think there is a good chance of a Geonosian BP this Jan. This year we had the Clone Wars one, now it is time for a movie one and with all the prequel sets coming out, it could well be a prequel BP. I would still love to see a picture with the old wings on the new geonosian. Quote
pedro Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Ta for the review. A great evolution of this fighter, looks many times better than the original: overall shape, cockpit/canopy, etc. I personally like the new Geonosian; despite his longer, plain neck, his colour and head are far more accurate. He'll look even better with a pair of wings methinks! Would love a battlepack with these guys. Ki-Adi Mundi... the new molds look great, torso printing good, but bloody 'ell - his face. He looks like he's high on crack or something - with his wide eyed, thousand yard stare into infinity. The actual Clone Wars series' characters don't look that bad. They need to let another artist adapt that look to LEGO; Quinlan Vos is another dreadful example. Wonder what'd make a good replacement for dear ol' Ki-Adi? Overall it's not a bad set - ridiculously expensive compared to other themes as with all SW - I may see if I can get my hands on it for cheap. Thanks again for the review! Quote
badboytje88 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Could you perhaps take a photo of Ki Adis head dress on a non clone wars minifig head? Quote
kidcharm Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Great Review! Thanks for highlighting the price being a problem. ...It's a real shame. Some of the elements are larger, but they're not big enough to warrant that sort of cost increase. Quote

Refy L.S. Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Great review Blackknight112! I thought the set was a bit lacking though, the front 'wings' were quite hollow and small compared to the rest of the ship. The figures were kind of a let down to. And the price... where I live it costs double what it's worth IMO. Quote
Future74 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 *snip* Ki-Adi Mundi... the new molds look great, torso printing good, but bloody 'ell - his face. Ras 74 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I would love to see the long printed slopy piece from the old Starfighter on the new version. Might do this change on the Starfighters I will get finally. Quote
Brick Smiley Productions Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Thanks for the review! Looks like a decent set enough, although the figs aren't looking the best. If I see it at a discount then I'll get it. Quote
